  1. I look it a bit different and many may not agree. However I think a polite, sorry guys but and a gentle edit is a user friendly fundamental shift in the right direction. Thr action probably initiated from a compliant from some safe zone minded prickly Uber offended person with an agenda that somehow associated white Frenchman with Monkeys as racial.

The old method would have been a wordy condescending post in which they talked to you like a third grader and deleted the post or suspended someone. This new method in my humble opinion is what we have been asking for.

I am sure the edit and polite response took more effort than a cut and paste reply and simple delte.

Anyway just my 2 cents worth. It takes both sides to make things work.

Perhaps. In any case, I'm simply tired of posts that are not caustic and not personal attacks being constantly [and inconsistently] edited due to contradicting with a nebulous TOS, and without me even being sanctioned (because, let's be honest, it didn't contradict with the TOS). Too many crocodile tears, far, far too much enabling of people with stunted self-esteems who cry over minutiae that adjusted adults shouldn't flinch at. In just the last 2-3 days it's happened twice. If this place wants to be a progressive echo chamber, it's doing a good job of it.

I absolutely don't think this place is equipped with the tools and culture necessary to have a meaningful forum on current events. You can't discuss a bunch of people being massacred, for example, without some uncomfortable associated arguments.

I won't be changing to appease this, and I won't be clicking any "I acknowledge" type sanctions again, either. Keep fighting the good fight, but I'm changing my theater; I'm out.

  2. Sorry, guys -- had to edit out a term and image that flew in the face of a TOS provision. Thanks for understanding.

    Saying I understand is presumptuous; I don't.

    ----------------edited---------------

I honestly, truly have no idea what goes against TOS. It's clear many others don't, either. And frankly I can't be bothered to learn because it isn't even consistent. I never know when you guys will freak out over something big or small. Way, way too touchy. If you're going to be this touchy you ought to simply remove the CEHST topic entirely. The amount of edits and bans you guys drop is over the top. In other forums I have thousands upon thousands of posts with nary a complaint because the mods aren't trying to fashion some patronizing safe space constantly for special snowflakes. In this case I don't even think a snowflake complained.

    comment:

for understanding why that term is unacceptable, please refer to this portion of the TOS:

last_post.png Post Content intended to degrade, intimidate, or incite violence or prejudicial action against a broad demographic or group of people identified by a unifying trait or characteristic (discrimination). For instance, racist or sexist content may be considered hate speech.

making negative broad brush comments about an entire country fall under this.

  3. http://www.bloomberg.com/view/articles/2016-07-15/learning-to-live-with-islamic-terrorism-in-france-and-beyond

France's prime minister. Calling for unity in the face of terror, Manuel Valls observed: "Times have changed, and we should learn to live with terrorism. We have to show solidarity and collective calm."

I am guessing this view will fly like a lead balloon. Hope he doesn't plan on running for reelection any time soon. The article goes on to say France is monitoring the communications of many young muslims, and yet this attack still happened; ergo, it couldn't have been prevented, as if there is nothing else that can be done.

And yet, French unity is cracking, so sayeth: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-07-15/attack-in-nice-draws-barbs-from-opposition-after-year-of-silence

  4. FUD is a tried and true technique in many areas, politics is just one example. Democrats do it too. If you elect a Republican, we will be a theocracy in 4 years. The Republic won't survive. The best pornstars and actors will move to Canada. All the polar bears will die. Your kids will have to drink oil. Fracking will turn Oklahoma into a sinkhole. The planet will become a ball of fire if you don't trade in your Escape for a Tesla.

    You should post here more.

  5. It's great trump didn't pick him dodged a bullet on this.

I don't know if newt was talking about immigrants or citizens or what.

I have and continue to support the idea that the US needs to cut back to the point of almost completely banning immigration from highly islamic countries except with special circumstances. If you want to fashion it as PC, ban it from countries that have major terror problems. We can't afford it, and the risk is too high. And moreover we don't need it; there are many other countries with many who want to come to the West and who are not raised in, and subsequently believe in very high numbers, in barbaric concepts like sharia law. Pew and others have given us the data we need, we just need to apply it.

Some of you will whine. And you'll post #withfrance and other contemptibly worthless things and update your facebook pictures, and this will keep happening because you are to weak to look for a real solution or support a major change in how we look at immigration.

  6. I don't really think it has anything to do with the color of the skin of the person in the WH. I think it has more to do with their governing ability and their politics. Obama has a knack for speaking before he has all the facts and many times taking the wrong side. This only inflames feelings on both sides. He needs to through away Alinsky's book and start actually acting like the President. To bad he only has six months left.

Yep, he's done it a bunch of times with these racially charged matters. From Trayvon, a guy shot while assaulting a stranger who looked like his son, to michael brown, a guy who assaulted a cop and was killed yet his death "staining the heart" of black children, to jumping to conclusions on sterling and castile with all the caution of a buffoon on twitter, he has done a very bad job in these events.

  7. ***** Op edited and two posts removed for sexually explicit and derogatory language. *******

    lol, nice moderating

Well, when some of us called this WWIII we were made fun of. WWII doesn't mean a bunch of armies fighting each other, it means this continuing, throughout many years, consistently...does anyone now doubt it will happen? Can you call it anything other than that? This isn't going to stop on its own nor will it be defeated any time soon. We all might as well just get used to it.

I agree that we will have to get used to it until enough people with spines stand up to it and stop trying to say we can solve terrorism with hugs and blankets.
