  1. I didn't say that I expect it to be next week or that I think that the embassy knows for sure. They said they don't THINK it'll be more than 5 days to FIX, not to get our visa. Of course they don't know for sure; they aren't the DOS. They're just giving us an estimate based on what they've heard from the DOS (which is very similar to what the DOS is giving). And besides that, I don't totally trust what the DOS tells us, either, with their vague and robotic responses! I'm only passing on the info given to us for those who have hope like we do based on our future plans.

But We've seen that update, and that update was a few days ago, saying that they don't think it'll be BEFORE next week, not that it wouldn't be up next week! Our interview was shortly after the delay, so I don't foresee it being weeks before we get ours.. Hopefully. :)

Ps- our consulate is Ecuador! :)

Here is a more promising update! Dated today June 19th

Q: How long before you restore full system functionality?

    • Public and private sector experts are making progress in correcting the visa problem, and we are striving to have the system online sometime next week.

    • Overseas and domestic passports are being issued.

  2. Hi all! We have our CR1 interview in London July 27. We received the list of documents we need to bring with us to the interview. Although not listed, are we expected to bring anything to prove our relationship (plane ticket stubs, pictures, etc) ?

Sam my husband just had his interview June 16th. They didn't ask or even want to see anything including the I864 paperwork. With that said it's better to be safe than sorry. You'll kick yourself if for some reason the CO asks you for something you left behind.

  3. Per the London embassy. At least for my case this gives me hope. We will see though

If you attended an immigrant or fiancé(e) visa interview prior to June 9, please be aware that the average processing time is 10-15 working days. However, in light of these technical issues, we ask that you allow additional time. The courier company will contact you by email with information about how to track your delivery as soon as your visa has been printed and delivery arrangements have been made. There is no mechanism for checking the status of your application until that time.

I think you will be fine. You're right at the high end of length of time for normal processing. If they add a couple more days to that I would bet sometime early next week at the latest for you or anyone approved before the 9th that doesn't have the Visa in hand yet.

  4. I know this thread is mostly all K1's if not all of you. But I thought I would let you know what happened with my husband during his interview today. His appointment was at 1pm and he was through and approved and texting me 30 minutes later. The CO did ask if he had travels plans... Which he does for July 12th. The officer said they were a week behind but he should be fine by then and to keep a watch on the websites. No guarantee's were given obviously. His ticket was also purchased with miles so if need be we will reschedule and pay the change fee if necessary.

  5. I am just really confused that I've seen that only non immigrants visas would be affected.. but people are saying that immigrants one, like CR-1, are being affected too..

No Visa's in any category can be printed in any embassy (work, student, K1, CR1 etc) so that affects everyone. The problem with the Non Immigrant Visa's if they had not applied online to fill out the DS 160 form before June 9th then the embassy is unable to process their case at this time and they have suggested that some may need to reschedule an interview. Two different issues, but stemming from the same problem of them not being able to access the data base they need for security clearances to process.

  6. The embassy replied to the email and confirmed that my appointment has been moved to 1 PM too. I presume the same is true for your appointment. The email said a letter was sent to me on May 15, I wonder if they sent it via postal mail as I haven't received an email from them today, other than the reply to my email. The email confirmed that all May and June appointments will occur in the afternoon. This has messed up my plans :-(

Out of curiosity, did you actually email the embassy or use the contact form on their site?

Sorry your plans are mixed up, but thank you for your update. We'll look for a letter in the post.

  8. Maybe NVC who schedules the CR1 appointments doesn't know about the embassy's change of plans for May/June.

That's possible I guess. You would think the NVC would know that though if they have to wait for the embassy to tell them it's okay to schedule. What do you suggest? Try reaching the embassy or wait for the embassy to contact us?

  9. My interview is still scheduled for 9:00 am on June 23. I received the interview letter a week ago. My case just arrived in London so I am waiting to see if they now reschedule me for an afternoon slot. I hope this is not the case as I already booked the hotel thinking I would have to arrive early.

Just got off the phone with NVC. They confirmed our interview was scheduled yesterday and is scheduled for June 16th @ 9am.

Anyone else in London with a morning time still scheduled and around that date? No email yet with the confirmation this was only over the phone tonight.

Thanks for the reply. Maybe they are back to morning for June.

  10. Hi Elle&Kev,

I got my CC on May 8th ... do I need to call the nvc to set an interview or do I just wait for there email?

they will email you once they schedule with your embassy. I've called the NVC every step of the process which allowed me to know things sooner than waiting for emails. We don't have our email confirmation yet but if you call they will tell you if you're scheduled yet or not.

  11. The IV Unit in London has moved ALL immigrant and fiancé visa interview appointments in May and June to the afternoon due to circumstances they did not explain.

    Read their blog http://www.usembassy.org.uk/specialrelationshipmagazine/?p=1883

  12. looks like the three moderators stopped caring as much after they got CC?

hey moderators, no hard feelings, but you need to step up and take responsibility ;)

You're a little out of line here in your post.

You need to understand that the three people adding everyones info on this spreadsheet are NOT moderators nor is this their job. They took over adding the info, out of kindness, after someone else abandoned the spreadsheet. Be thankful that a spreadsheet exists. You need to be patient.

  13. Hi favriebaby,

Yes i mean checklist for RFE after CC or before you get a CC?

    Thank you,

If you get an RFE it's because they are missing information or something is incorrect in your paperwork. You have to correct the problem. Once everything is in order and complete you will get a CC meaning your case is ready and complete. So to answer the question. An RFE would come before if there is one.

  14. Thanks elle&kev. So it doesn't depend me on the validity of medical exam

I mean it doesn't depend on the validity of the medical exam, sorry for the typo. I read some where it depends that is why I was making checking

Your question was the validity date of the Visa. That is six months. Your Visa validity is also tied to the medical which should also be 6 months unless there was TB present then I believe the Medical exam is only good for 3 months making your window shorter.

    1. Did you have a clear medical exam?

    2. When was the medical exam?

    3. Has the Visa been issued yet ( in hand)?
