  1. So I have read differing opinions, Is it better to immediately send off the AOS package and then wait until the IV fee is paid to send off the IV package or wait and send together?

    It is up to you.

You are welcome to send the package as soon as you pay the AOS fee.

I personally waited until close to the time of reviewing my DS 261 so my case would be unlocked.

But whichever you decide, do send BOTh the AOS documents AND IV package together. In Two separate Manila envelopes, but together in one big envelope.

  2. Hi ZaakirahDemba, I just followed the instructions to find out if my case was received. I heard where you could "get your Invoice number" however I wasn't sure if I was applicable to do so. So, no I did not ask for any numbers, just if it was received. So how do I go about receiving them?

You need your invoice number in order to pay for your AOS fee online. So select that phone option and ask for both your case number and your invoice number. After you get those number, you log onto ceac.state.gov enter your case number and invoice number and pay and then complete the DS 261 choice of agent form.

  3. I called NVC, they received my case on the 24th. They said it would take up to 42 days to receive all the information. Is there any way to obtain it quicker? Thank you!

What specifically do you ask when you call?

Do you directly ask for your case number and invoice number?

When I called...after estimating 10 days from USCIS...I simply asked for my case number and invoice number and I got it.

I forgot to ask when it was received, so I calculated the case number in Julian dates.

  4. I did not see the thread started yet for those who have their file transferred from a service center to NVC, so I started this thread.

I know there will be a lot of questions and comments, so let's try to keep it all organized in here! :)

First and foremost, if you are new to the NVC process, please view this link below that details the steps for NVC process.

Any other questions can go in this thread!

I too am still in NVC.

I have a couple of more steps to do before waiting on Case Complete.

    Happy October!

    Good luck to All.

  5. Happy New Month? I am excited to start this new thread also. I am praying that this month I will get my interview date. Praying for us all. Good luck everyone.

    I found you again.

haha, but I made a post about my concern about my visa case, because I submitted documents before I was even invoiced the IV bill. luckily I received the bill through email days after my DS 261 was unlocked, but I am still concerned about whether or not I will receive a checklist, because it has been a week since my IV bill was invoiced, it has also been a week since NVC sent me an email stating they received my AOS and IV docs (scan date). I have not paid the IV bill nor started DS 260, I am still waiting on funds. So seeing your timeline was a refresher for me. Seems like they will not do anything until they get their money.

  6. So today makes 30 days since my case has been at NVC.

It also makes a whole week since NVC sent me an email stating they received my AOS/IV docs.

I have read about some cases getting checklists because they sent the documents before completing the DS 260.

I haven't even been able to pay the $325 IV Bill yet, due to my own personal reasons.

So I am feeling slightly concerned.

I really do not want a checklist.

    Should I feel concerned?

  7. I can't believe it!

And I was thinking about you all day yesterday and today wondering how your interview went!

That really does not seem fair at all.

Yes, you need to take immediate action before you leave the country.

There is a way around this. This is just a temporary delay.

You are an amazing person. You have helped me with so much in my VisaJourney. You will get through this!

  8. Sent in my AOS and IV documents today, should arrive tomorrow! woohoo.

Have a couple of questions related to NVC. I tried calling today and had an unhelpful agent... I asked to talk to a supervisor, she put me on hold for a minute then came back and said one isn't available and one will cal me back 'soon.' Has anyone had supervisors actually call back, or should I just try calling again to get a different more helpful agent?

I have read that supervisors don't always actually call back, so your best bet is to simply call again.

My account is still locked and the DS-261 hasn't been reviewed since I submitted it on Sept 18. Would like this reviewed quickly so that we can pay the IV bill and fill out the DS-260 before they start reviewing the documents I just sent in...

My DS-261 was locked for about two weeks too. However, I did read somewhere that if you tell them that you are ready to pay the IV Bill, that will encourage them to hurry up and unlock it. Of course they want their money!

More importantly, the address that NVC has for the beneficiary is wrong - the street address and postal code are correct, but whoever on their end entered it into the system put in the country as her country of nationality instead of her country of residence. The agent I spoke to today told me they won't be able to change this on the phone and I will have to submit to NVC an to make the change, which will have a 45 day review time. I asked why this is if it is incorrect data entry, and the agent didn't have a response...

There is a phone option in which you can select update address, hopefully you can get thru on that option to update the address. But if not then, unfortunately, yes you have to email this to NVC. Someone else on here will be able to give you the proper email.

My question is: Does anyone have experience dealing with an address incorrectly input by NVC? Does it matter if the address on the welcome letter is wrong? We got all the documents via email, and my wife will put her correct address on the DS-260. Should I follow up with the supervisor on this or just let it go and hope it doesn't cause any issues down the road?

I believe as long as the correct address is on the DS-260, as that is the document that the embassy will be referring to, and the address that will be used for green card purposes, then it should be okay. If you are the choice of agent, and everything is going to you, then it should be okay. If not, then try to make sure that the choice of agent is able to get their email address added, so that all correspondence is emailed.

  9. Saw the magical 3rd N/A on CEAC website today and called NVC....the representative confirmed that it is a CC!!!! :D

    I'm sooooo happy!!

Scan date was September 3 :)

    Your timeline is ideal!

I am studying it in admiration!

I hope you do not have a long wait for an interview!

    Congrats and good luck!

Be sure to update your timeline here too please so we can follow

  10. To be honest I don't understand it to this day, but I am not questioning it, however:

I received an email from USCIS that they sent my case on August 19th to NVC.

I estimated 7-10 business days before I called to get my case and invoice number, so I called on September 2nd. After about 7 tries, I got through on the option that said choose and agent/get invoice number. I simply said, I would like to know my case number and invoice number. and she gave it to me.

I forgot to ask when they received it, so I decided to to a little math and figure out the date they received it by calculating the Julian Dates (the 3 numbers after the year in your case number)
And apparently they received it or assigned case number August 31st which is 3 days before I called.

SO I guess I am sharing this to help you all do your own judgement. Every case is truly different.

  11. I hope they send you the IV fee so you can pay and complete the DS-260 as soon as possible.

I've just received an email from NVC saying that our docs were received on the 23rd and to allow them 30 days for reviewing them. So, you should get the same email today as well. :-) Hoping for a fast CC for all of us!

(For the record, docs sent on the 22nd, received on the 23rd by NVC, email confirmation from NVC sent today, 25th)

    Yes.

I received my email today, the 25th, that they received the docs on the 24th.

I have received my IV bill, now I am just waiting to proceed with the funds.

Sounds like we might finish this thing together almost!
