  1. Well, Yutipha made it through her medical yesterday, at Bumrungrad Hospital. Her examination and 3 shots cost her 5,000 baht. Yutipha got sick from the vaccinations.

She then went to apply for her police certificate. The police told her it would be ready on Dec. 19. They will send it to her by EMS.

Next, she went to the post office to pay for her visa fee. It cost her 3,700 baht. While at the post office, she mailed off packet 3 to the Embassy. Nothing left to do now but wait for an interview date. I will email the Embassy next week to see if they received packet 3. Hopefully we will have an interview early to mid January.

Hopefully the hardest part of this process is almost over. I am hoping to be leaving early January to Thailand, to be with Yutipha. It will be 7 months since we were together. I know that I do not need to say more, since we all know the feeling of missing our loved one.

I think I've gotten a few more greys hairs since this process started.

  2. Hello guys. Just want to share this with you.

We've got GOOD NEWS! My fiance called to the NVC today and a lady told our case was sent to the embassy here in BRAZIL on Nov. 26th. I've been checking all this time at the USCIS and no touches, no letters from the NVC and suddenly I asked Luke to call and we found out it.

I'm holding on it, hope it's true.

    SO HAPPY!

    GOOD LUCK TO EVERYBODY!!!!!

REGARDS FROM A HOT BRAZIL.

    Congratulations!!

On November 28, 2007, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

    HAPPY DANCE TIME!!!!!!! :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

THANKS EVERYONE FOR KEEPING US SANE! hehehe

    Congratulations!!!!

  4. Still have not received Packet 3, so I emailed the Embassy. They responded by emailing me and my fiancee the contents of Packet 3. She is traveling to BKK tonight and will get her medical done tomorrow, along with applying for her police report and paying for the visa. She will mail packet 3 at the post office when she pays for her visa, to avoid any further delays. Knowing how the mail system works in Thailand, it will probably take a week to get to the Embassy. :jest:

    Congratulations MarkNAam!!!

  6. Hey guys, I just found out that NVC recieved our application on Friday, and so now I'm waiting with you for interview! YEah, I'm so excited!

Congratulations Rodgiegirl. I am happy things are finally moving along for you.

My fiancee will have have her medical on Friday, as well as applying for her police report and paying for her visa. Hoping to have an interview date early to mid January. I cannot wait for this part to be over!

    Good luck everybody!

  7. YEA!! I just got off the phone with the Dept. of State and our paperwork was received by the Tokyo Consulate and packet 3 was mailed out today to my SO!!:dance::dance: I finally feel like we're getting somewhere!!

    Hey u2rsobad,

Glad to see things are finally moving along. My fiancee received her packet 3 and will have her medical and get her police certificate this Friday. Hopefully both our SO's will have an interview date soon!

    Good luck!

  8. You welcome Afterforever...I am sort of in the same situation. Our interview probably some time toward the end of January. It doesn't look like I will be able to have enough days to get away from work to be with her during the interview. But she does understand the situation. I am coaching her right now for interview. I am trying to alleviate the fear from her.

it took about 2 weeks for my husband to get packet 3...a piece of advice if i may. now that you know it's in the post, just go ahead and download everything and and send in notice that you are prepared for your interview it will save a few weeks time. by the time they recieve everything you can have your medical, certificate of being single etc all ready.

    GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for the info Kang Lang.

If we send in the notice that we are prepared for the interview, will my fiance still have enough time to apply for and receive the police certificate? I know the medical can be done quickly but I am worried my fiancee will not receive the police certificate in time. Also, do you know if she would be able to have her sister pick up the certificate? The sister lives in BKK, my fiance lives in Udon Thani, so it would obviously be a time saver.

  9. Well, we're about to graduate from the K1 forum!!!

My fiancee went through the interview this morning in Bern, Switzerland. Smooth interview, no questions asked, officer just checked the documents (btw, I-134 only required, no tax return needed) and she should get the visa before the end of this week. Wedding papers will be signed on 12/10 since she flies back on 12/09.

    Good luck to all

    Stephan

    Congratulations!!!!

  10. Oh, wow, the misinformation in this thread.

The law does NOT read "You must have entered the USA with a valid visa, and may NOT have entered with the intent of getting married" and the quotes are deceptive - obviously this does not come from the INA, as it's more along the lines of not entering with intention to marry and STAY. Tourist visas can be used for marriage if you intend to marry but not stay.

The OP does NOT have to return to her country within the limits of her visa, overstay (if she incurs any illegal presence, we all know sometimes paper work doesn't work out as quickly as we want to) is forgiven anyway through marriage to a USC. She just should not under ANY circumstances leave until she receives her green card.

You need to file ALL forms in the same envelope, otherwise you risk a large mess due to their separation - and a cover letter is a letter you write saying what is enclosed in the package. This is not necessary, but many choose to write it.

I guess reading posts all day on VJ has made you a seasoned immigration attorney.
