the day i get the case number and the invoice number
at first i paid the ios (120$)
after 30 min i paid the iv (325$)
and now i am waiting to file the ds-260
and also we have the same problem the web site didn't ask for my e mail hust asked for my husband email when we started to pay
my advice to u as i read and i will do at Monday i will call the nvc and ask to add my email
wish u all the best luck
What steps did you take to get the IV invoice page to open up so quickly after paying the AOS fee. When did you submit the DS-261, most of us are waiting quite a while before the IV fee is issued and would appreciate knowing if there is a trick to it? (You didn't go back into the AOS page and just pay 325$ did you? Otherwise you've just overpaid the AOS fee by 325$!!!)

Just get another MMR. Cheaper than a blood test. Maybe even free on NHS. Many do it free, but they don't have to.
If it is close to your medical appointment, then you get a waiver for second dose. There is a 4 week waiting period between doses so get the first less than 4 weeks before the medical and you don't have to get the second.
You also need Tdap or Td dated within the last 10 years. You probably don't have that either.
Having chickenpox gets you out of the varicella shot. They take your word for it. No record needed.
Flu season ends in 3 days, so no flu shot needed.
You do not need to take your medical records to the exam. If you have or have had anything like major surgery, heart disease, cancer, diabetes, depression...then they will want a short statement written by you doctor explaining when, treatment, medication, and how you are now. They do not want to see the actual records from your file. It is a summary statement from your doctor giving them details.
Cheers for the swift reply. Handy to know that it's cheaper just to have the MMR jab (my surgery are going to hit me for 40 quid for that one).
The tetanus, diphtheria, etc, one is interesting, I was under the impression that I needed boosters every ten years however, thanks to a penchant for accidents of one sort or another, I have had five tetanus injections in my lifetime (the last in '98) and was told last week that, once you've had five, that is your lot - for ever!!!

Hi all,
my CR-1 has moved along far enough for me to be considering sorting out the health requirements for the visa.
So I've popped down to my doctor's, asked them for a copy of my medical records (they did say that they might not have my full records, which begs the question where do one's earlier non-electronic records end up when you move about and is there any chance of finding them??) and my vaccination record.
At 45 I'm old enough to have had the MMR jabs but my vaccination record only shows the Measles jab. I have a feeling that when I was younger I had both Mumps and German Measles - presumably this should be noted on my medical records (if they still exist that far back!!) and if so I presume I won't need the jabs? Does anyone know if there is a blood test for ascertaining whether I've had both of those diseases as a child?
When people get their documents together for the interview/medical do they consider 'medical records' to be only those which the doctor holds or do we have to run around and obtain dental records and anything else medically related (in this instance, records kept by several Homeopathic practitioners)?

Online application, no photo endorsements???
When did they update the form? I sent mine off on the 13th March and received my certificate three days ago. Whilst I could download the form there was no option for filing it electronically, I had to post it.
There was a separate sheet for my photo endorser to sign, has this now been done away with?
(As an aside, I too had some US sized passport photos and wondered if they'd accept them rather than the British dimensions - they did
)
I photocopied everything (and also keep a copy of EVERYTHING that is sent anywhere during this process, as previously mentioned a scanner/copier is an invaluable piece of kit at this time.)
Finding two items with address on is a complete pain nowadays as most of us receive our bills/insurances/etc, electronically.
Also for those a little concerned... a 'talking to' does not show up on the certificate, I too was unsure if any run-ins would present themselves but, just to clarify, a caution happens down at the station. The police may caution you in public but a 'police caution' is issued at the station only.
HTH. Good luck all

marriedguy, I get the same. When I read the wiki instructions, it says wait for the AOS to be invoiced but when I log into CEAC it asks me as well if I want to pay the $120 AOS fee. So anyone know if can pay the fee straight away or if we need to wait to be invoiced?
What you have now is the closest thing you'll ever get to an invoice and the sooner you pay it and fill in the DS-261 (if you haven't already) the sooner you'll be waiting for the DS-260 etc!!!
Edit - when you log into CEAC you have to enter two sets of information, your case number and your Invoice number

The background of the USC / LPR factors minimally in Homeland Security and DOS checks in the i130 processing, except if hits on the USC/LPR fall under the Adam Walsh Act or classified military / pentagon hits. However, the applicant's background as well as the background of any of ALL those relatives and even the relatives (who are NOT part of the immigration petition) of your own children (who are part of the petition) factors majorly (if not solely) in the decision / speed with which the I-130 case is adjudicated. A classified military hit or Adam Walsh Act hit will throw an app into a wait sometimes long enough to lapse the time statutes that warrants expiration of a i130 case. They really can't lawfully revoke a petition based on classifies military hits, but DOS sure as hell won't return your file easily (if at all) to USCIS. In such as case, the case becomes more "vigilante" than "humnaitarian".
Sorry, I'm a bit confused!!
Surely the first part of the immigration process, the I-130, for a spouse to come to the US as an LPR (initially CPR) is specifically to check the applicant petitioner's background and the validity of the marriage certificate? If the majority of the checks were on the applicant then why would they not ask for the details which you are later required to give in the DS-260 (Immigrant visa form)? It would make the requirement to obtain a police certificate obsolete if they already knew that the applicant was a miscreant!!

10 days away from the 8 month mark, my friends. Still no word or update.
This is creating stress with my husband as we have different approaches to what seems to be an endless waiting.
Just curious... am I the only one in the august group to have been served with the "application on hold due to background and security checks"?
Best as always,
UnaMexicana
Sorry to hear you're still stuck.
Somebody mentioned that it may be the Mexican authorities lack of speed but if your hubby is naturalised presumably he's already been through the system (and have received a clean bill of health) and if he was born a USC then the Mexican authorities wouldn't be called upon?
(Assuming that he's of Hispanic origin)...Is there a local Hispanic orientated church near him? I know there's one local to my wife in Florida and they are very pro-active in helping locals with immigration affairs, several of her students have found their help invaluable.
Praying for your situation and our fellow hopefuls.

Also, it's been showing me this (http://i.imgur.com/QQrRYOi.jpg) for the past hour if I try to go to that link or try to click the Fees tab at (https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx). Anyone else having this issue?
Yup I had that problem yesterday. Cleared my browser history and it's been OK since, I think it's an issue with cookies (but I may be wrong, I'm no computer expert)

My wife and I received a confirmation of receipt of the DS-261 by email. Does this mean that the DS-261 has been reviewed or that they'll review it sometime later?
I assumed the former (as my wife and I have both since received emails confirming AOS fee processed, suggesting that they must have reviewed the DS-261 in order to have both our email addresses) and was rather hoping that we were only a few days from receiving the IV fee invoice.

hello, i have a question to those who are investing their time and being here for a long time to help and advice and share their experience, first of all i wanna thank you for that, and you guys are helping all of us, as we don't have any clue about this. i want to know how accurate the suggested approval date that you get when you fill in your time line ?? is close to be right ? i don't care if its plus or mince one week but i just wanna know, because it says in my timeline that i should expect something between April 16 and may 2
I found it to be absolutely spot on. Others have found USCIS times correct, whilst some others have been approved long in advance of USCIS processing times and others haven't.
The only accurate statement that applies to USCIS processing times is that there isn't one BUT VJ was good for mine unlike USCIS....

... I asked for a bottle of water... The lady made me repeat myself three times until my husband asked for me!

With my lazy Devonian accent, asking for 'war-der' is no problem - trying to get a 'tomato' in your sub though, that's a whole different ball game.

Just want to say thanks to everyone who had helped me with this longgggggggggg process.im now here is USA. POE is in Chicago, went everything ok. one question ask, why you coming to USA?
Thanks everyone for answering my questions. You guys really helped me and my hubby.
Congratulations.
Can I ask how you answer that question? It is one that I'm not sure they'd like my answer to!!! I'm only interested in moving to the States because it is where my wife lives and it's more convenient for me to move there than it is for her to move here but I'm not sure whether the embassy staff would consider that a valid enough reason. Or is it?

Yay....Wife received a text notification of case number and IID late last night
Interestingly enough the Julian date on the case number is 566 - which would indicate a date of 7th March. If I've done my sums correctly it would mean that our case was given a number on a Saturday. I didn't think NVC worked Saturdays????
Just spent a little while navigating the NVC site and managed to fill in the DS-261 and pay the AOS fee (We've got a joint US account so that was quite easy) - finally feels like we've moved forward a bit more
Sorry, that should have read that my wife received a welcome package from NVC in the post - it was not a text notification.

Spoke with NVC this morning, confirmed 3/9 is my scan date, now another round of wait begins.
Is the 'scan date' the date NVC give you when they confirm they've got all the correct paperwork and are then going to sit on it for 60 days? Or when they confirm that they've had some paperwork, not yet checked it but will sit on it for 60 days before checking to see if they've got everything? Or something else?
Congratulations on getting as far as you have so quickly (I use that term in a loose sense of the word 'quickly'!!!)

Hey Devonian. I was wrong. I am sorry! And you're absolutely right!
No worries, as a group of people prospective immigrants are probably some of the most stressed out you'll find.
...And you were right in one of your earlier posts about USCIS posted processing times. It is frustrating and misleading to say that cases are being filed within 5 months and yet when you email them after 5 months they send an auto reply saying that you are not yet outside the filing times - if that's the case why not just post it as 6 months or 7 months, at least then it's a bonus when it takes 5 1/2 months instead of 6 and not frustrating because you've gone two weeks over their posted times. (Using my timeline as an example, sorry for anyone still waiting).
Why not post you timeline Eden4, the more that are maintained in the data the better idea future applicants have of expected times - Igor's predictions for my USCIS I-130 approval were absolutely spot-on.
-
Yeppers! They quite commonly do it that fast when the applicant Canadian , BRitish or French. Hmmm!
I'm sorry but if that were the case I'd be sitting in Florida right now clutching a green card in my sweaty hands but it's not. If you care to research the timelines you'd see that is just not true (Cases are faster though when the USC lives abroad with the applicant and files from the applicant's country but that applies globally not to just the three countries you've picked out).
This thread is supposed to be for the support of ALL August filers, regardless of our nationalities, but reading your comments makes me feel uncomfortable. Any chance we could stick to bashing USCIS and NVC for their processing times without singling out specific nationalities
One thing we can all agree on, regardless of whether we happen to be expedited or not, is that the whole process takes far too long for each of us.

What kind of updates or which stages of case will be seen on the Uscis website?
We didn't have any RFE's so for a clear case you get (basically speaking)
Processing
Approved
Posted to NVC
The first one seems interminable and gets a little tedious when you view it for the umpteenth time!!
I presume there would be other updates if they need more information, etc
-
We have placed your case on a processing hold, because the required security checks remain pending. Until we receive the results of these security checks, we cannot move forward on your case. We require the results of security checks before we make a decision on any pending case.
We cannot predict when we will receive the results of these security checks. Please be assured that we will make every effort to make a decision in your case as soon as the security checks are complete.
The wording of this reply sounds very much like a standard type response - The I-130 is used solely to provide USCIS with details of the petitioner so that they can judge whether or not he's putting forward a genuine case. Thus all I-130's are 'on hold' until USCIS have performed and reviewed the results of 'security checks'.
Strikes me very much as their way of saying 'we've not yet got round to your case and we'll let you know when we do'. On the bright side it does imply that they've actually started to review the I-130 so hopefully it's moving now rather than just sitting in the 'inbox'
Wishing you the best

All official mail will be posted to whichever address you fill in on the form - you decide whichever is the most convenient for post to go to.

If you and she can complete the IV paperwork in the US (meaning she'll have to bring out the relevant copies of documents before she leaves for the US) then theoretically she could remain in the US until her medical date ( which must be done before the interview but to get one you need your case number).
The tricky thing is buying a return ticket for her home country and gambling that the interview date that's assigned isn't whilst she's still in the US - unless you or she have no problems with the expense of changing her return ticket or trying to change the interview date (again, gambling that you could do it without encountering problems)

Ok guys. I have been rather quiet for a while just hoping, praying and waiting. Close to seven months and nothing has changed for me. Not an RFE (not that I want one), not a signal that things are moving forward. My husband sent a service request to see if we get any info - we will not by March 5 and not before.
That sucks, it's not like it's the end of the process once the I-130's approved either.
I sent a service request just a few days before they sent approval and thought it was bad enough that they said 'not yet out of processing time, try again in the future' (or words to that effect) and that was 'only' 5 months and three weeks. Why do they say processing times are '5 months' when it is plainly obvious that, unless you are lucky enough to be expedited, it's just shy of 6 months - on average.
Time for phone calls?
Hope they approve your I-130 soon.
-
NOA2 notification of I-130 approval received this morning
:)
The VJ timeline facility was spot-on (I know it fluctuated a bit but it was always indicating this week and early this morning was the first time it gave an approval date estimation that was in the past)
I know the wait is frustrating, regardless of whether that's one month or six, but hang on in there fellow August filers
Good luck all

Haha, that's what I thought!! I cannot find anything online about a 5 dose maximum (except a reference to the 5-in-1 sequence given to children) and wonder if I was being fed b***sh*t, I've not been overly impressed by this current quack
I was under the impression that I'd be looking for a Tdap and MMR sometime between now and medical time. (Cheers for the heads up on Boots/Tesco's Nich-Nick, I hadn't thought about trying other places for jabs
)
