  1. NVC call today = still scheduling for May. "Send an expedite for an interview". I said "don't you have to have a good reason?". She said "well let them decide if its good or not. Holland has plenty of openings + anyone without a husband at the very least has financial needs. Right? Why not try it and let them decide?"

My question is at this point near a month into waiting for it interview, requesting an expedite slow it down? I should just wait for the process to go?

It's interesting to me that the rep said "Holland has plenty of openings" . Is that your embassy? It seems if the rep could see that then an interview should/would be scheduled.

I try not to ask questions anymore though lol because it just leads to more frustration with this broken system. Well I wish you the best of luck if you move forward with the expedite! I have no knowledge about that so I'll let someone else advise you :)

  2. WOW douche. Thanks. I see no need for you to call me name. Sorry if my words seemed harsh when I was being matter of fact.

Good grief this thread has suddenly become quite depressing when it use to be a forum for information gathering , ranting, congratulations and joy. Thanks for calling me a woman, a douche. WOW I am stunned.

It might be time to just shut this thread and the spreadsheet all together. Again I apologize to anyone who thought anything I said was harsh or made u feel any kind of way. Do have a blessed day . I am out of here. :wow:

There are many of us (and even more who are silent I imagine) that are so appreciative of this thread and what you do!!!! Trust me when I say this is just invaluable. I have followed this thread for MONTHS just to "listen" and gather info which has helped me plan and move forward in each step.

Let's use this for exactly as it was intended-- info gathering, ranting, congratulating, and joy. All agree? We need Dwheels!

  3. So how long does supervisor review take? Hubby just called and they say it takes 42days?? He asked to speak to a supervisor and was told he could not, coz no supervisor was available.......... :protest: :protest:

Mine went to a supervisor review and was approved about 4 days later.

However I believe this was due to the congressional inquiry by my local senator. I was later forwarded the e-mail correspondence between NVC and the congressman's office and I can tell that this the kick in the rear end that finally got the supervisor to look at it. However my senator wouldn't step in until after 60 days (the review time stated on their official website). I am not sure if that is a requirement for all offices though so it is most DEF worth the call to get them involved!

    Good luck!

  4. scan date jan 22, 2015.

    Check list, April 7th, 2015

reason (attach a written explanation why the petitioner didn't file taxes in 2013) even though we wrote on the form that she is a full time student

waited 75 days for this silly ugly response :(

I'm so very sorry. With the rate others are moving through now, you are bound to have that wait cut in half this time around!!! I know that doesn't make it any better.....hang in there!

  5. How long after case complete do you normally see an email?

We have one CC 3/30 but no email confirmation. Waiting on second to be reviewed. Cases are linked (parents).

Really hoping to have CC on second case this week as others with same scan date are already done.

So disappointing to see the recent progress come to what seems like a near standstill.

Like many we're still hoping for a May interview.

It is usually 7 calender days. CC 4/1/2015 got my email today 4/8/2015

  6. Congrats on your CC. We have the same CC date and the same embassy! Hopefully we'll be scheduled for the interview soon! I don't see a lot of people from SA on Visajourney so maybe we'll have an early interview date as well.

We're practically twins!! I sure do hope so but not really sure what to expect bc like you said, not a lot of data for SA embassy. I'm the US citizen and my husband is the SA citizen. He is coming to visit me next week.....so he can get all the original paperwork (don't trust the mail haha). Finally feeling like were seeing the light at the end of the tunnel but after being apart this long I'd rather wait the last bit out together.

Good luck to you! Will make sure I keep the thread updated with any news.

  7. Kels, I hope Todd was more honest with you then he was with me. His very pleasant, empathetic nature is very deceiving. When I talked to him, he took his time in helping me and even "spoke to his supervisor" to assured me my expedite had been received, as I was receiving mixed responses from several other NVC reps, but it turns out he lied to me with a smile on his face. I say smile on his face, as you could hear it in his voice. Initially I was so pleased with my interaction with Todd, that I sent an email to the NVC paying him a compliment. It wasn't until a few weeks and several calls later, when I reached out to my Senator as I still could not confirm whether or not my expedite had been received, that the Senator's office verified it had indeed NOT been received.

I don't want to bring you down. I truly hope Todd was being honest, but I wouldn't put a lot of faith in what he says, and I would definitely call back to follow-up sooner rather than later.

That is very good to know. I may call back today or tomorrow to confirm it has been put on supervisor review. I appreciate that info!! Thanks :)

We have no expectations/guess-timations/timelines anymore so I ended up booking a flight for my husband today to come visit me. So looking forward to each moment we'll have together!! Best of luck for you as you await an interview. Your in my thoughts & prayers.

  8. Congratulations everyone! Things started moving for some of us.

From the discussions above, I conclude that perhaps the more people on a petition at NVC (the more individuals' civil documents), the longer it may take NVC rep to review. For example, there is a petition of the family of four under the supervisor review, because the more junior rep may have felt too overwhelmed with the amount of documents. Just a speculation.

By the way, the supervisor review seems like a positive sign. Someone took care of it and ithe case is speeding up.

We can track our files in transit through DHL here:

    http://www.dhl-usa.com/en/express/tracking/shippers_reference.html?fromDayValue=20&fromMonthValue=03&fromYearValue=2015&shipperReference=EXP%2030%20MAR%202015A&toDayValue=01&toMonthValue=04&toYearValue=2015

I see your reasoning but I don't think we can speculate about ANYTHING at the NVC lol. For example my case is one applicant, one sponsor (petitioner), who has one employer, literally the simplest case you could get. Low risk country.

I think there is just simply human error and files get left out of the "review pile".

  9. Spoke to a nice NVC rep named Todd, he was kinda shocked/perplexed that our case had not been reviewed and then had to manually request that it be sent to his supervisor. I heard him typing it up on his keyboard.

I really wish I could have a tour of the NVC. He said it "shouldn't take too long but allow at least a week. It takes 2-3 days after she (supervisor) requests the transfer to get to her desk." The last part didn't really make sense to me but I guess if my file was just neglected I should be happy that it is going to move somewhere. Someone is going to touch it finally. Will continue praying for a favorable outcome. Glad I got Todd as my rep today he was helpful and took initiative. Grateful for that.

  10. Hi guys,

Please tell me how u handle waiting time.So far I was very positive, and now after they told me about my mom's case supervisor review I am very worried.Waiting is killing me, and everything is getting so complicated

Giving up control. Do what you can but let go of what is out of your control. It is easier said than done but when I get home from work and away from the computer I try to stay off this site, the CEAC site, and just LIVE LIFE. Get involved with a new hobby, read, volunteer. Count the blessings that you do have today! I know friends that are dealing with loss of children, parents, or divorces, and I just remind myself that this small inconvenience, while it feels HUGE, will pass and I'm grateful for the many things I've been blessed with.

    Hang in there!
