  1. I was approved on October 2nd and NVC received my case on 19th October (:

We filled out the agent form online.. I just wanted to ask what exactly is the next process after paying AOS and IV fee online?

Be sure to view this link if you have not.

If you paid both fees, and submitted your documents, then next is the DS260 immigrant form.

  2. Hello everyone,

    After wainting 5 inpatient month for NVC to provide status on my husbands case i received an email with the following;

    Dear Sir/Madam,

All documentation necessary to complete the National Visa Center's processing of your case has been received. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

    Im so excited!!!!

Does anyone know how long will it take to have an interview scheduled?

Thank you all in advance .?

    Congratulations!

Come to this thread, add a post with your case complete date (the date they emailed you)

And take a look at the spreadsheet and look for your country to get an estimate.

  3. I'm so confused and worried. My fiancé went for his interview last month. He was told to provide / submit another affidavit of support along with his passport. It's been a little over 3weeks since he dropped off his passport and affidavit support, and our case status went from AP to READY but on October 6th our status didn't change but the date changed to October 6th. So our case status is still the same which is "READY"

My question is What does it mean? if my case status show like this

Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3731.html

Should we keep waiting or do we need to set up another interview ?

    I'm just seeing this.

Your timeline is not set up.

Did you manage to contact the embassy to see if there are any updates?

  4. One thing also everyone needs to realize and understand is every embassy have standard templates of email verbiage (packet 3 and 4). They do not tailor make emails to every single situation. There are people as we have seen here who file through NVC and request an expedite and everything than is done through embassy so much of what the embassy sens as what they need o see is for them.

Some here have DCF at their Consulate/Embassy so everything is filed through them.

What I am trying to tell everyone is. You filed your AOS at embassy. Yes your beneficiary needs all your originals at interview. AOS EVERYHING originals. So please provide that just i case.

I agree with the part saying that if your case was expedited and handled by the embassy...they do send a standard email.

I was a bit confused by my P3/P4 email, because they were suggesting that I send documents that I knew were included with the AOS package sent to NVC.

But I listened to instincts and submitted the copies I had of AOS forms for me and joint sponsor.

  5. Do the dr's take the photos or my husband should supply them? Are they talking about passport photos or what type?

    Thanks

For Dr. Awa Kane, my husband had to take the passport pictures to her.

I've heard from Renee14 that Dr. Hassan Bahsoun takes the pictures himself.

So...my personal suggestion would be to get the 10 passport pictures done just to be safe.

My husband shared his experience. he arrived to the Embassy at 6:40am, the Embassy opened at 7:05 am. He went through security and waited to be called upon. At the window a man asked him these questions.

    1. who filed for you?

    2. how did you discover each other?

    3. What conversation did you first have?

    4. What was the conversation about?

    5. Has your spouse been married before?

    6. is this your first marriage?

    7. Did you know your spouse has children?

    8. How many children does she have?

    9. Do you have children?

    10. When did you first meet face to face and where did you meet?

    11. Was it the same time you met you got married?

    12. What is your wife's profession?

    13. What is her profession about?

Then the CO told him to wait then he came back to the window and asked to see his original documents, He told him to wait again and when he came back he said okay finger print here and come back next week to pick up your Visa and passport. Take this slip and bring it when you come back.

He said the CO was emotionless, he didn't smile but he did twitch his nose. Overall it was a good interview and he heard those magic words "your approved".

    Thank you for sharing!

  6. hey every body,

i hope you are all doing well and fine, i just saw my status on USCIS right now, but i am so worried because we did not receive our second NOA yet can you tell me Please what does this mean? does this mean that our document is finally approved ? because it is shipped from Texas Service Center to another office

On November 7, 2015, we transferred your Form I-130, Immigrant Petition for Relative, Fiance(E), or Orphan, Receipt Number (***********), to another USCIS office. That office now has jurisdiction over your case. We sent you a notice that explains why we moved your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your notice by December 7, 2015, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go towww.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address

No, it is not approved nor denied yet. They have not finished reviewing your file. Texas has transferred it to a different service center (Probably Potomac Service Center) that could get thru your case a little bit quicker.

  7. Got this today!

    11-NOV-15

    Dear Sir/Madam,

All documentation necessary to complete the National Visa Center's processing of your case has been received. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa.

The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of the interview.

    Sincerely,

    Director

    National Visa Center

Congratulations! Be sure to post your CC and Scan date in the December Interivew thread if you have not.

  8. Hello every one, I have two questions:

    1. Has NVC changed their procedures regarding notifications to applicants? (Siddharth8s just posted they received an email from NVC)

According to Saylin's great NVC Guide, NVC does not notify applicants, at least when she wrote the guide.

    "Step 1 - Case Number

Once your I-130 has been approved from USCIS, it will be sent to NVC (a part of the Department of State). Depending what service center the I-130 is coming from, this can take anywhere from a few business days to a few weeks. You may or may not get an email from USCIS/update on their website stating when it was sent.

You won't get correspondence from NVC when they receive your case from USCIS. You need to call an operator at NVC to find this out.

Once NVC does receive your case, it's currently taking around 3 weeks for a case number to be assigned..

If you'd like to stay on top of things, it's best to call about once a week after your NOA2 to see if NVC has received your case. Once they do have your case and about 2-3 weeks have passed since then, increase your calls to about 2-3 times a week (or even more if you wish) until you get a case number assigned.

    2. A great majority of NVC applicants do not even know the existence of this wonderful bulletin board (VISA JOURNEY). Therefore they do not know they are supposed to be calling NVC to obtain a case number so they can login and continue their process. If they were not notified by NVC, how did they proceed with their steps through NVC?

Unfortunately, a majority of people go months waiting simply because they did not hear from NVC after their case was transferred.

I personally received a welcome letter in the mail with the documents cover sheet needed to send for AOS package.

But had I not called, that would have resulted in a couple of days delay with paying fees.

  9. Hello everyone, my husband had his interview today and got put on AP. He has to go back for his vaccinations on Nov 25th and they also want more proof of our relationship. He showed them about 5-10 photos, marriage certificate, only 1 viber conversation (my husband didn't print out all of our conversations. Only 1 from viber....sigh) He's going to drop off more proof when he turns in the medical. When we called to confirm before the appointment he was told to take the printout of the email. he showed it and He says then they gave him a hard time even getting into the embassy. Then, lady asked tons of questions during the interview, such as

    1) where do i live

    2) where do my parents live

    3) do i have brothers and sisters? if so, how many?

    4) where do they all work?

    5) what do i tell my husband about washington, dc

    6) and more about our relationship. don't have those yet to tell

Well, congratulations on making it thru the interview. Because it does sound like you make it thru vs to, meaning a good AP vs a bad AP.

Thanks for sharing your husband's interview questions.

Looking forward to the update once he goes back at the end of the month.

  10. My wife's interview has been scheduled as well!

    December 16.

Very exciting, but unfortunately this might mess up our holiday plans since my wife is supposed to fly to the US on December 23 for a 2+ week vacation for Christmas.

Guess we'll have to contact the embassy once they receive the documents to see if it's possible to move it up, otherwise we'll just have to figure something out.

Hypothetical question - does anyone know what would happen if she has an interview on Dec 16, but official approval is not available by Dec 23. Can she get her passport back and fly to the US on her tourist visa, or would it be cancelled at the interview?

That's the best thing you can do!

See if you can move it up, once the case is at the embassy.

Let the embassy know of your plans and see what happens from there.

But if I am not mistaken, as long as you have everything and they don't require anything else, China delivers visa is 3-4 days.

    Congrats!

  11. can someone help me please...

My husband's case is currently in Algeria waiting for an interview. My case has been completed in August of 2014. I have been trying to get him an interview for the past year and half. I have been emailing the U.S. Embassy in Algeria for the past 2 months and have not gotten a single email back. I have called the embassy and they tell me no IV phone in embassy. I have called NVC zillion times and I am simply told "sorry, we can't do anything because your case is at the embassy." I have requested to speak to a supervisor for the past week and half and every time I have been told "sorry, no supervisor available at this time." Even though i called mornings, mid-morning, afternoon, mid-afternoon, but still get the same answer. I am so fed up! I have contacted the senator's office and after 4 weeks waiting, they told me the embassy replied and pretty much say to wait until it's time for an interview and they will contact me. senator office told me to contact them back in 3 months, if i don't hear back from embassy.

i am so done with this immigration #######. anyone can shed a light on anything i can do to get somewhere?

I saw you got a response in the December Interviews thread.

But yes, all I know is that Algiers embassy takes 3 to 5 months just to schedule an interview and have an open slot. Patience is key!

  12. Hi all,

My NOA2 was approved today after exactly 5 months at Nebraska! YAYYYYY (finally) - am I now in the correct next thread or should I be in a different one? Thanks - so excited to move on to the next step.

    Yup! Welcome!

    This is the right thread!

Be sure to follow the NVC Process wiki on the very first page of the thread so you know what to do step by step.

    Good Luck!

The holidays are quickly approaching which I know is gonna cause a lotttt of delays.
