  1. Hey Castlerosse,

I was thinking of messaging you because I saw that your local office is also Dallas. Yes, I will be interviewing in Dallas.

I wonder why it hasn't moved yet...but the whole process is so crazy... Hope your case status updates soon! Will be waiting to hear from you :)

Have you heard anything of how long the whole process is taking at Dallas?

From what I understand, it should be about 3 months across the board.. however the uscis website shows about 5 months for TX. Looks like your case is moving quickly though so you might stay within the 3 month mark.
  2. Hi August family!

I am also an August Adjustment of Status filer!

So happy to find others in the same journey!

My application was mailed July 31st

    Reached Chicago on Aug 1st

Got the NOA on Aug 10th (dated Aug 6th)

Biometrics Notice on Aug 18th for Aug 27th and I did a successful early walk in on Aug 20th.

Status changed to "testing and interview scheduling" on August 29th.

Now, I am waiting on the notice for an interview and it cannot come soon enough!

My husband is in the military and overseas and I have to wait for the green card to join him.

Has anyone's changed to scheduling an interview yet??

    Wishing everyone good luck.

Your local office is in TX? I did my biometrics on 08/26 and there has not been any movement since. Haven't even moved testing and interview yet. Getting a little nervous.
  3. Today I brought my husband to his Biometrics appointment in St. Paul at 10:00 am. There was barely anyone there. The Security guy was a right grump and reminded us of a grumpy Customs Officer. Anyway we only had to wait for a couple mins for him to get called on after sitting down. They took his fingerprints and took his picture. The woman who did this was a very nice lady. She also said it will be 2-3 weeks until he gets his EAD which would make it a month ahead of schedule since we just filed for AOS/EAD/AP in early August. Has anyone else been told when their EAD would come from one of these people?

Never been told when.. i do hope he gets it within 3 weeks though! :)

  4. From what I understand, you can still get RFEs until the interview gets scheduled. There are people who stayed in this stage for 2-3 months waiting for the interview scheduling and got RFEs during that time. And then there are the people who got the interview letter two weeks after this notice, so you never know. I am personally rooting for the second scenario! :content:

Definitely hoping you get the second scenario as well! *fingers crossed*
  5. It's funny you should ask, because just last night I was contemplating how I'm not nearly as uptight about this process as I was the K1. Once we got our NOA2 and our biometrics letter, I relaxed 1000%. Right now, we're totally focused on our upcoming wedding (the public one. no one knows we already got married) and rearranging the house to make it "home" for him and his son. I must say that I will be very happy when he's bringing in an income (as will he; he feels odd not working), but it's been GREAT having someone who's home and doing everything necessary to run things. Best. Husband. Ever. :luv:

Biometrics appt is next Friday. I'll likely check the USCIS website after that. :)

Yeah, that is awesome! Glad you're relaxed now :)
  6. To the ones who already had their biometrics appointment, did you guys get any updates on your case? I created an account on USCIS website to store my receipt numbers and track my case, it shows that my case hasn't been touched since august 8th ( when my biometrics letter was issued). Being optimistic as I am, I expected some movement right after biometrics appointment :goofy:

It's been over a week since my bio appt and there has been no movement in the force :(
  7. Haven't checked this forum in a while.. Castlerosse, any update on this?

Did you have any other applications with USCIS before the current ones? My first thought on this was that you had something pending when you sent in your current application and the old one got deferred action. Anyway, fingers crossed everything works out.

I got deferred action November 8th 2012 so it's due to expire soon.. i was just shocked that they would send a letter reminding me to reapply when I currently have an AoS pending.

Maybe the name change threw them off?

    :/

  8. Nice! things are progressing so fast for you! That's really cool. :) I can't believe how different our timelines are when we mailed our applications on the same day! We're still (not so) patiently waiting for our biometrics letter to show up. Some of it has to be location in the US, I would guess? I mean, we're going through Los Angeles, so they must be busy (I'm thinking?). Otherwise, like with the rest of USCIS, the major differences can't be explained. /shrug.

Yeah. I wish we had insight to the timeline differences, because this doesn't make sense. I always thought it was a first-come, first-serve type of deal. It certainly should be. We were all sent to the same place weren't we?

    I hope it arrives soon!

  9. Got my biometrics letter yesterday and my appointment is already in 3 days!!!

I didnt check mail for a week, but I checked online every day and it showed acceptance all the time, not even initial review, so I thought it would take another week or so to get it.

It's weird, it says the letter was issued on august 8 ( NOA1 august 6), but then I dont know why it took them so long to mail it (the stamp says it was mailed ONLY on august14), so it's already a week and then another week because I didnt check my mail.

what if i didnt check my mail for the next few days and missed my boimetrics. It could have actually happened...

Oh well. I'm not complaining :) Just didnt expect my appointment in less then 3 weeks after NOA1. At least It will be a good lesson for me now, not to rely on online updates and always to check my mail.

I wish the whole process was that fast;:)

    Good luck, guys!!!

OH wow that was close! Any time I do anything USCIS, I check my mail like a woman possessed.
  10. Hi all! We have prepared all the necessary documents for the AOS application. My concern though is I used my husband's last name on our AOS applications. Is it ok to sign all the documents using my maiden's signature since I do not have any ID yet carrying my husband's last name? Thank you for your replies.

The marriage license has your maiden name on it (for reference if they need it) and it's proof of your marriage.. so you're ok to use and sign with your married name.

  11. We're hoping to expedite. My husband has been in contact with a local businessman who is very anxious for him to get his EAD card, as they're in the same line of work, and the guy needs the help! We're hoping he'll write a formal offer letter so that he can request an expedite. Of course, still no actual mail from USCIS today. If not for those texts, I'd be pulling my hair out (even more than I was!).

It's probably in transit. You should hear something very soon.. fingers crossed.
