How come you still have you expired green card on you when you have a stamp? The officer took my expired green card away after he stamp my passport.

The "piece of paper saying your green card was extended" if it's the official letter is all you need, with your expired green card and passport.  I've been with someone who traveled to and from the Philippines with exactly that letter and it wasn't an issue.  That is the only document that will allow you to travel until the new green card arrives, so either cancel (delay) your trip or travel with the letter.  It is enough.

If you already have a SS# you don't need a new card. The number you have is yours for life. You can use it for work as soon as your EAD/greencard is on hand.

Thank you guys for the comments. I'm gonna bring my child birth certificate and adoptive parents letter that they are responsible for the child. I hope it could help. And of course I will tell them nothing but the truth. I really appreciate your positive comments guys. And were applying k1 visa. Not yet married.

Maybe have a chance that CO not goin to deny your application as long as you will be honest to them and tell them that your fiance already knew about it... Your only the biological mother of your child as you said the adoptive parents name is on your child birth...
So maybe they just gonna ask something from you and your fiance... As long as he knows about it now and still pursuing his petition then maybe you will have a chance...
