Does anyone know the process of how I 751 Applications are reviewed?
Once you send out the application, we all know that at some point we get NOA for one year extension. then Biometrics appointment letter.
What is the internal working once the Biomentrics is completed till you get an approval??

Got my wife's GC today in the mail. No interview. Date of the I751 was 10/13/14.
reelss:
where did you file? california or vermont

From what I have seen so far...N400 apps at the ATL office are taking about a year or slightly over! We have one of the slowest offices in the country am afraid.
Kash2011: Looks like you might still have a chance to vote in 2016 general election. I doubt that i will. My early filing date for N 400 is in early nov 2015. if it takes a year to approve, I won't have a shot at it.

My wife has her biometrics scheduled for next week. We have a foreign trip planned for next month, returning after her conditional GC has expired. I realize that the receipt letter you get after submitting the I-751 counts as a one year extension of the GC, but I am worried that this might cause problems when we travel. For example on boarding the plane to come home it might not be recognized by the airline staff.
I have read that you can also get an I-551 stamp in your passport that gives you temporary permission to be in the US. It seems like traveling with that would cause less hassle. Does anyone know if they might give her this stamp if she asks at the biometrics appointment? The USCIS office is 150 miles away, so we really don't want to make a separate trip just to get the stamp.
Thanks
Hi
I got an I 551 stamp and it works. You simply need to make an info pass appointment to your local office. Go there with your letter and passport. They will emboss a stamp in your passport.

Moemac59: We have not heard many people from VSC in Sept or Oct. getting RFE's. So I do not know if they simply backlogged due to other work load or something else.
-
Kash2011: Wow. Thats a long time. Their Atl field office is half a mile from my office. I bet I run into half of them at the mall during lunch time.
-
moemac59: We may be about 1.5 to 2 months away I think.
Looks like VSC is severely backlogged even though they transferred cases in Nov, 2014, just before we filed ours

Congratulations anniecruz

Has any one of you tried to submit additional evidences of bonafide marriage to them without getting a RFE?
If so...what was their response?
I am thinking of sending them my 2014 taxes without them asking for it. Any comments? -
You can not pro actively submit more information once you have filled your application. You can send in more information unless they request for it.
-
Lialechka: Congratulations. May be they start Nov. soon as well. :-)
Armywife1130: Next is you for sure.

Hey CAdreamer: Dont start dreaming so early. :-).
Those two are an anomaly. we still have a good month before we start seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
-
Ryan76: Looks like your package is good. Send out anything and everthing that has joint information. What the heck. It does not hurt to have more stuff.
-
Fazal:
Did you respond to your RFE?
For anyone of us: Do you guys check uscis online case status? Nothing appears to be updated. Mine was updated last on nov 24th when they sent out my year extension. No updates for bio metrics completed etc
Kash: Looks like you are from Atlanta as well. What do you think is the N400 response time for us? I meant the turn around time. Is it a year or less?

"on the road again": What people say here is not considered as facts. People are simply sharing their experiences along this journey. Just because something happens in your case does not mean that it would go the same way for other people. Everyone's case is different. We do not know the details of other cases. Some cases are more complicated and screwed up than others. Some are simple and straight forward.
-
KASH2011: Looks like you got yours approved in six months at Vermont. Can you update all of us about the documents you had submitted to them etc?
-
My suggestion is that you get EVERY THING ready including signing the form. Hire an attorney. And ask the attorney to send the paperwork out on 90th day or 89th day. That way postal stamp shows that you were in 90 days window..not sooner.
If you fill out your form and complete the package before going to the attorney, your cost of hiring the attorney might not be much.
I wouldnt wait till I come back.
Either that or change your schedule and come back sooner or go later.

These are low priority cases for them. They do not kind of care about how long it takes.

Zentaco: You and I have the same approval date for GC. I filed my ROC in Vermont though. Most likely none of us will hear back till sometimes in May....
ttof80biz: Can you tell us what documents you had submitted? Just curious.
-
ttof80biz:
Congratulations.
looks like California Service center is moving.

90 days before the three year mark is when you become eligible to apply for N 400.

Get an I 551 stamp in your passport. It will make your life easier when you board the plane from Pakistan. Sometimes they dont understand things as Extension letter..but they will recognize the i 551 stamp in the passport.

Soju:
I 751 and CR189 is the same thing. You need to use the number that is stated on your biometrics letter. That is the only number that will allow you to track on line status

Does that mean that the application sits there getting dusted for 6 months...and then it gets roughly 20 mins or less and a decision is made? You think that they are either under staffed or over loaded with work of this kind?
