Are we going to get the new status at CEAC, when the case is received by the embassy?
Yes.
You will only see it say at embassy once they have logged your case into their system.
Give it a day or two considering Wednesday Nov 11 is a holiday (Veteran's day)

Still no ds-261 review. ?
Try tonight or tomorrow night!
I was lucky to get mine unlocked after 12 days, by calling at night and receiving a different agent than usual.

These are the things am talking with me
1.w.union receipts
2.wedding photos
3.husband boarding passes
3.child's American passport and crba
4.ds260 confirmation page
5.photocopies of all doc.sent to nvc
6.husband's recent tax return (2014 )
And also I will print the chart and call records from viber and WhatsApp as well
Please that is all that am taking with me .Will that be ok
I would suggest not including Western Union Receipts.
I was told because West African countries are high fraud countries...seeing any exchange of money is not exactly a good thing.
Everything else looks good.
Make sure you have original of marriage certificate, birth certificate and police certificate.

Agree with ZaakirahDemba.
Requesting for an expedite based on this reason will guarantee a high chance of denial.
Usually people file for an expedite due to medical needs and/or financial hardships,
but surely you can go ahead and try
P.S. Good luck Oksmel and ZaakirahDemba with the interviews!
Thank you!

After seeing some of the timelines for the NVC to receive the case, I was expecting a wait of 2-3 weeks, but just called them and they said they received it today! Woo Hoo! Now to start calling for the case number next week.
Yay!
Congrats!
Hope you are getting your documents together in the meantime!
-
Oksmel and Zaakirah, good luck with your interviews. Praying for smooth processes from here on out for the three of us and our spouses. God knows we deserve it after our fighting with NVC.
Yes!
Thank you!
Same for you!
With God, all things are possible!
congratulations to all three. I am tempted to do the same. ... Share your example you mail to expedite? my reason is to spend Christmas and New Year with my husband and our son (he has nine months).
do you think this is good?
Peas help me?
I don't think so.
Because it is not like you are 9 months pregnant.
We all kind of want to spend the holidays with our family.
But you can give it a try.
Do not be surprised if it is denied.
Included proof of some kind; documentation and email nvcexpedite@state.gov

Okay.
I was not sure if an appointment was actually made.
But the receptionist did take my husband's name down and she knows that he will be there Wednesday evening.
Dr. Kane's office now only does embassy related medical exams Wednesday and Friday after 4pm.

Thank you.
And thank you for this link Ewok.
I have only viewed it as far as the timelines.
I did not it know it had everything.

Our DS-260 was unlocked by the embassy
The case was expedited before the IV fee and DS260 were completed,
so the DS 260 was unlocked by the embassy, we had to complete it before the interview , while the fee was paid in the embassy
Good luck!
How did you know it was unlocked?
my case was expedited.
I actually finished the DS-260 the same day my case was being shipped from NVC.

hmmm....I'm looking at my husband's country's portal and everyone onthe IR-1/CR-1 visa has had an interview on a Tuesday or Thursday.
If that that's their interview days...I'm wondering how come my husband has a Wednesday interview with the K-1's.
I wonder if it is because my case was expedited and that was the date I requested....
-
Well, I don't think CO will know you expedited the case.
How you can be sure that NVC didn't loose some of your documents and the Embassy has all packages and all papers you sent?
Too much is on a scale at this time.
I would definitely travel for my hubby's interview, but the choice is yours.
My prayers.
Thanks.
I have sent my husband the medical letter from my doctor anyways!

Hi,
So I tend to post a lot...
and even though I receive the daily new posts emails...
Sometimes I go straight to the thread on the website to pick up where I left off with "view first unread post"
However, there are some threads that I have forgotten that I posted in that I wanted to follow up on.
The forums page only shows my top 5 or 6 topics that I am following...in other words, have posted in and sometimes I do not see it depending on how busy the thread is.
What is the easiest way to get to all of them from the visajourney site?
-
My status still says "At NVC"
They will send it about 2 weeks before interivew date.

I will tell my husband.
Also...did you schedule an appointment with Dr. Kane? Or was that a walk in?
Can you also tell us about your embassy/interview experience here?
-
Thank you!
I had all intentions of traveling too.
But with me submitting a medical expedite by way of financial hardship... it should be understood as to why I am not there.
Also, after all that back and forth with the embassy. They know not to mess with me. lol.
Plus I frontloaded, so I am certain they have everything they need except original documents.
-
Thanks.
I guess it is my interview too...even though it's mainly my husband. Lol :-p
-
We will find out. I think I notice that I am the first one to really have a review on Dr. Kane on here as she is a fairly new doctor to the list. So, yes I definitely will follow up.
-
Welcome and congrats!
Be sure to read and post in the link below
You will still have to wait about another week or two before you can get your case number and invoice number.
But this thread and the NVC process wiki should be helpful to you.

Okay! I finally have an interview date with for my husband!
it took a lot of diligence and persistence as my embassy continuously told me that they are understaffed resulting in delays.
But it is November 18th and his medical exam is November 11th.
I will be following up.

Hello Everyone,
We didn't necessary follow the timelines in the P3/P4.I received a medical expedite so I'm been dealing directly with the embassy. When I initially called to schedule the interview, the representative at the embassy kept asking was the medical complete about 4 or 5 times. Then, he offered dates for my husband to come in for an interview. I didn't confirm any dates because at this point I was concerned about the medical and figured I would get back to the embassy to confirm the interview, especially after reading some of the other posts..
My husband left for dakar the next day and went straight for his exam. There was a lot of back and forth between various exam locations, such as blood work and x-ray. He received exam results and 10 photos in his hand to take to the interview. But he did have to give the blood work results back to the doctor. On the last trip to Dr Hassan after he takes your blood work results, he is currently advising everyone to come back in 2.5 - 3 weeks from your initial doctor visit NO MATTER WHEN YOUR INTERVIEW IS SCHEDULED for the vaccinations. I suggest asking the doctors on the list when you should expect your vaccinations when making your initial appointment. This seems to be the delay. My guess is that they are low on supplies. My husband mentioned there were lots of people there complaining about the same thing. Get your medical exam as soon as you can. Even more than 3 weeks out if you can get in with the doctor.
It's too late for us for but i'm wondering if it's better to have the immunizations elsewhere then bring the records to the embassy doctor for proof of the immunizations. Just a thought.
Thank you for sharing!
my husband's medical exam is November 11th with Dr. Awa Kane. My husband's interview is then November 18th.
I will take the advice from this thread!
I will also follow up.
-
Alright, dwheels76!
I received my husband's interview date for November 18th!
I noticed as I was filling in my timeline, it is exactly 8 months from my NOA1. That is so amazing!
But now I can breathe a little bit as my husband travels to the country of Senegal to get his medical done and prep for the interview.

There is a "new" thread if anyone wants to join in:

Hubby approved today!!!! yaaayyyy!!!!
Congratulations!
I read your review on your timeline!
That is so interesting that she showed your husband your picture from the G-325. That is a first that I have read.
I know they typically ask..who filed for you...or who is the petitioner to you.
