@Lotetaru I’m at the infopass office now. Without a receipt number they are unable to do anything. So if you can’t get a receipt number over the phone, coming here will just be a waste of $16 for parking.
Can they not find you with your A number from your Green card - thats how they found me yesterday (on the telephone)
-
Just to confirm, check cashed
Good luck guys !
-
Someone must know where they are, they got signed for
I'm sure the liability and ownership transfers to them as soon as they confirm receipt with a signature
-
oh sheesh tomstan, good luck
-
Just checked my status on the automated telephone line with my receipt number I got issued verbally yesterday, it says we have processed your bio-metrics fee and have sent form i-797 Notice of Action, I guess this is my extension letter
Awaiting to see if the check has been cashed, I presume it has

EST ? Its approaching 10am

NOW !!
Tell them its been over a month and nothing yet, thats what I did

Check cashed today after almost a month after reaching VSC. Seems like VSC check handler came back from vacation.
First time to look forward to check getting cashed

Will do. So glad you're all set.

That’s been my status the entire time since I received the NOA so I don’t know. I’m wondering if something will show up once they schedule the biometrics appt. With uscis everything is a guessing game, isn’t it?
Yeah thats what makes it errrm, fun

Thank you so much. I am still at work and cannot call, I really wish I could.... I hope they will still be picking up later today at 4 pm.
In the past I used to call first thing in the morning or lunchtime - maybe thats something you can do and schedule the call back - which takes 5 minutes when they do ring you.

The NOA/extension letter does show the case number. Received ours a few weeks ago. Now when I check the case status it says “At this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case.” So I don’t know what’s up with that, but the NOA does have a case number.
I see that when I check, but I thought it was due to mine being newly in the process - maybe they are experiencing issues ?
-
Oh just added my case number to my account showing as last updated :
05/07/2018
Yesterday
Maybe thats the day they entered it on the system, hence the case number

Perhaps they allocate a case number to anyone who calls? What did you tell them so they would allow you to speak to tier 2?
I called last week and they said as of then there was nothing they could help me with. Today, I said Its been 30 days, (its 30 days on Thursday), I have not received any notification and the check has not been cashed, he immediately said I need to transfer you to tier 2, transferred me and I got the hold or request a call back - I went for the call back. Case number is, I probably said incorrectly is the receipt number. 3 letters (first 3 are the service center) then 10 numbers.
"The receipt number is a unique 13-character identifier that USCIS provides for each application or petition it receives. The agency uses it to identify and track its cases.
The receipt number consists of three letters-for example, EAC, WAC, LIN, SRC, NBC, MSC or IOE-and 10 numbers. You can find it on notices of action USCIS has sent you."Mine starts EAC for Vermont

Just a thought, maybe I'm wrong, but I thought we didn't get our case number until the bio metrics letter, the NOA doesn't show it. Anyway its a case number (hoping its not an RFE)

Good to hear, at last! What is the best number to reach Tier 2 please?
Its the standard number, you have to be transferred 800-375-5283, then hold or get a call back
-
I called USCIS earlier, got transferred to tier 2, I had to arrange a call back it was 180 minute hold time. They just called back, asked a few security questions. They can see it was received on the 13th April, she stated I should receive my NOA in the next few days, I said the check hasn't been cashed, she says its in process. Gave me my file number - EAC then 10 numbers - so I can check the status online, as of now its showing nothing But I feel this is a positive step forward and within a few days (hopefully before the weekend) I'll have my NOA in hand so I can renew my driving license and be worry free for the short term
Lets hope everyone else has positive news soon
