Hi everyone just an update, if you remember my rant from a few months ago regardingyds 260 being filed wrong i juat realized that the reason my husband has to file a waiver its because of that. Since we disclosed the right answer it was view as misrepresentation. Working with a lawyer now and hoping that my country won't deny my chance at happiness because i disclosed the right answer before the interview.

Now the embassy in DR has been closed since yesterday do to technical difficulties. They are rescheduling interviews as the go.
Just have to hooe is fixed before weekend or hope.I get a new date before then to change my flight. ?

Hi everyone!
I just wanna say that I have been in a long distance relationship for over 5 years now.
I had already applied for a fiance visa for him but a certain someone who hated my (then) fiance ruined the whole case for us and we had to withdraw.
Now after we got married and all the family drama is over with, we are in the last stages of the CR1 process.....and it is ABSOLUTE TORTURE
I hate NVC for being so unpredictable.
After 5 years of tumult and separation and tears I realize that this new month of July or August could be life-changing for the both of us and
could finally close this stupid gap.....I just want to tell other long-distance couples to hang in there please and have faith.
If this is truly the person that makes you happy, fight for them through everything that's trying to separate you guys, fight the distance, and fight the grudges
and egos that keep you back from approaching them and saying you're sorry or that you love them even if they were wrong. Blame the distance and not being
able to hug them through a tough situation. Value your relationship more than your egos. Hang in there everyone and I hope that everyone get's united with their loved ones soon!

It's been week since rep said i had a cc no letteR yet, ready for interview except for chats which i need to reduce. I should have left something for now so i wouldn't be obsessively refreshing my email. ?

Sorry you feel that way. But it does tend to get obsessive with checking, I made a friend at nvc since I used to call the same days at the same time to wish her a good weekend and good work week, ceac and my email becamet he only browser open just to refresh during my work day.
It will all end eventually that's the only sure thing, hoping is sooner for you and that we all keep each other sane.

He may not need a joint sponsor at all because he currently makes above the poverty guidelines.
What I would do is have your husband do the I-864. Then have his brother do a joint sponsor I-864 as well. Make two originals of the brother's I-864. Keep one to send to the NVC if they ask for a joint sponsor. But send the other to you in case the NVC is fine with the AOS but the embassy is not. The embassy makes the final decision.
In this case his brother and your husband can combine incomes because they are related and live together, but they don't have to. This way if you don't need the joint sponsor, then aren't using one. They're also not having to add a person so your husband's household count. Your husband would count 2 and so would his brother, unless the brother claims him on taxes and provided there are no children or other dependents.
