This goes out to Gemini and anybody else who will be doing a k1 visa is in the future...
I'm sorry you got denied but when it comes to something important like this, you should always read the directions. Once you read the directions read them again another 2 or 3 times. Once you understand what is needed of you to do, go ahead and gather everything the directions ask you to do. Instead of just putting the basics in what it is asking you to do, put in extra ( I included 3 years of w-2's, 15 pictures, letters from both of my parents stating that there was a relationship between my fiance and me and that they were also in contact with my fiance, and a letter from my employer stating I was currently employed and in great standing at my job. I did all of this just for my I-129F packet) I know some of you might think all that is over-kill but hey, I love my fiance and I want to provide as much evidence as I can to show I care for her.
Ok.. Once your packet is completed(meaning everything the directions asked for) go through your packet over and over checking every signature, date and anything that is important, basically the whole packet.. If you feel that it is missing something or you have a bad feeling in your stomach about it, add more to it until you feel it is perfect. Once it is perfect, give it one final check ( I am glad I did because all the times I went through it before I overlooked a signature)
Do not forget to include a check or money order for the exact amount they are wanting. Not less than they want or not more than they want; the EXACT amount and be sure to follow the directions for filling out the check because they want it a certain way.
I know I have made this longer than needed to be but I am just trying to stress the importance of making sure your packet is correct for your sake and your partners sake. Don't make them wait any longer than needed..
    Good luck everyone!!!

Unless there is a medical or family emergency, I would go to the oath at the scheduled date.
How many days are there between your oath date and your friend's wedding? You can travel either before the oath if the wedding day is before the oath, or right after the oath (via getting a same-day passport at a passport agency) if the wedding is after your oath. As I said, I would attend the oath at the scheduled date.

Why don't you wait for the letter, then see what it says and find out if you still can do something with this application?
If you can, maybe you should get an advice from an immigration attorney.
If there's nothing you can do about this application, take a break, go on vacation with your fiance(e), and try filing again after some time. This would keep you and your love together and next time you file, do the best research you can and, if you're not so good with that, hire an attorney.
Best wishes and don't give up.

Are you seriously implying that a federal law enforcement officer of the United States would break the law of the land as well as international laws by confiscating what is property of the Australian government?

    Apparently that surprises you?
I almost always give no BS answers, direct, right to the point, brutally honest, without any presumptuous politeness, usually spiked with some irony or black humor attached.
Life is too precious to give boring responses.

Actually you cant just leave all fields blank. You are supposed to answer everything even if it is with an N/A or none in the space provided. Most of the instructions even state to answer ALL questions.
    - N/A is put when the question is not applicable to you.
    - None is put when you do not have what they are asking of you.

During the AOS stage, can't even be with your loved one, those days passed by very slowly. During the ROC, your loved one can't work nor travel, also extremely frustrating, but at least you are together. With naturalization, have the ten year card and a current valid foreign passport, unless applying for federal job, really not much changes with citizenship. That's the attitude we had, and for some strange reason, that was the phase the moved the quickest.
Often wonder if they have some means to monitor your stress, the more stress you are in, the longer it takes. We really didn't care about the final stage and before we knew, had to pack up all the evidence and study for that civics tests. Initial letter we got said would take about a year, was done in 4 1/2 months. Could be 4 1/2 seconds for the USCIS, or 4 1/2 millenniums for us.

We all have our own style. I work at Kentucky Fried Chicken and 'cause I had to go straight to work after the ceremony I wore my chicken costume to the Oath Ceremony. Boy, did I get weird looks. I mean all those losers are eating chicken anyway, but when they see a large chicken doing what chickens do, they act irritated. So the obese black girl asked me to remove the head and boy did I tell her to shove it!
Then, when waiting for Obama to appear, I watched porn on my iPad. The lady next to me rolled her eyes like she didn't like it, and I told her I'm not doing anything she ain't doin' at home, right? So I told her to hug herself. Then came the judge and he looked really . . . I mean . . . where do they find these people? So he talks and I get annoyed and crank up my iTunes. Must have been louder than I thought, 'cause several people shisht at me. I mean . . . what wrong with those guys? All in all, it was pretty lame from start to finish. Then they wanted me to give 'em my Green Card and I told 'em over my dead body #######! I finally left and can't really recommend doing this #######. No fun.

sure, you can - but really? - I mean, this is a very important, life changing event. Almost like being born again. You've waited a long time and worked very hard for this one day to happen - and then you're going to sit there hacking away on your laptop? Seriously?

Regardless of what I am doing, stop, scan the USCIS document, and carefully file the original away. Only takes a couple of minutes, and far better to take time off of work for another 450 mile drive.

I went for biometrics yesterday and got this email today. Now I don't know if I'll receive a letter requesting Certificate of Good Conduct from Police before of after interview. I'm crossing my fingers for receiving it before so they will have it in hands by time I have my interview.

Got the famous yellow letter yesterday. It says "THIS IS NOT AN INTERVIEW NOTICE" and it's requesting me to bring to the interview: state-issued driver's license or state-issued photo identification card.
I'm happy I got this yellow letter, it means my application is alive. That young lady from immigration we talked the other day said she was gonna research and I would be getting something soon by mail and maybe a new biometrics appointment letter. She did her part and I'm happy to see some activity. My online status is the same though.
