  1. Hi Sorry for the late reply. Yes my Mom's dementia was noted during the exam. I brought with me all her medical exams and the doctor asked her the typical questions neurologists would ask to test the memory. For the interview, I had guardianship papers ready so I informed the agent about her situation and I did the interview on her behalf but they asked her where I live, Luckily she remembered. All in all the interview took less than 5 mins.

May I ask when your documents were approved by NVC? We’re waiting on our interview to be scheduled.

    Hi Jess

The documents were approved October 24th, then we were informed about the interview December 30th.

We had the interview and got approved on 2/7 but till now waiting fr the passport back.

When did you get DQed by the NVC?

There are circumstances .. such as yours.. where a caregiver etc is allowed. Usually the consulate requires advance notice of the situation. Contact the  consulate .. email with her application number in the header of the email. The email address will be in the correspondence already received from the consulate

Thank you for the advice. I emailed them, hopefully I will hear back soon.

  4. I am the petitioner for my mother who is suffering from Dementia. We have an interview schedule in the Lebanese consulate next week, and I just read on the website that the sponsor/petitioner cannot be present during the interview. I have legal guardianship.
Did someone experience a similar situation? Were you able to attend the interview with your parent?
  5. On 2022-06-02, I submitted all the documents required by the NVC so they can start the review process. Since then when I track status on the website it shows the following message : "Action required: Submit requested documents".

Is this an Error or would they change it once they actually start reviewing the documents. Also Will they actually let us wait the 6 months before they start reviewing the case?

Last question, how can we tell if a visa is available at the embassy for this category, I checked the Visa bulletin but couldn't find anything related to IR-5

Sorry for the numerous questions, just so frustrate,  been waiting for a long time for the IR-5 with USCIS and now NVC.

  6. I Submitted July 9th for my mother, currently status shows case under review as of July 29th. I tried to expedite 3 times under humanitarian basis and sever financial hardship, got rejected. I reached out to Senators but got no help. Literally under the mercy of USCIS. I know it is a June thread but I just needed to find some support and hopefully if any of the cases here gets approved, that will give me some positive energy that our turn will be coming soon.

  7. Hello Everyone

I am completing the I130 application so I can bring my mother to the US.

I already submitted evidence such as Birth certificate, however on the last page I see there is additional evidence request. If anyone went through this, do I still need to get that additional evidence or the birth certificate by itself is enough?

I do see in the text below they are saying "may be submitted" but I just want to be sure before I send my application as I don't want us to face delays in processing because of something I failed to submit.

    Thank you

    Malak

  8. Hi

I recently became a US citizen and I've been planning to bring my mother to the US to live with me through immigration, however obviously situation changed due to Covid and my mother been suffering from Dementia for a while and its getting worse. She has no one to take care of her. I checked the I-130 processing time and its really long so I can't just leave her there while I am waiting for the application to be processed. I decided to apply for a visit visa to bring her however the embassy is closed.

I tried emailing them to get an emergency appointment, but they didn't even reply to my email.

I am stuck and I don't know what to do. I guess I am asking for an advise, or if you have a similar situation and did something to resolve it.

Do you think also if I email the senator, I would get help.

Sorry for the numerous questions but I am really lost and desperate.

    Thank You

    Malak

  9. I am filing this application online and reached this point:

<<If the beneficiary's native written language does not use Roman letters, upload a document with his or her name and foreign address in their native written language. If you have a text or word processing document you would like to submit for evidence, send us a PDF version of the file. When saving your file, select PDF as the file type to save.>>

What sort of a document with an address would you upload? Can it be a simple letter showing the address and her name? or it has to be an official document?

  10. Can you work in the U.S. before you get your work permit in either of the following cases?

    • Working for my company in Belgium
    • Internship/Volunteering contract with company X (at most reimbursed for expenses)
    • Helping neigbors or people in your village for a really small amount?
Or do I really have to wait and sit home for 6-9 months? I am a programmer. I can earn also money from Google Adsense while I am waiting. But basically the idea of not working at all for 6-9 months frightens me a bit. I don't want to appear lazy when I start looking for a job. Even now I am working mostly 10-12 hours per day to leave a good reputation in Belgium.

I think u can if upon entry u obtain a work stamp on ur passport then u can work for 3 month after entering the states and if u can get married fast and then adjust for status u might have to wait one month only before obtaining ur ead

  11. Attached is a picture of the approval notice. Does this mean we don't need / won't have an interview? I wasn't expecting this so soon as we filed late December. What we the next steps be? Will she get her green card soon and what will happen with the petitions for her EAD and AP? Thanks so much!

wow the same thing happened to me today, my ead and advanced parole still pending however i got the same message for the I-485. i Guess congrats to both of us :dancing:

  12. Did you receive and respond to an RFE?

No I didn't however i discovered a mistake regarding the birthday on the I-485 notice and fixed that, would thy count that as an RFE

No worries! They are just letting you know they have received your response to the RFE they sent you. They are also letting you know they are back working on your case again and will be reviewing your response. You should get notification of their decision soon now that they have received your response.

I hope that's the case :clock: and nothing else

  13. So i received this w2 days after I was done with my biometrics, what could it possibly mean?

"On January 27, 2016, we received your response to our Request for Evidence for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSC**********. Our National Benefits Center office will begin working on your case again. We will mail you a decision or notify you if we need something from you."

  14. If u love him truly it's worth to stay and fight for it, I know u r homesick now, but maybe in the future ur family can visit u to make things easier, and soon ull be able to adjust and find a job.

I suffer from homesickness all the time,10 years living far away from my family and now I'll be moving to the states which is 14 hours away from them, but I'm willing to do it app over again cause my soul mate happened to be in the other side of the world, I know it's gonna be hard but I'm willing to fight and so u should be. Being in ur twenties doesn't mean ur young, it means ur an adult and ur smart and can take intelligent decisions. My advise work on making it better and have faith in your marriage. Finally your not alone, there are many of us (foreign fiancées and wives ) and ready to support even if it's virtual.
