  2. hello everyone ...

I don't think it matters.. some people send none, some send 10. I personally sent about 20. Make sure you have pictures with friends and family and include wedding photos as well if you can.

The point is to show them that you have a relationship so try to establish a timeline. I sent pictures of us from college, pics at friends weddings, pics of graduation. So on so forth.

I just went on the uscis site to check my case status with the receipt numbers they gave me - and it was only for my AOS (I got three notifications, since I handed it in for AOS, EAD, and AP) that they said it was going to Nebraska Service Center...

Did a lot of research for my K1, but not as much for this package - anyone know if going to Nebraska's a good thing?

I can't find any info on Nebraska processing times.. guess we'll find out?

  3. On August 1, 2014, your fingerprint fee was accepted and we have mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. Your case is being processed at our NEBRASKA SERVICE CENTER location

So I have to join u guys !! :D good luck to everyone IM ALSO WAITING PATIENTLYY

Im hoping that Nebraska is faster than the other service centers !!!! :D

    regards

    Yaaay! Hoping it goes quickly!

  4. " (USCIS office specifically) takes a different approach then the state of Pennsylvania."

The very fact that they used "then" instead of "than" tells me they're idiots! ;) (English teacher hat off) You can absolutely sign in your married name. The certified copy of your marriage license shows the transition from maiden to married name. They need to be fired. AND you should try to get a refund. Your husband's email was definitely the more professional of the two.

    My sentiments exactly!

I had to read that sentence a few times XD. "Then" relates to time, "than" introduces a comparison.

    :ranting:

  5. I called around a couple of doctors before I got an appointment, one of the offices said they accepted cash only (!!), after I heard that, I pretty much assumed that no matter where I go, I'm going to get ripped off somehow. My appointment lasted almost 3 hours, 2.5 of it was sitting around and waiting. The doctor didn't directly answer my question about vaccine schedule, he just said "you should have had at least 2 more of TDAP and 1 more MMR".

Good that you got to have a cheaper appt :) did you have to get a blood test?

Yeah there's no escaping the blood test haha. I looked at my vaccination record and did research on the timeline. They wanted to do the TDap but I pointed out I wasn't due for it yet. Vaccines are covered by insurance if you go to your family/ regular doctor. I wasn't about to pay out of pocket for them.
  6. The appointment itself was $150, I had to get a chest Xray ( in Belarus I was given a BCG vaccine, which gives false positive on TB test), blood test ( for STDs), an MMR vaccine and Tdap vaccine - all that was another $240.

International student office at my college told me that my student health insurance covers only instances where I am sick, and wouldn't cover vaccinations and various tests. So I decided to go ahead and pay the $240 to get everything done right there.

Wow your doc was pricey.. mine cost $100. I had the BCG vaccine in my home country as well, but I'd had a chest xray within 2 years though so they didn't give me one this time. They just listened to my lungs and breathing and said everything sounded good so they labeled it a false positive. Also I'm not due for the TDAP until Dec. And I was good on all other vaccines. Guess I got lucky.
  7. Didn't see a topic for those who have filed for AoS in August of 2014 so I figured I'd create one.

Met my SO in high school were friends for about 5 years, started dating on my 21st birthday (Sept. 2011). Moved in together after about a year and a half (May 2013) live in our first apt for a year then recently moved in May 2014 to a bigger place.

    Got married June 2014.

Sent out AoS documents, concurrent to Chicago just this morning (8/2/2014).

Post your story and timeline. Patience was never my virtue but I feel like we can get through this as a community. I will cry, laugh, rejoice and be frustrated right along with you.
