  1. Holly canoli!!!! I'm seeing the 3rd N/A!!!!! Could that be the miracle that we are expecting???

I'm waiting to confirm it as soon as they open the lines!

    Holy Canoli! :)

    Congratulations! :joy:

    Hey Guys,

This is going to be my first post on VJ, but i have followed all the posts for the IR1/CR1 processes and timelines which have been very helpful to me as i had done all the paper work on my own. Thank you for all the posts that people have posted and all the responses to the same. This forum has been very helpful to me and has given me a lot of hope for my own process.

I just had a quick question if any one could possibly help for. I am the beneficiary on the case and my wife is a US citizen. My scan date for the NVC has been the 21st of Oct. By when should i expect a case complete as every time i have called the NVC they have said my file has not been opened yet to be reviewed. Any help for the same would be much appreciated.

Try calling them on November 23rd if you do not see anything online (ceac.state.gov) by November 20th.

After a long wait of 3 weeks i received my case number yesterday on 11/16 and today this morning i submitted DS261, right after that I spoke to customer service and she went over and reviewed my DS261 as well, also she told me that i can send my I864 (AOS forms) and other civil documents with cover sheet which will be available as soon as I pays AOS fees online, this afternoon i received couple of emails from NVC with welcome letter, and fees invoice, which i paid right away online.

Now I have documents cover sheet available, should i send my documents and forms (AOS and IV package) now, or should i wait for AOS and IV fees to be PAID and then send the Package.

    thanks

Congratulations! Your case has just kept on moving.

Go right ahead and send the documents!

It is going to take a few days for the IV fee to show as paid. They also will take a little while to review your DS 260.

  2. They denied my request to reschedule the interview date. But it's only 2 weeks remaining anyway. The countdown has begun!

    Good luck!

Unfortunately we will not be able to assist you with your request. Consular Section conducts the immigrant visa interviews once per week and November is fully scheduled.

Wow! Once a week! That is crazy!

Ok perfect! thank you, i sent the email, my reason is that they lost my documents that caused a 5 month delay, i sent them proof, tracking number and confirmation letter of recepeit, hopefully they approve it :), how long does it take for them to respond?

It depends on your embassy..but a minimum of 5 days.

    Yeaaaaaah

    I just got my 3rd N/A today.....

My scan date was October 13.

    I am so glad.

hope a quick interview date and spend Christmas with my family.

    still no answer to expedite.....

    Good!

    Congrats!

  3. Dear VJ moderators, is there a new spreadsheet for the NVC process? (NOA2 thru CC).

I just realized that our Queen "Saylin" does not support hers anymore.

Note: I do not criticize her for her decision, she already has done a lot, her NVC Wiki guide is the "NVC gospel", a must read for all. If every one reads it, the traffic with s.... basic questions will decrease by 90%.

There is no spreadsheet anymore for Case Completes, only from Case Complete to Interview.

This is the most updated spreadsheet.

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xbLl_8yDgHLeDaLnTrPdYc44J0sjPSFfYCKxlKx6uTY/edit?usp=sharing#gid=0

My suggestion is to compare timelines from here.

    http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list.php?cfl=0&op1=i&op2=d&op3=&op4=1&op5=5,6,8,10,11,13,14,15,16,17,18,20,21,22,25,26,27,28,108,110,111,208,210,211&op6=All&op66=All&op7=All&dfile=No&adv=

Otherwise keep an eye out for members from your related country...and look in their signatures for specific timelines.

DWheels76 manages the NVC Process threads, so she is the one you can ask, if I did not help.

Just checked CEAC and now have 3 N/A's. Will call in the morning to confirm case complete. Scan Date Oct 29th.

    Congrats!

I got my case number today after a long wait of 3 weeks, i got case number and invoice number, but when i went online, i got the error message that my case is in process of termination, fee payments and online forms can no longer be accepted.

    Any suggestion???

That is only because your case is very new into the system.

    Keep trying.

  4. Update on the medical exam now that my husband has completed it:

Hubby waited about 2 hours to be seen by Dr. Awa Kane on Weds Nov 11. A nurse simply examined him (full body exam).

The next day (November 12th) he went for his x-ray and blood test at two different locations. Got the x-ray results the same day.

Friday the 13th, he returns to get blood results.

November 16: He returned to Dr. Kane's office to turn in x-ray and blood results, and finally finished with the medical exam. He actually received the medical results in a sealed envelope the same day he delivered the blood and x-ray results. He said he had to go get the vaccine needed (he does not have a vaccine record) from another location. He paid 10,000 CFA for the vaccine. Altogether it took about 4 hours that day.

So I guess my suggestion for you is to schedule the medical exam a minimum of 5 working days before the interview. It is literally a 4-day process. But also call to make an appointment first with Dr. Kane before calling any of the other two.

if you choose to make an appointment with Dr. Kane, you would have to be patient on the phone as English is not their first language. The menu is in French, the first receptionist you speak to is speaking in French. I googled how to say English please in French, and just repeated myself until I heard "hello". It doesn't matter who makes the call. I asked hubby to make the call originally. He got impatient and simply told me they speak French. But when I called (thru Google Voice or Rebtel), I waited a couple of minutes and got thru to an English speaking person.

So, excluding paying for transportation to and from each location, he paid 70,000 CFA for the entire medical exam.

    I hope this helps.

  5. Well one of the first things is to pay the $165 ELIS fee so the Green card can begin being processed.

If you or whoever filled out the DS 260 and answered yes to the question asking if you want a social security card/number...then wait a minimum of 10 days.

Otherwise you can go to your local SS office, and apply in person.

The temporary stamp your wife received in passport is good for getting work, travel, and ssn.

  6. But they did. Actually I didn't expect the interview today. I didn't bring any chat or call Logs. All I have with me packet 3 and photos, tickets and boarding pass. During the interview, they asked me if I have done the medical. I told them I scheduled on November 16. Consular told me my visa is approved. Once they receive my medical report and they will issue my visa. Medical result will take 3-4 working days.

    Wow!

    Congratulations!

  7. photos question

Are the 4 photos for MedicL exam the same as the 2 photos required for the consulate interview?

I know they have to be 2in X 2in. What do you tell the photo studio

Are the US passport photos or Green Card photos ?

The place is asking me if it's for Green Card immigration. Or US passport photos. ?

They all have to be the same thing, the same size. 2x2 on white background....passport sized photos.

  8. Received welcome letter. Do I choose an agent, pay bill n then send package ( still putting things together) or do I choose an agent n pay bill when package is ready to send off

    Congrats!

Go ahead and choose agent and pay bill.

Send the documents as soon as you have everything together. Be sure to double and triple check your package.

You have time to send it...you can even send it up until the time you pay your IV Fee and complete DS 260.

When you submit your documents, really depends on you, as far as how quickly you would hope to have your case to continue moving once everything is submitted.

  9. Thanks, Zaakirah! This was very helpful, especially the second link, which I bookmarked immediately. I really appreciate the friendly help and feedback I've been getting here.

I see that your interview is this week, on 18 November. Safe travels, and best wishes for a good appointment!

Thank you! It's my husband's interview date!

But I will be there from a distance...a phone call away. :)

  10. Where and How do you confirm the interview date and print out the interview letter confirmation ?

If you have received the P4 Interview letter email, it should be clearly stated in there. That is the confirmation that you can print.

I have to admit this supervisor review business has me scratching my head. It seems the standard script reading at NVC is "Supervisor Review" or "We don;t have this and that document you must send it again". Like is there a troll in their office eating peoples documents. people delayed for months sending the same dang document 2 ,3 ,4 times. I'm not even at NVC and I am frustrated to all heck. I am sorry for you all. There is no excuse.

I don;t want to be president Just head of immigration well at least over USCIS and NVC and all embassies. Boy there would e some consistency I am telling you.

Sorry venting for my peeps here.

You know they have job openings for that right? You would be great at it.

Hello every 1 :D, if we request for our case to be expedited for an interview, will it cause a delay?

Nope. No delay. My expedite request was approved, and it actually speeded up the interview process.

if you get denied, there is no delay...it is just back to regular processing.

  11. Good Morning, Afternoon, or Evening

I have on interview on 12/15 I have not received my P3 email yet Medical Examination. I would like to make this process as simple as possible and since I really have to get this right the first time around. Congratulations on getting an interview date!

I have read every post in this form and I want to make sure the husband ready for both the interview and the medical exam.

    Medical Review

Should be done 3 weeks prior to interview date

    Medical Review Letter

    Current Passport

    ID

    25,000 CFA (1605 GMD) (42 USD) Medical

    20,000 CFA (1284 GMD) (33 USD) X-Ray

20,000 CFA (1284 GMD) (33 USD) Blood Work

    20,000 CFA (1284 GMD) (33 USD) Vaccinations

    10-14 2x2 Passport Photos

Setup an Appointment depending on Doctor

He will need to have x-rays, vaccinations and a sealed envelope to take with him to him Interview Date

Insha’Allah all this will go over smoothly

***Did the currency conversion so that anyone can reply back…

    Interview Date:

Should be 1 hour early for the appointment

    Interview Letter

Sealed envelope from the Medical Exam

    Current Passport

    ID

    AOS Application

    IV Application

Pay slips from January 2015 to November 2015

W-2 for the last 3 years

    Bank Statement

    2-4 2x2 Passport Photos

Proof of Marriage: Wedding Photos, Affidavits from family and friends, Phone records, Copy of my SS Card, and DL to prove I change my last name, Marriage Certificate

Original and Copy of the following: His birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, Copy of Gambian Police Report, Passport

--If your spouse can get it done three weeks beforehand, great. because the process itself really does take 3-4 days and the expenses definitely add up to stay in Dakar from Gambia for 3 weeks before interview.

Based off of the letter I received from the Embassy and based off of communicating with Dr. Kane's office, It is 35,000 CFA for Medical. Approximately 25,000 CFA for X ray, 5,000 CFA for blood test and 7,000-10,000 CFA for vaccinations.

You will need 10-12 passport photos. 10 Photos for the Dr.'s office. Dr. Awa Kane's office only needed 4. And then only 2 passport photos is needed at the embassy.

For the interview, a minimum of 1 hour early, yes.

    The passport is the ID.

The IV application...they really only need the barcoded confirmation page.

Make sure the photos have details written on the back of them

    Otherwise, it looks good.

I personally sent my husband a cover letter that looks like the one above to help him stay organized in the expandable folder I sent for him to take to interview.

  12. Hello, VJ Members.

I am a U.S.-born citizen/resident looking to bring my UK-born citizen/resident husband to the U.S. on a CR1 visa (we were married in the U.S. this July). We had originally intended that I would move over there, but have recently reconsidered and are investigating the alternative.

Here's the catch: I am unemployed and have been so for the past two years. I will soon be moving back to my home state of NY, where my parents live, and they are willing to co-sponsor my husband to come here. I have a job lined up in NY, but will obviously not have sufficient recent employment/income history to sponsor my husband myself.

In light of this situation, I have a couple of questions.

    1. Is it even possible for me to sponsor my husband if I have to rely on my co-sponsor for 100% of the income/assets requirement? If not, what do I have to be able to demonstrate before we can do this?

    2. How does the process differ if I have a co-sponsor? Is there an up-to-date guide on this site for how a co-sponsored CR1 actually works, step-by-step from the first form onwards?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Cheers,

    Lauren

Since you said you have not started filing yet...it could take anywhere from 3-10 months just to get thru the first part of the filing process. That should be enough to establish income from your new job.

See this link for the poverty guidelines; the minimum you or anyone else needs to make in order to sponsor.

    http://www.uscis.gov/i-864p

If your parents are going to co-sponsor, check out this link

    http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Step_4_Collect_Financial_Documents.html

But you won't really have to urgently have an idea on your income until you reach the NVC stage.

In regards to your last two years, it won't matter as much in the end, because most embassies look at current year's income, however, you still need to show documentation (proof of unemployed payments, letter stating unemployment) once at NVC stage.

  13. hi all

I did not receive any reply after applying for expedite on oct 28th. However, i received case complete email on 11th nov and now interview letter today. I dont if they are processing it normally or as per expedite request?

    This is regular processing.

You would have received an email response from nvcexpedite@state.gov saying that the embassy approved your expedite.

It is not too late to send that email if you have not so that your embassy can fit you into an earlier slot.

  14. I'm trying to get an estimated timeframe from case complete to interview and I don't see Belize on the case complete/interview spreadsheet.

Can anyone tell me where I may be able to find this information?

My only suggestion, if you were not able to find it on the spreadsheet...take a look in your country portal's and Belize member's timeline's and estimate from there.

Some users have included their case complete date in their signature.
