Don't worry about the estimated time. The numbers close to the end of the journey have become crazy due to the covid shutdowns. My estimate was about 12 months when I had my interview and same day oath. Even after the oath I was getting "action was taken on your case" emails and a long estimated time.

March 18, 2020 filer in San Francisco here, still waiting to get my interview scheduled. Did any of you receive a text message and/or email from USCIS that said: "We have taken an action on your case. Sign in to your USCIS account - link."? I just received those this morning and was giddy with excitement assuming my interview finally got scheduled... but there was no update yet in my account. According to the internets, it can take a couple of days for the update to actually show up. Is there anyone here that received that message and then saw an update in their account at a later time?
Yes, I went through that. I had the email overnight, and the website only showed the update in the afternoon.

I filed April 16, 2020 and got my biometrics reviews in January 2021, and still no date for interview or completion. My location is Tampa. I’ve been in the US as a green card holder for 10 years but served in Iraq and Afghanistan under the US Army for seven out of those years.
it is absolutely frustrating to be waiting so long it’s been a year now
Today I checked my case and this is what is showingYou will notice that there are still March filers who are just getting their interviews. It is all just taking a lot of time. Processing times for Tampa state 11.5 - 14 months for N-400. At least having your biometrics is a good sign, this means your case is progressing. It is frustrating, but all any of us can do is wait. Hopefully you will hear something soon.

Sooooo, question....will the online status change to approved? The reason I ask is because the status was updated with this:
April 13, 2021 We recommended that your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, be approved. Your case was submitted for quality review.
then maybe 15 mins. later it updated to this:April 13, 2021 Oath Ceremony Will Be ScheduledSo I'm not sure now. Does it mean that today would be the approval date then or no? I'm confused, and maybe overthinking it 🤔I had same day oath (in fact just 35 minutes after the interview). The website sequence was "Your case was submitted for quality review", then next morning "Oath ceremony was scheduled" (including a note that the notice was mailed) then a few days later "Naturalization certificate was issued".
I would not stress over it. Seems similar enough to mine that it is probably typical.

Sorry for the late reply. Maybe you can refer to your passport for all the travel dates. She didn't ask me the exact dates, she just asked me where and how long we were there. BUT it might be different with each officer. You can also just print it out or refer to the application so you are familiar with the questions. You've got this:)
I had a similar experience at my interview. The interviewer wanted to know about how many trips I had had overseas in the last 5 years. He did not ask for specifics, but perhaps exact dates would have been more important if I had been close to the limit.

Well I am now a citizen. Interview passed, oath 35 minutes later. All done. A huge thank you to all my fellow Visa Journey travelers, your help, support, advice and kind words have been a highlight of this whole process. Thank you all so much, it would have been so much harder without all of you. Time to start checking out the post oath forum to decide which order to do things in. I will still be around for a while in case I can be of help to others. May those still on their journey have a conclusion soon!

Well I am now a US citizen! Passed the interview, same day oath. All done.
For those still to go through San Bernardino it was all quite logical. Everyone was professional and courteous. I entered the building about 10 minutes before my appointment time. My name was called 25 minutes after the appointment time. The interview took about 30 minutes. They were doing an oath ceremony every half an hour, and I just missed one (They started one while my paperwork/certificate was being processed), so I had to wait just over a half hour for the ceremony. The ceremony itself was only a few minutes. The officer read the names off the certificates, we stood up, repeated the oath and received our certificates. I left the building about 1 hour, 45 minutes after entering.

Wife is finally a US Citizen! She had her interview this morning and the oath ceremony followed immediately after. The interview was on the second floor and the oath was on the first floor. Appointment was at 7:30am and by 9:30am we were done and on our way. Glad to finally be done with the process. VisaJourney has been a great resource the past few years.
Congratulations. My interview is tomorrow. I hope I get same day oath as well.

I am officially done with my immigration process. I had my naturalization interview today, got approved, and had a same-day oath.
Congratulations!
My interview is a week away. Hopefully I will get same day oath as well. What time did the oath take place?

I received a notice in my online account that I am being scheduled for an interview. How long does it take from the "initial notice" to the "interview letter" being downloaded to my "document" section. Is it 24Hrs, 48, 72? Can't wait lol
Mine took less than 24 hours. Some people have had to wait longer. The interview itself will likely be a month away.

Received interview letter in the mail yesterday. Interview is April 6.
Good to hear. The day before me! Perhaps you could report on the interview so I could be a little better prepared.

Friend of mine in CA has been to Mexico twice, Colorado, NY, Georgia and probably a few other places, even did a land crossing into Mexico which I do not think was possible.
It is certainly easy enough to travel, even overseas until recently. The problem is that Government departments have a tendency to enforce sometimes arbitrary rules, or become overly cautious about things. What I don't want to happen is that I turn up for the interview and the security guard does not let me in because I answered yes to some question which I had no prior knowledge of.

Were those company restrictions or navy restrictions? Definitely not general state stuff. Saw way too many people driving all over the state all along... no one ever seemed to get fined or anything even
Definitely not state stuff. Could be Navy, US Government, or someone in the chain between them and us. The crazy things is I work for a small commercial company.

In California or? They seem to be so seldom enforced even when they have been “mandatory”.
Yes in California. The company I work for does some work with the Navy. We were classed as "essential for the security of the nation", and placed under some really crazy restrictions. Originally I was not allowed to leave the county and had to get special permission to go home as I lived just over the county border. I am not kidding here. If I ran out of milk I had to travel back into work's county because the only place I was allowed to travel was between the county border and my home. And that's just one rule.

Thanks SusieQQQ. That was my reading but I have had a LOT of trouble with government rules around COVID. That has made me rather sensitive to possible issues .

The other factor is that Immigration is Federal and there are no Federal requirements.
This is the source of my confusion. I don't know what each office does. Do they follow a Federal rule, the CDC recommendation, the state rule or some combination of the three. I assume I need to meet the California rule, but maybe the USCIS don't care.

I have my interview finally scheduled for April 7in California. I shall have to travel out of state in late March. The 7th will be the day I get out of the 10 day "California recommended quarantine". The interview letter only mentions out of USA travel. Does anyone know if the 10 day quarantine is sufficient before the interview, or do they have some other rule for out of state travel? Would having a Covid test help?
-
-
The PDF of the interview letter has appeared on the website. April 7th.
Does anyone know how the California 10 day quarantine for out of state travel affect things? I shall have to travel in late March but will be back on the last weekend of March so will be just out of quarantine before the interview. They don't mention anything about out of state travel, just out of USA travel in the letter.

Congratulations. When did you file your N400? I am from San Diego so maybe I could get interview notice within a week?
Thank you. I filed March 31st 2020. I try to keep the timeline details up to date so others can see the timing. Not sure how San Diego and San Bernardino are relative to each other. Hopefully you will hear something soon.

Filing N-400: online or paper?
in US Citizenship General Discussion

I also say your attorney is trying to make money out of you. Do the N-400 on line. It is one of the easier forms, the online system makes sure you have completed all required sections, and tells you what documents are required. I had no RFE.
