For those who have submitted the new i-864. Did you put n/a or none in every single box that did not have anything to do with your case?
Or did you leave them blank?
Especially the last few pages which are all about an interpreter...I have left them completely blank.

From my understanding, if you have the tax transcripts...you do not need the W-2's...The W-2's are only for if you included tax return photocopy instead.

Have you both gotten to have a talk and sit down as to what is bothering each of you?
From what I read, he became this way once he arrived into the states.
If he does not have any manly responsibilities, what is he doing for you?
Maybe that is the root of his problem.
But have you both talked about how you each feel?

Hi,
I have a question about the AOS Package. I have not sent off mine yet, just want to triple check.
I have a joint sponsor for the petition for my husband, however, I am still doing all I can to prove my own income on my i-864.
So, since I am self-employed with three different types of positions (photographer, videographer, social media manager), as well as seasonally employed as a photographer, I have included the amount I have made this year so far from those jobs, and plan to make (social media contracts last until December) on the question that asks about my current annual income on the 864.
I also have a couple of investment dividends that are being deposited into my bank account. I do plan on including 6 months bank statements/deposits.
How can I make sure I have included all of that and estimated my current annual income correctly?
I suck at math.
-
The only thing Is that I am self-employed.
And for 2013, I did make more than $400.
So I did make sure to get that in, so that I have an amount to put down on the 864 for the year 2013.
Thanks!

P.s. I suck at math.

What is the best method of mailing to NVC? i am considering USPS because it is cheapest. But I see cases of mail getting lost. What do you suggest?
-
I finally got thru to the NVC. I called (one of many times) and got thru at 11:15pm.
Was on hold for 15 minutes.
Was not able to review the DS-261 because it was so late, however I did triple check about the passport photos, and it is true, NVC no longer needs passport photos. That is only for the beneficiary to bring to the interview.

My question about the IV package is the passport photos of my husband. I sent one with the USCIS. But Seeing that they request two, I have asked hubby to send me two more, which means he has to mail them to me. So how important are the passport photos if he is also going to bring them to Interview? My passport photos are not required right? I have not been able to get thru to NVC today, their phone lines are busy!

Hi There,
I've been having some issues with calling NVC and getting in touch with the right department - this has happened 3 times now. I am at the stage where I have filled out the DS 261, paid the AOS fee, and am waiting for the DS 260 to be available to me along with the IV invoice.
- I call 603-334-0700
- I press 1 for English (the only other option is 2 for Spanish, if I don't press anything, I get disconnected)
- I press 1 to speak to customer rep (no other option, if I don't press anything, I get disconnected)
- When I get connected to a rep after ~25-30 minutes, they take my NVC case number, check on their side, and say that I've pressed a wrong button, because they are only handling cases where the interview has already been scheduled/taken place, and that they will connect me to the right department. When they do that, I either get disconnected, or I come back to the same department again.
Anyone else facing this? Any pointers on what I might be doing wrong?
Thanks

I want to ask in this thread too because my case is the exact same thing. I have a co sponsor who is well over the poverty line, however I have only filed 2014 taxes. I had a w2 because I got a seasonal job as well as some self employment income (I am a photographer). For 2013, I was self employed but just didn't file; I was living off of my medical lawsuit lumpsump. For 2012 it is the same thing, except I was in school, used that money for school and living but just did not file. I am currently at NVC stage. I have not submitted 864 package for my husband yet. What should I do?
-
Hi.
I filed Married but separate for 2014 taxes.
However I did not file for 2013 yet (I did file an extension) and did not file 2012 (I was in school).
I am at NVC stage now. Is that something I should work on before submitting my 864 package?
If not, what else can I do or include on my 864 form when they ask for past three years amount?
I have a co sponsor who is well over the poverty line and has filed all three years.
-
Thank you.
As far as taxes, what happens if I did not file in 2013 and 2012 (I was in school)
but I did file in 2014?
My co-sponsor has filed all three years.

To add on to my post...since this is my first time posting in here...
My NOA1 date was March 18, my NOA2 date was August 10th. I called today for the very first time to receive my case number and invoice number. So far I have submitted DS 261 form and fee for my husband.

(Copying My Post from a different thread)
Hi,
I have not seen this in here yet, so I am not sure if you know about it, but did you know NVC's phone directory has changed?
I freaked out at first because I was following the NVC wiki when I heard the differences, but here they are:
Call 603-334-0700
They will say if this is for a nonimmigrant case please call 603-334-0888
After that they will say for English Press 1, for Spanish (Espanol) press 2
Followed by a Spanish interpretation of what was just said.
The new phone options:
Press 1 for information on your case if it is at embassy or consulate
Press 2 to confirm that NVC has received any mail that was sent to them
Press 3 for choosing an agent or asking about invoice number (the selection I chose to find out my case number)
Press 4 to confirm or set an interview date
Press 5 to verify your priority date
Press 6 to change your mailing address
Press 7 for any other questions
Press 0 to hear the options again

Hi,
So here is my situation.
I am self employed.
I live with my parents.
Both of my parents are on fixed government income. I do not make enough money to be the sole sponsor.
My co sponsor is a friend who lives in a different state and has a goverment job. Between my self employment income and hers, we will be well over the poverty line.
However, my questions are:
Which poverty level line should I be referring to?
Altogether once my husband arrives, it will be a household of 4, do I need to include all 4 people or should I say it is just the 2 of us?
Also, do I have to include anything about my parents, even though their income is the one for household expenses only, do they have to fill out a form?

So I just received my NOA2 thru email and double checked on myuscis! Approved!! My Priority date: March 18, and approved today August 10, a little under 5 months at Nebraska Service Center. God is good. My advice: continue being patient, and keeping busy, and staying positive, and maintaining communication with your spouse as well as your service center.

Hello everyone cangrdlation to those who got approval. I'm March 18 do I need to call USCIS now or I witt tell after the end of this month . I check the status daily in the web site nothing happened and no change from day one please advice me what to do thanks to all of you and god bless you
Hi. Mine is also March 18th. I was going to wait until next week, until it has been exactly five months to call.
-
I filed mine in March and I received NOA1 in March. Now just waiting.

Is this for all insurance? Or just life insurance? The fact that you can add a spouse who is not located in the U.S. yet and is without a Social Security Number.
-
Thank you all for your advice!

FYI They stop taking calls at 11:30pm EST. The message that says that they are closed is what comes on if calling at exactly 11:30pm.
I have gotten through by calling at exactly 11:15pm after a few back to back tries.
