  1. Just when I thought I was done, today I spent two hours on the phone crying out of frustration because they refused to give my husband his vaisa because of a stupid form thats not fill. When we went to fill it, they sistem said it was already existed in the database but they ask us to get in there long story short. after much crying, i was ableto fillthe form, now we wait for the visa!!!!

  2. Hi everybody. I know it's been a long time, but I just wanted to let everybody know what's going on.

I'm in Dakar right now with my husband (thank God, we hadn't seen each other in a year) and he had his interview this past Tuesday. They didn't let me come in the embassy with him for the interview - has anybody else experienced that or heard of that happening?

My husband did really, really well with all of the questions. And answered most of them in English, which I am so proud of him for doing that. I prepared a huge binder full of all the documents and evidence, but they only asked for one document - the divorce certificate from his first marriage. Since I prepared the binder, and we only briefly went over the contents (thinking that I would be with him to help him find stuff) he couldn't find it. They asked him to come back today with the document and gave him a form 221g. We went back this morning, they took the divorce certificate and told him to hang onto the 221g, our case is in AP, and they will contact him for a second interview in about 1 to 4 weeks. Not exactly the result we were hoping for.

I really wish there were more people on this website that had been to the Dakar embassy for their interview. There was one review on the country forum that said they didn't let the US citizen spouse in the embassy, but I thought it must have been a fluke. But I guess it's just a new policy. The security people outside were extremely rude and I had an overall terrible experience. My husband said that once inside the embassy everybody was really nice. I would really like to know if we can rely on their 1-4 week timeline for AP... I'm just so tired of people asking me when my husband will be coming to the US and all I can say is "I have no idea."

SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT THAT - THATS WHY I SENT HUBBY THE DOCUMENT FOLDER 2 WEEK BEFORE Interview. Everyday I quiz him on where to fins what and what does it say?

When he got there, the man asked for socument, he handed over the 2 pound spiral book I made, they did not even open it. They said - okay, okay - points taken!!! Ask him 5 of the same questions I had prepared him to able to answer and that was the end of it. Hopefully they wont take that long!!

  3. Dear Soleanta, Romii and evryone

    https://www.google.com/search?q=Thank+you&biw=1366&bih=657&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=VS5SVIj1G8ueNtyIhNgG&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAQ

You are beyond words amazing! When I first got started Soelenta on the thread, your name was evrywhere and I was like who is that, but now I see why! You are encourage others though you are going through your own trials, your advised others though you are seeking your own answers and above all, you do it out of a sincere heart and when you need to get real, you get real. I even me and you went at it over someone cussing on the thread, which I still think I am right - no cussing should be on the thread but that is beside the point, at many stages during this process, I HONESTLY felt like I was going to crack but your words of wisdom and encouragement did wonder. I am finish with the process and now working two jobs (both which pay horrible) but together they make a living until June next year, God willing when I start teaching full time in order to finish my PHD.... CEAC has been changed to issued and I will be heading back to see my parents in law before hubby comes here ...so I will not be on here much, but I will be checking on you guys every now and then!!!!

YOU ALL - ROMIII, AND EVERYONE ELSE WHO HELP ME WHOSE PROFILE NAME I DONT REMEMBER - THANK YOU!!!

  4. Well, I am pissed mad and happy allin one! I think he got the visa "he texted me all went well" before his phone died and that is haiti no electricy....so havent hear from him as he was out all day, when he made it home called me but was at work could not talk , call back later, his sleeping head is sleeping and not answering his phone.......the drama of long distance relationship, cant wait to be done with that mess....

  5. Mine was update 10 days later! Remember, they are not just changing status! If you don't have everything, they have to draft a letter for you stating all the stuff you will need and schedule an interview for you if you don't have one! Then change the status! Don't think, your file is just sitting there, they are working on it- just wait a little bit and in the meantime - try to reach out to them by PHONE because the silly people don't repond to email. I emailed them 33 times to be exact.

  6. Line 22 is adjust gross income ONLY for Form 1040A, Line 22 for Form 1040 is Total Income (which is the correct amount).

    Let's clear up this confusion

for Form 1040: Use line 22 (Total Income)

for Form 1040A: Use line 15 (Total Income)

for Form 1040EZ: Use line 4 (Adjusted Gross Income)

One thing that I have learn in this entire process is that there is no such thing as doing too much. Give them everything you have even if they did not request it, that's how you stay away from a checklist.

  7. Congrats dear Friend,

Was surely praying for you? I am following your case too to see how it all goes. My interview is on the 28th! (1 week and a couple of days)..Did you go to the interview and what kind of questions did they ask your huuby! ! I know I am asking a lot of questions, this process will being the paranoia out of us but thank you God for grace to endure.

  8. Throughout all this process, I have been the one handling this process and all glory to God - we have made it through USCIS and NVC in less than 6 month because I literally called everyday....not its time to do medical, I told him which doctor to choose for faster response, he told me - he can just choose any of them on the list. I said - no you cant'! Some of them take so long to give the result. HE IS NOT LISTENING TO ME!

  9. OMG - WHAT'S HIS PROBLEM!!!

  10. Update on my case: I did not know I had to make the interview, I thought they were suppose to make it for me and let me know what it is? HELLO (By the way my case was expedited)

Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3731.html

  11. Oh my dear I'm so sorry your husband is being like this. Could just be in his nature doesn't necessarily mean he isn't in love with you. If he is the oldest son then

enough said, hate to say it but it's the mother' fault not his. In my country the son's but specially the oldest is treated like a king and everything he does is perfect. So tel me sweet heart is he the oldest? (L) (L)

OMG - YES HE IS THE OLDEST!

Solenta, by the way - I read the thread about all the headaches and heart attacks NVC is giving you. Hold on dear friend! It will be over EVENTUALLY! You can't stay at NVC forever.

  12. For Haiti Embassy: Do I have to make my interview or are they going to tell me what it is?

My case was expedited a week ago and went to the Haiti embassy, the whole time, it said in transit but yesterday - it updated to this: I AM GLAD BUT CONFUSED

" our case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. 13. I HATE THIS MESS

At home crying my pillows put! I work my butt of with two expedite in a row and now our case is at the embassy! My so called husband barely calls me and when I call him, the only thing he wants to know is how the paper going, did I check on it - barely care to ask how am I doing. I am broken! Sometimes, I get the feeling that I may be being used but I love him so much, I can't bare the thought of it.

  14. Thanks, with God grace everything will be fine.

The embassy called my hubby. In the packet 3 they asked him for the medical report. So, you have to have the packet 3 to do the medical ok. As soon as you receive the packet 3 you can go ahead and get it done. Make sure you save a copy of everything to bring to the interview.

    Praying for you Godalone!

In the meantime, do you know how to contact CIVA if you don't have a card because they stop selling card because Oct 11, they will no longer charge for calling.. Eagerly waiting to be done with this process.

    Ps: Thanks for your advice.....

  15. My case was expedited as well last month, but I only paid the AOS fee at NVC that's it. So, when my case was received at the embassy they called my husband to come get the packet 3. We had to send the marriage certificate, his birth certificate, 2 photos, prove of our relationaship, the medical report, my W2 and the form I-864. That was the packet 3. He dropped off everything September 23 and by September he revieved packet 4 which is the interview letter, it has the date of the interview and time. So, his interview is scheduled for Wednesday October 15............good luck and have a bless Sunday!

Thanks Godisawesome, I have been following your case - I am praying and looking forward to see how your interview goes. With that said, I sent all this stuff already (minus the proof of relationship) which we had send to USCIS, not NVC and the medical report. I thought that we had to wait for the interview before getting the medical report done? Can we do it now?

The proof of our relationship, I am making a folder for him to take to interview, I guess they are going to ask for all that before the interview.

Did the embassy contact you by email after they received your case or did they contact your husband?
