  1. Hi folks - another quick update. I received a letter today, dated 11/19/07, indicating that the "State Deparment's National Visa Center has recently received an approved I-129F petition filed on behalf of your fiance. This letter is to let you know that within a week the petition will be forwarded to the appropriate visa-issuing post where your visa interview will take place."

So we received our NOA2 on 10/18, and it looks like our petition should be officially forwarded to the Bangkok Embassy by the beginning of this coming week.

Based on the timeline in the K1 flowchart, it looks like we should expect the Bangkok Embassy to receive the package in approximately one week, and that we should then receive the package w/in one additional week or less. I think this will probably mean that the earliest we could get the interview scheduled would be the beginning of January - since it's my understanding that there are only a limited number of interviews scheduled for the 2nd half of December.

From the recent posts, it sounds like there are a number of us who are all on a similar timeline. Looking forward to updates from other VisaJourney folks as things happen over the next couple of months.

As much as I miss my fiancee, I am hoping my interview will be the 3rd-4th week of January. I am not fond of flying during the craziness of the holidays. In addition, I see many flights are already booked up and costing top dollar. I know things will start slowing down with the airlines about mid January, so for me this would be the ideal time to have an interview sheduled.

    Thanks ThaiStyleUSA.

    Good luck everybody!!

  2. Texas...thanks so much for compliment. Best of luck to you as well. I'm sure we'll be communicating many times in the process. I am also trying to get everyone (with Thai spouse) to buy in on the idea of forming an annual get together on a weekend somewhere neutral perhaps next year in Spring time. More to come. Take care.

Great idea ThaiStyle -- count us in. What a great way to celebrate, as there are few other people on the planet that can understand what we're all going through right now.

And who knows. There certainly may be several of us converging on BKK at the same time in early '08 to help our ladies step through the final phases of this process. I know one big source of stress for my fiancee was the idea of flying alone to the U.S. Once I told her I'd be there and we'd fly back here together I could feel some of the stress melt away.

In any event, let's aim for the first annual Sawasdee 2 Farang-Palooza in 2008!

I am also planning to be with my fiancee during the interview, then flying back together. LA International Airport is hard enough to navigate even for US citizens. Coming to a new country will be difficult enough without adding the extra stress of the airport.

The embassy just emailed me and stated they had mailed packet 3 to my fiancee on Nov. 21st. Hope the packet gets there, as we all know how unreliable the Thai mail system is. The embassy did not state if they sent the packet via EMS or regular mail. Hopefully I will receive it soon.

    Good luck everybody!

  3. Just received an email from the Embassy in Thailand. Packet 3 mailed to my fiancee on Nov. 21st. Hopefully it gets to her home because the Thai mail system is very unreliable. Fortunately, I have all the forms from packet three already filled out, so if my fiancee does not receive her packet from the Embassy we will send out the forms we downloaded.

What a long, strange trip this has been.

  4. I see that when everyone gets their medicals done in Thailand they also get the needed vaccinations. Everything I read states that the vaccinations are not necessary until filing for the AOS. Has anyone gotten their visa approved in Thailand without getting the vaccinations there? Since my fiancee would be on my medical plan, it would not cost anything to have her get her vaccinations in the US.

  5. Hi

I'm very worried about my visa status. There is no update on the touch online, since July 7th. Its been 146 days since we received NOA1. My fiance has hired a lawyer and he says everything will go fine. I'm worried since most of the June filers have got NOA2. Anyone else in the same boat? Does a call to VSC help?

    June 21, 2007 : I-129F sent to VSC

    June 27, 2007 : NOA1 (from VSC)

    July 7 2007 : Touch

Online status - Case received and pending from June 25th

  7. Today we were informed that the I-129F was approved.

I am the happiest man in the world, and will be even happier on the possible interview approval :D

Thank you VisaJourney, for everyones help so far and everything.

We didn't get a RFE, and it took a total of 140days from notice date.

Thank you all again, will keep you updated!

    Congratulations!!

  8. It must be nice that you guys can check the embassy website for updates on your case. The Embassy in Thailand only posts the interview date once packet 3 is mailed back to them. They do not show if they have received my petition from NVC, or if they have sent out packet 3. Makes it hard not knowing.

    Good luck everyone!!!
