Thanks!

I love this list! I know some of my most missed foods were mentioned already but these are what I want the most right now!
McCain International Pizza
Skor bars
Ketchup and All Dressed chips
Poutine
Cheese Curds
Cheeze Whiz…oh my gosh I miss this. I can’t find it anywhere and I just stopped asking because every time I do the people are like “oh cheese in a can” and I’m like “no that’s disgusting”
I really miss Harvey’s too and of course Tim Hortons and Kelseys.
I never really thought much about the milk in a bag. I know you can’t get it here but it hasn’t really bothered me.
This is a great thread but it makes me miss home lol.

I don't think K-1 or K-3 goes quicker. It's just the luck of the draw. I think it's great you guys have an EAD, AP, SS#, and Drivers license. You have everything you need to live and work and in the US. Be happy that you can live your life and just keep thinking positive about your AOS. It will be approved soon!
Just last year when I applied the wait time in Orlando was 2 years!!! Now it is close to 6 months so they are really getting faster over here.

Just wanted to comment. Someone on here said that if you wait 2 years to file then you will get a 10 year card. I filed after being married for 16 months. I got married in June 2005. If I don’t get my card issued until June of this year then it should be a 10 year card correct? That’s the way I have always assumed it would be but now you have me wondering.
Thanks!

Look at my timeline. I filed end of October and was last touched Jan. 20th. I haven’t been worried at all about my application. I just figure it’s in a pile on someone’s desk. I am also in no hurry to get my green card because as of June 24th I will be married for 2 years and will get the 10 year green card.
If you have EAD and AP I wouldn’t worry too much about your AOS right now. Give it another month or so and if no touches then make an infopass. Or if you feel you must know then make an infopass now
Good luck to you and if you make the infopass let us know it goes!

Well that is good to know. Thanks!
Guess I will just keep waiting for my case to be touched…..

This may be a silly question but I’m a worry wart. Do traffic tickets have any effect on your AOS? I just got a ticket on Friday for a “rolling stop”. I was so annoyed and pointed out that I did stop and the cop said “legally you need to stop for 3 seconds” which I know, but have not actually counted to 3 when I stop since I was 16. I have a clean record, no tickets, no accidents, etc. Will this have an impact on my AOS?
Thanks so much for the comments.

It sounds like there is a new form and if that is the case then you need to use the new form. If they are asking for that stuff then send what you can. If you can only get an affidavit from a parent then just get that. I think you need to get it notarized by the sounds of it and you can normally find someone at the bank to do that.

Ok, Orlando says July 2006. That’s not too bad. I just thought that since my case is in California, I should go by what their processing dates are.
I guess that’s not the case?
Thanks

Kaffy, you shouldn’t have to get another medical done. As long as your AOS was filed before it expired you are fine.

I’m starting to get a little annoyed because every time I check my status online it says my case is pending at the California Service Center. When I go to the processing times for California it doesn’t even list I-485 family based. It only lists I-485 employment based and those are backed up from Sept. 2005 right now.
Is there anyway to check what dates they are currently processing right now?
Thanks for your help.

The one you sign is the marriage license. That then gets sent to the state where they produce on official marriage certificate.
You need the certificate for AOS.

We just sent a copy. That's all they asked for and it takes 8 weeks to get an original since we got married in Ontario.

Hello,
When I got my I-693a filled out the nurse just asked if I had chicken pox and then checked the box off. Sometimes they want to do a blood test to confirm this though. Most people have had chicken pox in they are above the age of 15 or so because we were never vaccinated as children so I think they believe you when you say you have.
Good luck!

Wow that is crazy. I would try to look up the person it was supposed to go to and give them a call. If it is their’s then send it to them. It is illegal to open it but maybe you could make an info pass and go open it in front of them?

I got touched!! Wooo I hope that means my card is coming soon.

Hello,
I entered the US on a K3 visa in April 2006. I went to the Melbourne DMV in Florida in May 2006. I showed up with my passport, K3 visa, Ontario drivers license and birth certificate. They took my Canadian (Ontario) license and gave me a Florida license which expires April 2008 (same date as when my K3 visa expires). They told me once I get my NOA for AOS I can bring it in and they will extend my license to the standard issue. Not really sure how long that is but probably 2-5 years.
They didn’t say anything about only being able to drive for 6 months. You can only stay in the US for 6 months though so maybe that’s where they were going with that. They did take away my Ontario license tough. Said it was illegal to have 2 licenses.
Hope that helps

I agree. It just depends on how busy they are. And be prepared for short notice. They only gave me a week or so notice too.
Check out my timeline.

I am not sure what TOS is so not sure if I am violating anything.
As for the positions being in different locations....Jacksonville is the headquarters so you may work from Jacksonville but work for another location.
I didn't know anything about requiring Citizenship but that is possible for positions that work with the government. In my office we have about 4 immigrants that our adjusting status at the moment.

I hope for a quick stay too! I'm so excited. I hope I don't get stuck in FBI name check limbo

Right now there are not any offices in CA. The closest office to California is probably the Texas one.

Hello Everyone!
This isn’t AOS related but does have to do with employment after you get your EAD!
My company Reynolds, Smith and Hills, Inc. has been doing some major growth in the past 3 years and we are still going strong. We currently have over 100 open positions in the following areas: Aerospace/Defense, Aviation, Commercial, Institutional, Public Infrastructure, Transportation and Construction Services in the offices across America with a few new offices in the New Year. We are looking for Engineers, Architects, Landscape Architects, Interior Designers, HR Personnel, etc. You don't have to be registered in the States either. I went to school in Canada for Architectural Technology and I'm not registered in the US. They offer good benefits and relocation assistance.
It’s a great company to work for and has been around since 1941. I have been with the company for 4 months now. I have posted the website for you to go visit. If you or anyone you know would be interested just send me a pm and I will get your resume and submit it to HR! Employee referrals are greatly appreciated in our HR department.

I’m not in a name check as far as I know but I do have a question that maybe will help.
When you file for AOS does that mean they stop processing your I-130? I kinda assumed that’s what happens but if not then you can file AOS and see which gets approved first.
I haven’t heard anything about my I-130 though and I applied in 2005.
