I have applied for jobs corresponding to my skill set, but you make me want to try and apply for jobs in other fields. Like you, I don't have any American work experience. I think that's why they don't even call me for an interview.

I might have the possibility to be a part-time intern in a local company to get my first American work experience, my husband works there. Hopefully they have enough budget to do it. It's an idea his boss came up with when he heard I couldn't find a job. Really nice person

I'm also starting my own business from home, hoping it will help pay the bills.

Inna I took my EAD and passport to SSN office and applied.. He told me card with arrive in 2-3 weeks. Quick question everyone, he did not give me a receipt is that normal? He just took my documents, then I saw him doing something on his computer and then he said thats it card will arrive 2-3 weeks.

I know how you feel. The employer gave me 2 weeks to get my documents before I lose the offer and one week as passed and I feel like tearing my hair out . The wait is killing me! I might be checked into a hospital soon because I am going crazy lol.

So being the impatient person I am (lol), I called USCIS and spoke with a tier 2 officer. He told me that they are going through a system transition with the printing of EAD cards and how they are mailed out. He said because of the change, the EAD are taking longer than normal to be printed...

Oh great! Just what I needed! I'm tired of waiting, I feel like a lion in a cage... I am one of those people who don't feel accomplished without a job, unfortunately. Tired of being financially dependent on my husband, unable to contribute.

Since they send it priority mail I'm guessing you need to be there to give a signature. I lived somewhere where the doorbell was broken, just stuck up a piece of paper on the front door to say so and to knock really loudly! It worked.

So checked my status...apparently my card had arrived and USPS tried to deliver it yesterday at 12pm and today in the morning, even though someone was in at both of those times, they said the delivery has failed. The tracking states that the address was "undeliverable" but I've received all my USCIS correspondence so far at the address provided. Not sure who to call, USCIS or USPS.

So they need us to be there to give us the card? Doorbell is broken here, great! Worse than the Pony Express...

I got an update from USCIS early this morning that on July 25th my Application for Travel Document was approved and on July 27th my Application for Employment Authorization was also approved!

I have a quick question - I had my biometrics appointment on July 1st, my USCIS case status for AOS still says "Fingerprint Fee Was Received", EAD and AP status says "my Case Was Received"

Is this normal? Should it have changed?

Yes, it's normal, they don't update as they should.

Yes, perfectly normal. The only update I saw is because they sent me a RFE and they confirmed they got my response.

Update 7/9 today on our I-485. Previous update was 7/9.......anyone else ?

I can log in just fine, still no updates though...

Got RFE yesterday for affidavit of support. They request the 1040 form from 2014. We put it in our packet, so I don't get it... We'll send it again, I guess.

That's exactly why we went the K1 route. I know myself all too well and being married to my partner without living with him was inconceivable! It's probably hard on her, being away from you. She's got to be patient.

Hi!

I'm currently filling in the forms to file my Adjustment of Status from K1. I'm filing for EAD at the same time.

I read in the EAD form (I-765) instructions that I need to add 2 passport pictures, a copy of my passport and a copy of my visa.

My question is since all of this is already included in my I-485 package, am I supposed to add them again? Should this I-765 form be treated as a totally different package?

My future mother in law picked me up at the airport to make a surprise to my fiancé. I was waiting for him at home when he came back from work that day. Initially I told him I would arrive the week after, but I planned the surprise with his mom from the start The day after we went to apply for a SSN number.

When my father-in-law cooks it's soaking in oil, but apparently that's just what they do in China (he goes through about 2.5 gallons of cooking oil per month).
