  1. You would be better served with "experts" that have processed through your embassy and they can be found in the sub-forum for your country located here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/149-india/

Keep in mind that a forum like this one is for initial bonding with others who are along the same timeline as you for initial processing. The initial application is the same no matter where in the world you are. But, having said that, once you get your approval (NOA2 text message or email), you should become familiar with your country's sub-forum to get a better understanding of the process for the Embassy that you will be interviewing with. This will allow you to get direct answers from those who have processed and received their visa before you. Every Embassy is different in the requested documents. For instance, the Embassy in the Philippines does not require bank statements and at this point are not even asking for an update I-134 as they are using the one that was submitted with the I-129F.

Thank you so much for the link to the India forum. I didn't submit the I-134 with my I-129F. I read that my fiance would need the I-134 for the interview; therefore, I did not submit it with the I-129F application. Hope I didn't make a big big mistake.

  2. Hi Everyone,

I am gathering the supporting documents for Form I-134 Affidavit for Support. The K-1 guide on this website listed a bank letter as one of the documents. It said the bank letter should be from your financial institution and should contain the date you open the account, the total deposits for the year and the balance in the account. Is there a sample letter for this? I have my monthly bank statements, but this is asking for a letter. I would like to see an example, so that I can request this from my bank. Currently the list of supporting documents that I have are: 2014 & 2015 income tax documents, 2014 & 2015 W-2 Forms, paycheck stubs, bank statements, and employer verification letter. Thanks in advance for your help!

  3. Hi January Filers,

I need help. I am filling out form I-134 Affidavit for Support and I'm confused with number 7. The line that says, " I own real estate valued at:". On that line I put the value of my house. Then the next line states, "With mortgage(s) or other encumbrance(s) thereon amounting to:". Do I put the total amount I pay each month for my mortgage? Thanks in advance for helping.

  4. Congrats to all who received their NOA2...

Im trying hard to stay calm, patient and positive :clock:

I know what you're feeling. I am trying to stay calm too. I try to just focus on daily things that I need to do. I tell myself that I won't look at timelines today, but I just can't help myself. I want to see the approvals and track the passing of them to see when we should receive ours. Reading the forums have been very helpful for me. I'm a grateful that this website exist.

  5. Hello people I just wanted to inform that I just got my noa2 approval status update today.

Hello people I just wanted to inform that I just got my noa2 approval status update today.

I am happy and I wish and pray to almighty that each and everyone should get it fast so that they can be together with their loved once and spread joy around the world.

Congratulations! I'm so happy for both of you! Please update your timeline. Thanks!
  6. Drop me a line anytime, please. I see we are in Texas, Houston you and Dallas me, maybe once our fiances are in Texas, we can meet in person. I am excited about the whole process and this wonderful possibility to fall in love with the person, not a skin color or country. The long distance love is not easy, here trying to keep it and take it to the happy end. Good luck to you too!

    Tasha

Oh wow, I didn't realize you were in Texas. We definitely have to meet up and celebrate once the fiancés arrive. I also want to talk and discuss with you your plans for the wedding and get ideas. The long distance is a challenge. We have managed to set in place some non-negotiables that we must do each day and that's spending time together at the beginning of our day and the end of our day. We also get excited when we are going to meet in person. That gives us something to look forward to. My birthday was Valentine's Day and so he has made plans to meet me in Jamaica for spring break in March to celebrate. I work in education so I'm off for a week in March. I'm looking forward to seeing him because it's been 8 months since we met. I will inbox you so we can talk more. Thanks!
  7. So if you haven't already done this, go to the USCIS.GOV site and create your account. Once you create it, log into your case. When you scroll down about the middle of the page you should see you case number. Next to that if should give you an option to turn off and on your notification for Email and Phone text. I am glad I did this, because I got notified 11pm last night of my approval of the application(which should be the NOA2). Just want to share that with everyone else.

Congratulations! I did this and when I clicked on the button to turn the alert on, I didn't see it click by changing color or anything. It just looked the same so then I became concern whether the alerts were turned on or not. Do I need to access the website on my laptop?
  8. Thank very much, I am excited to share our NOA1 date and you are right, we are moving forward. May I add you as a friend? This way I can remember and see how your process is going. And I am an American woman by the way.

    Tasha

Yes of course, that will be great. Very nice to meet you. I live here in Houston, Texas. I must say that I have learned so much about immigration processes and I have a newly found respect for those that have endured this process. Our hearts do not care about race or culture or another country. It's amazing how love finds us in the not so obvious places. I'm excited and I'm so glad to have true love!
  9. I see a few Jan Filers are getting their NOA2. Mine was received Jan 6, at what point should I start freaking out because I haven't heard anything back yet?

I have been observing the approval of applications and it seems that are approaching these applications in order. But I am not sure why some are skipped. Maybe the applications are given out to various adjudicators and some more faster than others. Or maybe it is dependent on the complications of the various cases. I know it can be hard to deal with. I would hope for the best and look for you to get approved in the next week or two. The freaking out part should definitely happen once 5 months has passed because the website says that is how long it can take to get approval.

  10. Here also January and NOA1 on January 28, I wish it goes faster

    Tasha

    Hi,

We have the same NOA1 date on January 28th. The latest approved application that I have seen on Igor's List is January 14th so we are getting closer. I'm so appreciative that we are being processed at the California Service Center and it's good to see the applications that are steadily being approved each week. I just enjoy seeing our number in the list going decreasing each day, which means more and more applications are being approved and then we're are next. I think it is very important at this time to make all the necessary preparations with your home and to look into what type of employment your soon to be spouse may be interested in once he/she is approved to work. This website's forums are phenomenal and very informative, so you can also read them and be knowledgeable of next steps in the process after the application is approved. Best of Luck and enjoy the journey! :goofy:

  11. Hi January Filers,

We sent our I-129 F package on 01/23/2016, which made it to the Dallas Lockbox on 01/24/2016 and today (01/28/2016) we received a text and email notification (NOA1) giving us our receipt number, which is our case number (WAC##########), and letting us know that our case is being forwarded to the California Service Center (CSC). The email also said that the Form I-797, which is the hard copy receipt notice, should arrive in the mail within the next 7-10 days. They suggested to wait until we receive the Form I-797 before checking our case status. I guess this is to give them time to update the status. Now we hope for a smooth ride to the NOA2 without a Request For Evidence (RFE). Now the waiting begins and hopefully not for long! :joy:Good luck everyone!

  12. For iPhone it's called USCIS Case Tracker & Searcher

Here's the link for iTunes to download the app: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/uscis-case-tracker-searcher/id921827126?mt=8

Thanks so much! I was trying to reply to your message like you did for ours via my iPhone. Then I got on my laptop and saw more options to do MultiQuote. LOL! I'm still trying to learn this site. Thanks for the link. I went to the app store on my iPhone and installed USCIS Case Tracker Searcher and I-Tracker Lite. At this point, I can't track anything, but I'll be able to once I receive my case number. Thanks for everything!

  13. Hi January Filers! We are now officially apart of the group. I sent our package today via FedEx and it is scheduled to be delivered on Monday morning January 25, 2016 by 10:30am. I am very thankful for this website and the plethora of information on here. Thanks to everyone for all the support. We will need it through this process.

I have a few questions. When will we receive our case number? How can we check the status of our application? I read in the thread about apps, but I couldn't see initially what apps they were referring to. Thanks to all of you for your time! ??
