  1. Just wanted to share the good news that my mom had her interview on 4th Jan and her visa was approved on spot Alhamdulilah. IR5 is pretty straight forward category but i was also well prepared because it took forever, I didnt want to leave any stone unturned. I had uploaded on CEAC portal my most recent W2 and tax transcript from 2022 only. Also uploaded employment verification and updated signed i-864 form. No pay stubs or anything else. She took copies of that to the interview but wasnt asked to show. They only asked to show her original birth certificate, my original birth certificate and original FRC. Thats it.

    Very simple questions asked.

    Who is calling you?

Where does your daughter live in US?

When was the last time you saw your daughter?

Was there another country you lived in other than Pakistan. (In my my moms case, yes, she lived few years in Dubai in the 90s).

That was it. She had to get her pics retaken over there at the embassy because she wears hijab and in the 2×2 she got done, her ears were not showing so they took photos there themselves for Rs 500. Other then that everything was smooth.

Best of luck to everyone else!

  2. Hi everyone. Congrats to those who got their IL and interviews lined up. My mom's IR5 DQ date 8th April 2022. Her interview is scheduled for 4th Jan 2024. She hasnt received the interview letter in mail. We are still waiting. I read that some people just printed out the email version and had no issues at the time of interview. Is that right? Please let me know if anyone had similar issue. Thanks!

  3. @aleful and @SusieQQQ Thank you for the responses. Yes it makes sense now why the other documents will be needed later.

So to sum it up, we need the completed and signed i130 + proof of citizenship from the mother and birth certificate for the daughter

No 2x2 pics or passport copy or anything else right? Please correct me if im wrong. Im surprised how incredibly straightforward this step is for this category!

  4. My aunt who is a US citizen asked me to help her file for her daughter who is above the age of 21 years, married and also has a son who is 9 months old. Surprisingly I couldnt find much information regarding the documents required to be submitted along with the form i-130 for child (son/daughter).  I would really appreciate if someone can give me a list of documents that need to be sent along with i-130 form for married child (f3 category).

    1) In the i-130 instructions, all it says is that a proof of citizenship and birth certificate is needed. Is that really all?
    2) Does her daughter also need to submit her marriage certificate and her baby's birth certificate since they will be included in the petition.

  5. the CO just took 1 minute interview and it seemed as if he already had determined to approve me. Im sure you already know all the scene of getting into the shuttle and then in to the embassyy so wont go in tht detail i reached interview area at 7.35am ... i was given a token.. then had to wait veryyyyyyyyy long for finger prints..it was a pretty long line! At the first window, i was asked to do all 10 finger prints.. they already had my US style photo graphs so i didnt need to give them. Next i was waiting for my number to be called again to go to 2nd window..there he took my original docs (urdu nikkah nama + birth certificate), my passport and the sealed medical report envelope. There i also handed him my husbands citizenship certificate and blue passport copy. He asked me my contact number and i selected english language for the interview.. then i had to wait some more for the interviewthat time was reallllly killing! finally my token number was called out and i went to the window.. A really nice american man was there, he had very light brown hair and beard..i was already noticing him tht he was really polite with others. So i got himm thankfully. Here are the questions:

    CO: Hey how are you?

me: hey Im good, how are you??

    CO: Good

*he was just looking at a pile of papers that we had submitted him in the NVC stage, and he was just going thru all tht quickly, not looking at me..and typing something in the computer..finally he asks me:

CO: What does your husband do in usa?

    (I answered)

*stilll looking down in the docs and continuously ticking stuff with red pen*

CO: Okay, and when was the last time you met him?

me: the last time was actually when he came here for the wedding, that is 2013

CO: Please take your original documents back

    me: okay thanks...

CO: OkayIm approving your visa, you can collect ur passport from AMEX in 10 days.

    me: thank you!!!

CO: Have a nice day, byee

    me: thts it??

    CO: Ya ure donee!

When done from the interview, i checked the time it was 10am. I took loads of ongoing relationship proof with me..lots of pictures of us together..wedding pics..viber n skype logs..gift receipts etc but Alhamdulilah not a single proof or picture was asked from me. I was extremely nervous abt the fact tht my husband didnt visit since our wedding in 2013 but tht was not even an issue for the CO. You just have to go up there and speak confidently and keep urself normal. Good luck to all of you

  6. What happen with ur interviw plz share ur experience.

    Heyy

Alhamdulilah! I got approved on spot! It was very smooth process, no additional proof or documents were required other than passport, original birth certificate and urdu nikkah nama! Only was asked 2 questions by a very nice and polite CO

"what does ur husband do in usa?" and "when was the last time u met him"

Thats it!! And he returned my original docs and said i can collect my passport from amex in 10 days :)

  7. I have 2 queries, please help those who have had there interviews:

According to my interview letter, i need to bring my original passport, birth certificate and marriage certificate as it says "J" next to them. Next to Financial evidence it says "Y" which means:

Y - The NVC sent this form or document to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate

    1. Should I bring original signed i864 form to the interview along with other financial docs like IRS tax transcript, pay stubs etc ??

    2. Reviews on The Residence to stay for 2 days? Or pls name another affordable hotels/guest houses within the vicinity of the US embassy that is safe and comfortable. TIA

  8. CC date october 29. I know interview takes approx 60 days give or take, but when I can expect to be notified of the interview schedule? 1 week, 2 weeks,, 3?

Call NVC once a week to inquire abt ur interview date. In the 3rd week and after, make calls 2 to 3 times in a week.

My interview was scheduled exactly one month after CC. Goood luck!

  9. Hey guys, im also in a similar situation. My husband became a US citizen at the time my case was current and i was waiting for my case to complete. So i never upgraded since it takes like 2 to 3 months. My interview is on 3rd december and Im also thinking now if i should send a copy of my husbands blue passport to the embassy or should i hand it over to them on the interview day? What would be better?

And if i do submit his passport copy on the day of interview, will they upgrade me to IR1 or i would remain in F2A category?

  10. Indeed, Allah is great and Kind!
