  1. Lol. So far the only instance they annoyed me after my first post was when they parked on their yard but they had to drive around the community mailbox (haha the mailbox is on their yard). They had to use our driveway so that they can park behind that mailbox. I shouldve moved my car to the other side of our driveway to block his way out... that wouldve been awesome.

  2. Yeah, i've talked to them a few times these past couple of months and they are still doing it but not daily like before. We ended up parking one of our cars on the driveway instead of inside the garage to make sure they know that they can't park even partially in front of the driveway.

And now they opted to park just in front of our house and NOT in front of their house (maybe bc of the tree shade, idk) It just annoys me, i guess they don't know common courtesy... and to top it off, they are not friendly at all!

  3. Yea my house is in the country and there is really no traffic, no taxis and no buses as well, so she is gonna have to learn quick, I'm thinking golf cart first for a while, go get the mail and then the car hahahah

    too easy.. no way :)

Youre so lucky living out in the country, i would love to live where the next neighbor is a mile away from our house hahaha :) i believe its best to let her start learning in the car you got her. :) am sure its not stick so i bet she'll learn in no time :)

but most of the advices i heard...husband should not be the one to teach their wife to drive or you will end up divorcing each other lol.

Lol i hope thats not true though. Hahaha!

  4. My husband is still teaching me how to drive and I know I still have a long way to go before I can take my dmv test. Go out in the country where there arent any cars around and teach her there for a while. For me, i needed a little bit of a push so after i got used to driving the car, he had me drive where there are a little bit of traffic.

But now that I started working (i take the bus for now), we dont have enough time for my lessons so we decided that i'll just take classes in a driving school. We're still choosing which one though. :)

    Good luck!

  5. one last question. The letter we received states it came from the application support center but, it states "Attention A-File ############" then it has Re: X I130 petition for Alien Relative Re: X I-485. we only filed the AOS (which included the advance parole which he has in hand already since November and his authorization to work permit) Do you think the I-130 is a mistake? don't want them to say we missed something... thoughts?

Yep you need to call them about the i130 if you didnt file one. If the tier 1 call center agent couldnt help you, ask for a tier 2 person.

  6. thanks so much thespoons and congrats on your recent success! I hope things get done on our end. so frustrating sometimes as it is not your fault and they mess you up!

they said it would cost 149 to do everything the medical exam and fill out the papers. we can handle 149.

    Thanks!

Good that the CS fee is cheaper. :) yeah i was in the same boat as you but it was after my interview as they lost a document (something from the airport immigration officer) and they had to request it from my POE. That delayed the approval for 9 days. Still I am thankful that it only took 9 days as the IO told us that it could take weeks, and it was because of something that THEY lost.

Goodluck on your aos and I think you should give them a call about why your case was assigned in their Idaho field office (unless that is the nearest one from where you're located).

    Cheers!

  7. Hi all! So frustrated...... I can slap USCIS!!!! Here is our story. We were scheduled to have my husband's AOS interview 12/17 but the genius' cancelled it. well, even online to date still says that as of 11/22. Anyhow, with no status updates I checked the mail and a darn letter came from freaking IDAHO application support center??!!! how the heck did our papers get to ID and why???!!! ugghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Then, says he needs to submit a copy of his original birth certificate in English (He did this already idiots duh! and what language would it be in he's British!!!!) Also, says he needs to submit medical examination form I-693 and supplemental form I-693 immunizations.... hello... did they not get that when they took that huge packet from him when he entered the country that SHOULD have been filed to USCIS? someone please help me understand so that he can get this done. luckily, he is traveling in England right now so he can hopefully get it done there and it would be MUCH cheaper than over here in the U.S. He is traveling on his adv parole. Then they have the nerve to say has to be submitted within 30 days... smh!

to my reply above, Does that mean he needs to do a medical all over again and resubmit his immunization record? That is So stupid when clearly they are the ones that have the huge envelope with everything in it.

I am sorry this happened to you. I know how frustrating it can be. I am not an expert but i'll try to answer some of your questions. But first, is the letter you received an RFE letter? If yes, then you definitely need to send the documents listed there and within the time period the letter said. As for the i693, only a civil surgeon can complete that form so i am not sure if he can do that in UK. You can find a list of CS on the USCIS website and give them a call to ask for the rates. Its normally about $200 for the whole I693. Good luck!

  8. In response to Robert Half Technologies, they are a decent Staffing Agency, Their work is mostly contract work with some chance of long term commitment. I used to do jobs for them, over the course of 2 years they assigned me 6 different positions with different companies, all positions were contract only with no conditions for permanent placement.

They do receive permanent placement requests, but they usually reserve those for the people that have been in their system the longest without receiving a permanent job.

Now don't get me wrong the contract jobs are definitely worth your while for a couple reasons.

    1. they provide income

    2. they provide US based work experience

    3. they provide the staffing agency with feedback from the client that is saved in your file and useful for when permanent placement positions you are qualified open up.

    4. they allow you to list them on your resume for future job applications to other companies that have open positions.

Robert Half in my experience treats their placement employees well. For instance, I was contracted to do some routine network maintenance on a Cisco network and Avaya phone system at a local Cadillac dealership many moons ago. I arrived 30 minutes early to check in with the client, but my contact was not available, I waited 1 hour (30 minutes past the scheduled start time for the job), and the contact was still not present. I immediately contacted my recruiter and explained the situation. He advised me to stay put at the dealership, and he would reach out to the client. He called me back 10 minutes later and explained that the client "forgot" that they scheduled the job, and would be with me in an hour. I stayed, finished the job, ect.. all in all I spent 4 hours there. Robert Half billed the client for 6 hours of labor due to breach of contract, and paid me for all 6 hours instead of only the 2 hours actually spent working on the job.

This is great to know. I have signed a contract with Robert Half last monday but still waitig for an assignment since they couldnt put me in a job with a bit of commute, not yet anyway as I dont have a DL yet. Hehehe. So yeah I am still keeping my options open hopefully I get a job soon. :) thank you for the feedback!

  9. why not just put it in a suitcase and check it? Suitcase size luggage is not allowed in the main cabin(as another poster suggested), only carry on size,They are very strict with these rules especially when flying international. Jet Blue flights they even make you check carry on luggage because there is no space in the over head bins. I just traveled Jet Blue to Denver and the only thing I was allowed to take in the main cabin was my purse, I had to check my carry on.

I quite disagree on the part where you said a person cannot bring a suitcase in the cabin because you can bring it as a carry on AS LONG AS IT MEETS THE SIZE/DIMENSION REQUIREMENTS of the airline. You may be right about jetblue though so OP would need to check and do some research about it. :)

To OP, if you are really worried about this, just check in your dress or better yet ship it. Good luck! :)

  10. When you called the cops where you out there with the cops or did you keep yourself inside? Maybe they're looking at you that way because your first reaction was to call the cops than to walk up there and talk to them?

Oh we called the cops after that. They just drove away after the girl got something from the car and FIL checked it and saw the little dog. When husband got home, that's when we called the cops.

  11. Well since it sounds like they're not even in the car the whole time I doubt they are scouting the neighborhood checking your routines. Sounds more like someone hit a rough patch in life and is now living there. Sounds like they're just homeless. Having them towed is just going to take the only roof over their head they have.

Maybe, maybe not. But you couldn't really tell as the inside of the car is all covered up. What made me scared and started my concern about it was when someone parked behind it and the driver made a girl grab something from it. And while my FIL and I was outside seeing this the driver sneered at my FIL. So yeah, that is a little shifty to me...
