    Sherry and Niall,

Congrats!!! Very very happy to hear the great news about the visa!! Looking forward to meeting up whenever Niall gets to the US. I'm in New Hampshire on a business trip til Friday then I'm back in Charlotte for a day then off to Ireland for a week then have friends visiting....busy, busy, busy but let me know when Niall is settled and we'll organize something.

Thanks!!! I am sooo excited, and relieved and soooo many more emotions that it all feels unreal.

Niall wont be coming home till about mid-July, he is filming in Dublin at the moment and wont wrap till then, but as soon as he does, he is hopping his happy bum on the first flight out. When he is home and rested we will deffo give you a shout.

Rhiannon, welcome to the board! It can be a bit of a pain going thru this but it is nice to meet other couples with similar backgrounds etc. that are going thru or have been thru this. Good luck with everything and feel free to message/email with any questions. Good luck and God bless on your journey!!!

  2. Hi everyone! Just popping in to tell our news...... We got the VISA!!!!!! Niall went to the Embassy at the appointed time (1:00) said it was nothing like what he expected. The interveiw was over and done with before he knew it. He said they only asked one question about our marriage and that was "Has your wife ever been to Ireland?" He answered yes and that was that. He said there wasnt much else to tell as they didnt ask alot, just processed him thru. All in all the time he spent at the embassy was about 2 1/2 hours. The first person to talk with him was Irish, and he did say that she wasn't very pleasant. Then someone else came to him and took over. Hope everyone is well and good luck to those still in the process.

  3. Future American,

Your wife should fill out an I-864 and as a join sponsor, your father in law should fill one out as well. The I-864A is for those who are going to use a house hold members income/assets along with thier income/assets to meet the required income guidelines. A joint sponsor and a sponsor have to fill out the I-864 form.

Dont forget that when sending in these forms to NVC your father in law must include proof of US citizenship by sending his birth cert or bigraphical pages of passport etc.

On the second question, it shouldnt be an issue. I have not had my name changed on my passport, ID etc. and have not had any problems with NVC.

Good luck on your journey and I hope it goes quickly and smoothly for you.

  4. Kyle,

It should only take about 4 weeks once they have entered it into the system. The automated system says longer to cover any kind of delays on thier part. I got an RFE and it was completed in 4 weeks. I know its frustrating and seems like ages (it did to me) but it will pass soon and you will have your completion. Good luck and we are praying for a speedy completion for you.

  5. I would call the NVC, sometimes it is a bit difficult to get through to them but I find that the best time for me to ring them is at 7:30 am when they first open. I am sure that is a bit early for you, but I generally dont have to wait too long on hold. If it says to call back at another time, call right back and you should be able to get through. Oh and about 11:00am time frame isnt too bad either, opt to speak to a live operator and they can help you.

Remember to have your case number and your spouse's DOB ready for the operator.

Good luck, I hope you hear something soon!

  6. Thanks Kinsey, I have seen a few DHL packages for London over the past few days, 1 for sure. I have read that they try to bundle several out together, but checking on it, I havent seen any for Ireland since the 13. I am hoping that it was due to the bad weather that they have had, and will go out soon. I would call the embassy and ask them if they have your case.

brnidokiegurl, K visas generally dont stay at NVC for very long. If the case is all in order (by thier standards) and no name hits, then they ship it right out. Our K-3 wasnt there for very long when they shipped it. We decided to go the CR1 route though and cancelled the K-3.

Good luck and GOD bless, hope your sent out quickly!!

  7. We received an RFE for IMBRA and I posed the same question to USCIS and was told that all processing on the case was halted until the RFE was received back at USCIS. Once the information they are looking for is returned, then your processing will resume again. There should be no "moving to the back of the line". But then again that was IMBRA and they may have taken that situation differently as there were sooooo many people affected by it. I would call and ask someone, and also ask them to confirm thier response with a supervisor. Good luck and I hope you aren't delayed for very long.

  8. Hi everyone, I know that people have asked questions about DHL tracking before, but I havent been able to find any info regarding this. The NVC says they have forwarded my case to the embassy as of 2/13. When I checked DHL there is no sign of any packages being shipped to Dublin. When they say that they are forwarding a case, do they typically say that are forwarding the case before they ship it? I know that they are going thru some severe storms at the moment, so I am thinking that maybe I will need to allow time for them to "clear" up some weatherwise. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Good luck to everyone and GOD bless!

  9. Thank you all so much! I am so grateful to everyone here and all the support and help we received from VJ. This forum has helped us with the process so much as well as help me keep my sanity. Florida Photo, I was following your case as we were in the same timeframe for completion. It was such a relief to see you get completed, it gave us hope that ours would come soon. I hope you get your interveiw soon and we will be praying for you. Rizthomson, good luck with your interview, I am sure it will go great and we will be praying for you as well as all VJer's in the process. Last but not least, Riblet, you have been so kind and helpful to all on VJ that post etc. Good luck with your process, I cant wait to see your case completed, our payers are with you!

Thanks again to everyone, you have all been wonderful!........off to watch Arsenal play!!!!!!!:dance:

  10. Josh,

Congrats on the job! I am sure you will make the right decision. Sounds like you had a great time on your trip. Florida does have some great places to visit. We loved St. Augustine as well. We didnt make it to the Keys tho, sounds like fun! Let us know what you decide on the job.

Our case was completed at NVC yesterday, finally, so we are hoping to hear some good news concerning an interview soon. Hopefully it wont take too long for NVC to ship our files. I am going to ring the Embassy to see if we can request an early interview date as Niall is already prepared. Medical, police cert. etc, have all been done as we were going to go the K-3 route. So we will see what happens.

Hope all is going well for everyone! Take care!

  11. Hi everyone, I rang NVC and was told yesterday at 1:00 pm that the case was still under review and to try back next week. I couldnt take the waiting and did my daily ritual of calling the automated system this afternoon. The automated system says that our case was completed on 2/9/07 and will be forwarded to the embassy! YAYYYY!!! Those were the sweetest words ever. Seems like they are on a roll with so many recent completion/approval and Visa's being granted. Good luck to those that have upcoming interviews, and those that are waiting to hear info on your case's, we will be praying for everyone!!! Good luck and GOD Bless!
