Ours was slightly different. They conducted and approved our I751 but due to technical difficulties they couldn’t do the N400. Others on the same day and location got both interviews but they filed their N400 by mail (paper) and we filed online... hence maybe the reason they had digital/ technical difficulties. I know another couple scheduled for May 30th we’ll see what happens there. We are scheduled now again after 3 de schedules on June 28th.

New notice online today: New N400 date scheduled.😃 Still hugely disappointed in not having the combo interview yesterday.
I think the USCIS is making changes with the pending I751 / N 400 applicants. Perhaps if you don't have an officially approved I751 your N400 gets rescheduled multiple times until
that interview is complete and updated. It's a guess, but in speaking with others in the same boat we are going through similar patterns.

Yesterday we had our I751/N400 combo interview scheduled and we attended in Las Vegas, NV, but before the IO began she informed us that she was truly sorry. She realized we were
expecting a combo interview, but due to "Technical Difficulties" she could only interview for the I751.
When we asked for more details and clarification... it was answered with a vague response. "Our digital system is having problems and you'll get a notice when we can schedule you again".
We said okay, well we do have a notice of just an N400 interview that is scheduled on June 11th... which was met with a nervous laugh. That seemed odd... why a nervous laugh? When we
returned home I thought for giggles I would log in to the account status and I found in our documents tab another "De Scheduled" N400 appointment letter.
Let me shine some light on the matters...
Apr 12: received notice of N400 interview. Waited for document to appear in the tab and/or mail.
May 30th: N400 interview - nothing yet about the I751interview
Apr 16: received letter from Las Vegas USCIS office - I751/N400 combo interview scheduled 5/9
May 1: Interview De Scheduled - May 30th N400
May 2: Interview Scheduled - June 11th N400 Interview
May 9 : I751 interview only - approved
May 8: Interview De Scheduled - N 400
No N400 rescheduling yet.
Anyone else have this issue or is this isolated to the Las Vegas office?

The interview letter I received doesn't say 'combo' anywhere at all. It just says M-400 naturalization interview. Though I still have ROC pending.
Should I be concerned? Well, I'll know by Monday anyway.

None of our N400 interview notices mentions the i751 because they were not combo interviews only the N400. The I751 notice came on plain copy paper from the local
office and never ever did it show up on any of the online sites that show our case status, but it DID show that it would be a combo interview.
So in your case... if they don't cancel on you. You will be having your N400 interview and if they decide to approve you they will tell you that your N400 case is all
ready for approval but they can not until your I751 is approved.
Some members on Visa Journey reported that shortly after the N400 interview that their status updated as approved for the I751 a few days later. So it's really hard
to say because it's all different. Depends on your local office too.
Please be ready for both... just in case. Keep us updated on your experience and good luck Monday

The officer would not say. Her exact words were she was very sorry. She knows we are expecting to have a combo interview but at this time they can not do the N400 part of the interview and they will be rescheduling for that portion. I questioned why and she said that their "Digital System" is having problems at this time and they can not access the data. Even that answer sounded fishy to me.
Yes, we passed the I751 portion and we should be pleased and happy about that, but the gut punch we got before we started made the experience feel miserable. We came with (2) large binders with over 300 pages of proof of our legitimate marriage. I had originals in one and exact duplicates in the other. We had a table of contents disclosing where in the binder you could find birth certificate or passports or green card or tax transcripts or utility bills or House deed or insurance info or life insurance policy or photos or greeting cards... etc etc. She never once asked for any document other than our drivers licenses that she kept until the end of the interview. The binder sat next to us the entire time. So here is how it went.
She took my husbands photo and fingerprints.
She had us stand and swear to tell the truth or be subjected to the consequence of lying under oath.
We were videotaped the entire time
First questions was to Kevin -
1.What is your full name
2. What is your date of birth
3. What is your address
4. What is your phone number
5. What is your email
6. When did you get married
Second questions were directed to me:
1. What is your full name?
2. What is your address?
3. What is your phone number?
4. What is your email?
5. Do you have any children together?
We don't have children together, but we have adult children from previous marriages.
Questions to us both - anyone was allowed to answer:
1. How many children do you each have?
2. How old are the children?
3. What are their first names?
4. Have you met each others children?
5. Where were they born?
6. Where do they live?
Moving on past the children
Couple Questions that either was allowed to answer or both could chime in...
1. Tell me what have you two been doing since you arrived in 2015... Between then and now? Any vacations etc.
2. Do you own your own home?
3. How did you meet and where?
4. Do you know each others family?
We explained the story of how and where we met. We explained about our families and the visits we have. We explained what we like
to do for fun together.
After us explaining our day to day she said the interview was over and that she would be recommending approval. I asked if she needed to keep my
binder I made for their copy and she said no. I asked if she wanted to look through it all? She said... I'll breeze through it but I'm not keeping all of that
we have enough and I'm approving you. She then went on to flip through till she found our wedding photos and she commented on how nice the photography
was and my hair was pretty. Then she smiled and handed it back. I said... I'll bring this then for the N400 interview and she said... You won't need it for that
interview... you're going to be just fine. I said... Well there is no way I'm not bringing it because I don't want to be calling out your name in the hallways for you
saying she said we didn't documents with us today! She laughed and said... you can bring what ever you like.
We tried to get her to tell us more info on the technical difficulties but she was tight lipped. You could sense though that she wasn't confident in her reason.
Now an interesting note: at the Las Vegas office on the website for USCIS it states you can no longer schedule InfoPass appointments nor can you do walk in appointments
or phone calls. They are directing everyone now to the USCIS website or toll free 800 number. No exceptions. I don't know if this is wide spread across the country or not.
I have a theory on the combo interviews too... I have no proof either way. I think that since it's historically been reported when you're in an N400 interview (not a combo) that the IO gets annoyed that your not approved yet for the I751. I have seen numerous reports of that happening. I think perhaps for all the I751 and N400 cases pending that they are trying to avoid the cart before the horse situations and
maybe just maybe they want the I751 to be approved first. Now this doesn't explain why they couldn't do combo interviews so I could be way off base, but if that's not it then why?
So the interview was yesterday... when we got home I went online just to see if anything changed with anything and there was our June 11th N400 interview date for June 11th De Scheduled. Uggh
so another punch to the gut. As of this morning we still do not have another N400 appointment scheduled. However the I751 was changed to printing a new green card and this morning we got
the Your Case was Approved. Which of course we are happy, but it's hard to be happy because we were so let down by the N400 being cancelled.
To summarize... the I751 was super easy. Too easy if you ask me. Really there was no need to interview us in my opinion because they believed all the documentation they already had. I was in a
forum for April filers and we had a spreadsheet. I entered in our info and our case took over 740 days while everyone else was done in the 400 day range. So the idea of having the (2) pending cases backfired on us. It's taken longer and has caused more frustration for us and in the end it wasn't faster... at least not in Las Vegas.
Oh and not once did our I751 interview ever show up on the online accounts or case status sites that the appointment ever existed. It was mailed on regular copy paper from the local office. Almost like the rest of the system didn't know about that day. I found it odd, but it was a legitimate appointment it just turned out to not be a combo like it stated. So anyone reading this that has a combo scheduled... Please be ready for your N400 too I would hate for you to think your experience will be like ours and then not be ready. Just don't get your hopes up too high. Then it won't break your heart as much. I even had a US flag ordered and flying over our Capitol building in Washington DC with a card of authenticity with his name the date and why it was being flown.... such a disappointment. Although I should of know that through this visa journey and beyond one lesson we all learned one way or the other was to not PLAN anything because everything and anything is subject to change.
Of course once we hear of a new date I will come back here to update the page with our info. Good luck to everyone else in our shoes. I'd love to hear if this is local or across the country and I know
there are others that I am having conversations with privately that are here in Vegas wondering what is going on... so please come write about your situations because it really helps others
to know what to expect.

Today was supposed to be our I751 and N400 combo interview. When we started the interview the officer apologized and said due to technical difficulties she would only be conducting the i751 interview.

On my interview letter says to bring spouse’s birth certificate or certificate of citizenship. Is a US passport good enough? Copies?

WE wondered the same thing, but since it doesn't say a passport will suffice I would plan on bringing your spouse, the original birth certificate and a copy. Our letter is also
stating we need to bring one copy and one original of EVERYTHING that supports our proof of marriage including photos. I'm here sorting out all of our info for the past 3 hours.
So glad this is the last round of gathering documents.

I need some help in this forum please. I have applied for N400 Citizenship application. I am a Green card holder for over 5 years now. My Priority date is May 26th, 2018. My biometrics was reviewed back in June 2018. Since then there hasn't been any update. I have opened 3 separate investigations with USCIS but I keep getting this automated response noted below. Can someone please let me know how soon I can expect an interview as this process seems painfully slow? Also it shows online that estimated completion time is 2 month.

It just depends on the wait times of your local office. I’m in Las Vegas and the estimated time used to be 12+ months but now the estimation is 18+ months. With all that said... we just got notification that an interview is scheduled. My husband filed almost exactly a year ago. If you look at the above info on others you might get a better understanding of wait times for specific locations. You can also add your info, if it’s not already. I’m on my mobile and it’s harder to see for me. It does sound like you’ll hear something soon. Good luck to you and I hope you get word soon

Today we have notification (email & text) for N 400 testing and interview. No new info on the I 751. Both should be approved together. Just waiting on letter with interview date. Good luck to anyone still here waiting and following this ghost town thread

My husband is officially “In Line” for an Interview. We still have a pending I 751 which I’m sure will be approved around the same time since they can’t approve his N400 before the I 751. My husband is still waiting too. We have a pending I751 and N400. The case moved from CA service center to Lee Summit, MO
No RFE’s and no updates from USCIS
( can’t ever get a tier 2 Immigration officer) and person answering only reads off the same info on the screen that we can see.
At our local office, where Kev has to keep getting his passport stamped , the last immigration officer he spoke to was very pessimistic and told him it could be another 18 months. I don’t believe that... but April marks 2 yrs since we applied for ROC and 1 year for Citizenship.
Was told it’s always faster if you combine your cases, but I’m thinking it’s going to be a wash as far as saving time 🤷♀️

Yes they did. This is his third stamp. His employer requires his extension be updated.

My husband also got the notice that the file was transferred. He also has a pending I751 and N400.
When this occurs they they are combining the two cases so that they can ready and complete the cases. The website anticipates his completion to be March/April, but when he went to the local office, to get yet another stamp in his passport, the IO told him it could take as long as June before approval.
We we don’t really believe that statement because the IO was just saying a date... he wasn’t looking on the computer. Really he should of just kept is remark to himself because throwing out guesses isn’t helpful.

We applied to N400 in April 2018, biometric in May 2018, they scheduled the interview in December 4th 2018. Interview in January 9 2019. Los Angeles Office.
Ours was transferred on the 20th. Nothing showed online so I tried calling the USCIS number and chose to get case status. That’s how I found out it was transferred to Lee Summit, MO. I had to google that to find out it was the National Benefits Center.
You can call call that number 24 hours and enter in your I 751 receipt number and the automated info will give you your answer.
Give it a try... I’m guessing you’re also at the NBC

im not sure why they transferred our ROC, but per previous searches when they transfer the roc for who has jurisdiction, they approve it. I’m crossing fingers for they approve it before the N400 interview.

As far as my husbands N400 we have not had any movement since the Biometrics. The estimated completion bounces between March & April 2019.

Two days ago we received a text and an email saying that our case was transferred. Yesterday we got the exact same message again. Nothing shows on the website, but when I called the automated line it stated that the case was sent to Lee Summit, MO for processing and that they were actively processing the case. We also have a N400 application pending.
Can anyone here give us some insight as to how your case proceeded once the transfer occurred? I'd appreciate the info if you have any. Thanks
