Guys, I didn't apply for a passport at the ceremony because I didn't have time to take a picture before hand - I also didn't have the time to wait in line there as the line was huge. Either way - just wanted to share that my regular (non rushed) application at the post office that I did July 21st, shipped out today August 3rd. Regular processing took 13 days. I didn't have to spend the time in line, I didn't have to pay the $60 for expedited service and I took my picture with my iphone at home - then used https://www.idphoto4you.com/ to create the passport photo file. Cost like $1 at walgreens instead of $15 if you go and take a passport photo there.
 
Anywho, just my 5 cents worth..

So, the whole ceremony was kinda over the top ridiculous - but fun to have witness. I didn't get my passport application submitted because the line was monstrous and I didn't plan to do it then before - so I hadn't filled it out nor gotten a picture taken. I'll just go to my local post office and get it done some time in the future. Don't have any immediate international travel plans until end of the year anyway.
 
So, they showed a recording of Donald Trump, wishing us good luck and telling how honorable it is to be a US citizen. If it would come from anyone else than him, It would have been better received. Having him talk is a comedy in itself. So, to anyone that will be going to the oath anytime soon - brace yourself. Donny video may make you lol!

Got a text message. My interview has finally been scheduled. Waiting for the letter now.
My I-751 was transferred to NBC on May 8. It had been almost 2 months and still didn't receive an update. So I filed a service request for my I-751 today around 12 PM and received an update around 3 PM that my N-400 has been scheduled. I checked my service request status and it says it has been assigned to the officer for response. I guess the service request kinda triggered the interview.

Received notification early this morning that the Oath notice was mailed. Should have it mid next week - most likely for oath July 12th. Will update as soon as I know.

Received notification that Interview has been scheduled (yesterday, the 9th). Online status changed to "Testing and interview"

Then your applications will most likely be combined. Mine didn't go in-line until after I-751 was approved.. If yours hasn't then CSC has sent your file to NBC. You could call and ask a tier 2  - see if your I-751 has been transferred or CSC still have it.

Thats good news! I guess I751 was approved first yesterday but didn't get updated until today. Would make the most sense.

I honestly don't know. Since you filed your N-400, your end goal is citizenship anyway. You cut in line by filing this way since you never know when I-751 will be approved if you wait - and total wait time for N-400 is the same with combined or not.
 
For me, I stopped caring a while back and was pleasantly surprised when my ROC was approved as everything was pointing towards a combined I-751/N-400 file.. But CSC surprisingly refused to send my I-751 to NBC and approved instead - then sent over the file. I called Tier 2 multiple times and they kept saying that NBC had requested my I-751 to combine it - and literally a month later CSC still hadn't sent it.. I was frustrated with CSC not sending my file, but they said there's nothing I could do about it since it's all within normal processing time.. 

@GreatDane: Hope that's not a blanket statement. I applied for N-400 7/29/17 and had my I-751 approved 11/27/17. In most cases, NBC requests the I-751 file from CSC/VSC if it's still pending, and once the file reaches NBC, the case is combined and in-line for interview. This just makes more and more sense given the numerous calls I had with Tier 2 officers. They all told me that my case would be combined and it will take longer because of this - since NBC had requested my I-751 (notes in my N-400 case). However, they did not see in-transit on my I-751 case and said that CSC must have forgotten to update. Now, it looks like CSC didn't send my I-751 file over and instead processed it, then sent it over (I called and asked after I-751 approval). The Tier 2 officer said that my I-751 was marked as completed and in transit to NBC. When NBC received it, they put me in-line for interview (last week).
 
So, some of the observations I have are: If your case is not in-line, it has not been combined and might still be approved even tho you have a pending N-400. Once In-line, the application package (N-400) is complete and will be forwarded to the field office who scheduled the interview. There seem to be edge cases where N-400 gets In-line and even scheduled - but I-751 is not approved. That I don't know how it happens - I guess a miss at NBC..

My card also does not have a signature, but rather says "signature waived." I read somewhere that that has become the standard practice for 10-year GCs. 

Didn't check my mailbox this weekend, but apparently I received my card Saturday - just didn't see it until this morning.

my N-400 has not moved at all. I did my biometrics in August, and thats about it. It has not been moved to In-line yet..
 
It seems to me the tier 2 officers are making up things every time you call. Either that or they are high on something because evidently nothing of what they say is happening.

I just got a text and email stating my card was ordered. I assume this means my I-751 has been approved and I am getting my 10yr card. What does not make sense is that the Tier 2 officer told me last week my I-751 file was requested by the National Benefits Center to complete my N-400 application and he told me that the cases were being combined. - Only for me to receive a green card this week - and N-400 being in the same state.
 
For you guys that applied for naturalization - you might still get your I-751 approval. Who knows whats going on at USCIS these days - and especially since I have been given all kinds of info from Tier 2..
 
Anyways, I'll keep you guys updated if I get my 10yr card or not..

I got my stamp in the passport yesterday. The officer looked at my case and said that because of my N400 application I will most likely not see a 10 year green card - but she also said "Good news - The national Benefits Center started working on your N400 application yesterday (Thursday since this was yesterday)". She said I should keep my eyes open for any interview letter from them in the next couple of weeks. She said that all electronic notifications I may have signed up for are unreliable and not automated. It's up to the officer reviewing a case to update that status. Isn't that weird?
 
She also told me that applying for N400 delays the I751 because once the officer starts to review I751, and sees there's a pending N400 application, he/she automatically puts it on hold - waiting for N400 to process through instead. So basically what everyone has been saying. Applying for N400 doesn't speed up I751, on the contrary, it slows it down. On the other hand, N400 processes the at the same pace as it should have normally - so if the ultimate goal is N400, you're ahead of the game if you apply while i751 is pending. You will however (most likely) not receive a 10yr green card, which is fine by me I guess.

Keep in mind, the people on this forum is only a tiny subset of the actual applicants. Those applicants you are referring to might or might not have been processed and might or might not be waiting for a letter for interview, RFE or approval.
 
I read somewhere that there were over 250k approved ROC's last year, thats like ~21k per month. Given that there are 65 applicants in the July thread that subset is like 0.3%

I don't know what to tell you, other than I'm relaying what I was told and the Tier 2 officer said "As of this morning CSC is working on July 22, 2016 applications - it can take up to 30 days to hear anything once they start processing your file" - I don't know where he got the date, but he was checking things so I'm sure he didn't just imagine this date.
