    hello all,

Alhamdulillah my husband got his Visa today. he had his interview June 29. he said the interview was smooth, the senegalese guy with the dreads did try to give him some problems. he said the CO was nice he did his interview in French, they asked him how we met, when we seen each other, if we been previously married, if we had kids, where i work and what i do. he also answered these questions by giving them extra details so for example they asked what i did for a living he went on to tell them what school i went to and what i studied this helps your case, they also asked him what language we communicated in. i did send in call logs or chats before hand so she asked him if he had any of that with him and he should them. for call logs i took screen shots of whatsapp that show the call how long, chats we had and also screenshots of our video calls with my nieces and nephews and his other family and put it in a word doc. they liked the visual. at the end of the interview they gave him a green sheet and told him to come back the following thursday. when he went to pick up his visa the first time it wasn't ready they said they had technical issues and to come back 7-13-2017 which was the following thursday after that. note: my ceac status did change from ready to administrative processing for 3 days or so. it changed to administrative processing for 2 days and then it changed to issued.

i wish you all the best of luck with upcoming interviews just be calm and patient and if it is real relationship it will work out in the end inshaAllah.

Congratulations! And thanks for the detailed response for the others who will read this!

  2. Thanks for the congrats - He picked it up today !!! We are so excited, something about finally having it in your hand after four years of working towards being united. He went at 2 and they went inside after signing in, they called people in their own order, not according to the list. We made it!!

Great to hear! Be sure to fill in your Timeline as well so others from Senegal/Senegal Embassy can follow your timeline experience in the future! Need help? See my link below in my signature.

  3. Thank you for your thoughts I was just venting. I didn't have issue with polygamy sorry you have the wrong person. They did request more evidence and we provided more and now we have been waiting.more than 60 days and are now being adived it takes 90 days. Again thank you for the advice but I only needed to vent.

    I completely understand your frustration.

Dakar, Senegal can get like that, unfortunately.

The only thing you can do is wait...after you've done all you can.

    Prayers up for you.

You are more than welcome to vent...that's what this thread is for.

  4. Greetings,

So my husband was in a car accident.

All is well...he is fine...but it just had me thinking about the what if scenario.

He just arrived into the U.S. 60 days ago (waiting for the green card still as I type this) and got his driver license a few days ago.

But had the accident turned out badly...he would have had nothing.

    Right?

He has a bank account...social security number...but no life insurance...no will and testament.

Had he died, how would that work? What would happen?

What would I need to do?

Where can I find information on his rights as an immigrant if he was to be suddenly deceased?

    Thank you in advanced.

  5. Hey y'all, Amadou here I have my mom petition sent to Dakar for interview she coming to Dakar Friday from Guinée, Conakry. It's an IR5 petition Son petitioned for mom I am very nervous she speaks only Fulani and is set to interview on February 9th. Told her take all my pics new, old, baby pics of us in the pics, Plus I was there in October we took very recent ones, money transfer receipts my birth certificate with her to the interview but truth be said I am very nervous.

I would appreciate any input anyone has to help thanks.

All I can say is there may be an option for a translator. At the time they were very low on staff...so my husband was the translator for those who spoke his local language of Mandinka.

I can also advise you to have her bring every single thing that they suggest you bring. You do not want problems/delays there. And as long as you frontloaded (submitted evidence beforehand)...you should be okay.

    Good luck!

  6. My husband had his interview today, and despite my income being enough he was told to get a joint sponsor (probably because a good portion of my income is new) and also we had lots of relationship documentation but she requested original facebook conversation from when we met. I deleted that account shortly after we met - but thanks be to God that my husband kept his and has them. She said to bring those two things back for his approval.

Now to get a joint sponsor - cant wait for this to be finished

Glad she was thorough! Hope it's an easy process here on out! Good luck!

  7. Hi everyone.

I hope your new year is off to a good start.

Sorry everyone is having such difficulties with the Dakar Embassy.

    They can truly be unpredictable.

The only advice I have, as mine and my husband's case was pretty smooth...be sure to frontload and bring more pictures to the interview.

If you have already made it to the NVC stage and have not submitted more documents...keep in mind that by the time your ceac.state.gov visa case status checker says ready...the Embassy has already made their decision. So if you can, where it says submit evidence on the checklist...submit more evidence that NVC can forward to the Embassy which will be included with your file from USCIS.

So...it's obvious now that the Dakar Embassy's consulate officers are visual people...they want to see different types of evidences...most importantly pictures.

    That's what I submitted...not just viber...or Facebook...or pictures...
I submitted his name on a life incusrance policy and affidavits...among other things.

    Good luck!

  8. I submitted my expedite request (medical reason) December 15, got a response,

"The National Visa Center (NVC) received your request to expedite processing of this case. To process this request we need additional information. Please resubmit your request with the following:

    Name of the petitioner;

    Name, date and country of birth of the beneficiary;

Beneficiary's foreign address and two foreign telephone numbers.

You can email this information to nvcexpedite@state.gov."

I resubmitted everything with the additional information they asked for. Hopefully I will hear something soon. I sent the expedite request right after they told me my case arrived at NVC even without a case number yet.

    Good Luck!

  9. Don't forget about the option of screenshot excerpts of conversations. That's okay too.

For those who did get approved, how many phone records and other communications such as viber and Skype did you provide?

I included "all" Skype Conversations, "all" viber conversations (Saved to my email and then onto an excel spreadsheet), and "all" our facebook Messages.

Hubby and I knew each other for a year at the time that I filed, so I included one year's worth of conversations. So...it was a heavy file, filled with a majority of Facebook messages.

  10. But the only thing is that I entered hubby's passport info into the I-94 system and a number showed up.

I will take that paper that I printed from the website to the temporary agency.

And yes the A number (Alien Registration Number) is also on the passport.

So I will find a page or something that will help them understand the stamp...which..yes..is right in the middle of the passport as a part of the visa.

  11. Hi. So my husband has been here in the States for 3 weeks on the CR-1 visa. We have been applying for jobs.
He received his SSN after applying in office within 1 week.
We are applying for a job through a temporary agency and today they ask for his I-94 number. Neither one of us had any clue what that was. So I looked it up and was able to get it from the DHS.GOV website.
But I still don't understand why they need it if my husband's passport has his Visa Case Number, alien registration information and the I-551 stamp.
    So...Why?
    Thanks in advanced.

  12. Congratulations Everyone!!

My husband was able to receive his Social Security Card in the mail Monday.

Unfortunately, we had to fill out an application at the local SS office.

That arrived about a week after filing.

However, we were able to get the SS Number three days after filing, so we could begin applying for jobs for him.

I did check yes in the online immigration form, but like I have read many times on here, they may not actually send it or put your information in the system.

  13. Hello everybody!

Us embassy asked me original affidavit of support

After 2 weeks they called me to say me now i need joint sponsor:

My question is what a joint sponsor has to file and what documents he has to send me thanks all

Get a joint sponsor just in case.

A joint sponsor is someone else whose income for the latest year (in this case 2015) is well over the 125% poverty line.

    I had a joint sponsor.

She makes more than the poverty line.

Sometimes the income was met..but only by a couple of thousands.

My joint sponsor for example...her annual income was $42,000.

Your joint sponsor also has to submit an aos form (i-864), and submit the tax returns for the past year. as well as any w-2's or tax worksheets.
