Good morning!! I woke up with good news. Our case got approved today, January 9, 2020. The status changed from transferred to a new card being processed. We never received any notification on why our case was transferred. I hope your case is next!

California filer here too. We haven't heard anything either. We contacted USCIS since we never received any notice on why our case was transferred. It's been months and no reply either.

From what I've seen there were movements on i-751 filers (case that was transferred last October) many got decisions already. RFE for a lot and Christmas miracle for some (with GC arriving on the Christmas week).

I knew this because I kind of tracked other case receipts (you know, changing the last one to two digits, it gets boring when you have to wait for so long lol).

FWIW, a case was approved on Jan 2, 2020 and his/her case was transferred since July 2019.

I only don't know if the approved/RFE cases were October filers. But it's encouraging to see that there are movements. As per UCSIC, i751 from Vermont & CSC was transferred to Potomac. I am only tracking WAC filers. I tracked up to a lot and it's really moving. I also made sure to check the i751 on the status. hahaha I know it's weird but I need something to do while waiting. 

Some people do Citizenship and i751 concurrently. Good luck! Hoping you'd be a citizen soon!

Same case with us before - invalid receipt number both on my account and USCIS status check.

It only updated after the fingerprint review was completed.

Really nothing you can do but wait, as long as you receive a notice before, you should be fine.

what does it say? 

Mine says error but it matches the receipt number and all. We received our extension letter (no biometrics yet) but wondering if this is normal.

no link or something. the paper is enough. it is detailed and informative enough. When you travel or apply for a job, bring your expired green card as mentioned on the paper.

Edited my info, we just received the actual notice in the mail last night, about two weeks after our text notice on the 8th of October. It included

an 18 month gc extension.

Not sure why they need that long but I am guessing they still control the number of applicants based on available visas. During my time, we waited 6 months before getting our welcome letter. It took me a week to complete our WL. This included paying and waiting for payments to clear. We were lucky as our payments got cleared very fast. 

I wait for no one so even before our WL arrived, our AOS and documents were ready for mailing. When our WL arrived we paid our invoices and printed our bar code pages. After one month, we got case complete.

Our pd was Feb 2015 and our NVC experience happend on Oct 2015. I think NVC changed its procedure already so I am not sure if my timeline is still accurate.

Thank you! Yes, we waited for his interview date for a year. This does not include waiting for the welcome letter. If you can submit his petition earlier, that would be better.

How long do we have to wait to complete the case? I am thinking of marrying my long time boyfriend from the Philippines this coming April 2016. Then, I am thinking of filing for I-130 to file a petition for him on probably last week of May or first week of June 2016. Can anyone please help me how to start, so I have an idea? thank you. By the way I will probably file the petition in Chicago Lockbox since I am from Illinois.

Timeline varies. It used to be 5 years, then 3 years and then lately 1 1/2 years... For us, our priority date is feb 3 2015, case complete on november 2015.. our interview date is this december 2016. hope this helps!

Hi All

I have a question, I filed for my husband in May 2015 and we have gone through submitting all the paperwork and awaiting an interview. In 2014 after we married, he went back home and applied to college in Atlanta and got accepted so he applied for student visa. He stayed for a year studying and was about to go back home when he got stopped on traffic stop. Note that when he came on his student visa he applied for a Georgia LIcense which was suppose to be for one year til end of course but we didnt realize that it expired on his exact last day of class so when he was stopped his license had just expired a couple days in front. He was arrested and we went to court and paid a fine. Do you think when he goes in for his interview it would be a problem with him getting his green card. I spoke to a lawyer friend and she advised him to take a copy of the disposition showing that it was just a traffic offense and explain to the consulate officer what happened and that it was not his intention to be driving without a license. This is his first time ever being in trouble with the law here or in our home country.

Not sure if our cases are the same, but my husband was here too from 2013 - 2014 under J1 visa studying and working as an intern at the same time. During his stay, he received two traffic violations. One is for parking without permit in Stanford Uni & failure to yield to pedestrians. While we didn't went to court, we paid $$ for his fine. We got his case completed a year ago and he will have his interview this month. His traffic violations were never brought up (I totally forgot about them until now, so thank you!). Hope this helps!

It is aligned with his number 10 policy... I think during his campaign (i can be wrong) he told that he is thinking of freezing green cards for at least 1 to 2 years. Historically wise, America decreased green card issuance sometime 1921, 1924 to 3% and 2% quota respectively (the quota now, if i remember correctly is 7%)

so let's all be proactive.. i don't understand him either - I mean, he is immigrant and his wife is immigrant.. so better to prepare our mindset..

no, our best prediction is 22Feb2015. The latest pd we know that got an il is 20Feb2015

ok but I dnt understand one thing in our case, at NVC our visa class is CR 1 which is for only US citizens who are marrd within less thsn 2 years and and the petitioner who is my Dad is permanent residence so I dont understand this situation anyway

NVC made a mistake. They wrongly categorized your case which is common in NVC. You can call NVC and tell them that the category is wrong. They might give you an interview date but since your PD is not current, the embassy will not process your case. Hope this helps!

For my name change procedure, I changed my green card first then SSN then passport. Replacing green card is relatively easy as the procedure is now online:

It took me 3 days before I got my biometrics appointment and two months after I got my ID. After getting your green card id, apply for a new SSN card. You have to bring your green card id and show it to them. Then I changed my passport. Also, after changing your SSN, you would be able to change your bank account, credit card name, driver's license etc
