  1. I finally heard back from my senator:

Thank you for contacting me about the recent increase in illegal border crossings. I appreciate hearing from you.

As you know, the southern border of the United States has recently seen a sharp increase in illegal crossings, specifically by unaccompanied minors. Like you, I am deeply disturbed by these illegal crossings. This is not only a law enforcement problem, it is also a humanitarian problem. Many of these young people face terrible dangers trying to cross.

Unfortunately, this situation could have been avoided. President Obama announced that his administration will not deport minors crossing the border illegally, inviting the current wave of illegal crossings. Please be assured that, as my staff and I continue to monitor this situation, I will keep your thoughts in mind.

Thank you again for your correspondence. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future if I can be of assistance.

    Sincerely,

lol, he didn't even read the letter and replied back based on subject line "immigration"

  2. We just got approved! :dancing:

    NOA1: January 24th

    NOA2: July 24th

so it took exactly 6 months for us to get approval, we did contact a senator of Maine about 3 weeks ago but we dont think that played any part in helping our petition along (who knows?)

hang in there guys i was really beginning to lose hope and then so unexpectedly there was the email! and for the record my fiance (the petitioner) got a text but no email however i got the email as i signed up seperately for the updates on the website.

    praying for more approvals asap!

Congrats with a little bit of jealousy :D Our NOA1 is January 24th too..

In other news, I found a case number for someone with NOA1 dated December 30th in another forum, and I added the case number to the mobile phone app that I have to follow their case out of curiosity. I just got a RFE notification for them at 9:30pm. It shows that they are working, and working late. I know RFE is not very good, but at least they are working on cases.

  3. Hey Guys. Finally got 5 minutes to put up my checklist. Here is a list of stuff you should be gathering while you wait for your NOA2 or you have your NOA2

    You (US Citizen):

-134 form(s) : multiple if you need more than 1 supporter

-3 years of taxes from all supporters

-job letters and 2 most recent paystubs

-credit card bills (2 years) proving all the stuff you bought while abroad

-photos of your credit card to prove the credit card bill is yours

    -marriage reservation papers (booking receipts)

-affidavites from family and friends of your relationship

-phone bills proving you paid monthly for international service

-3 passport copies and copies of all visa stamps

    -flight tickets

    -original I-129F packet

    -Pictures together

    -Print of chats/skype interactions

-copies of your NOA1 and NOA2

    Your Fiance (immigrant)

    -3 Passport copies

-birth certificate original and 3 copies

    -5 2x2 passport photos

    -engagement ring (her)

    -K1 visa fee

----your fiance will need to gather other documents, but it depends on your country. Since my fiance is in india, I had her gather more information

I also included a pic of how big the files were. The weight was exactly 13.8 lbs.

Hey thanks for sharing this. I have few questiosn though:

1- I don't have a marriage reservation yet. We want to plan together, is that mandatory?

2- International Phone bills? Honestly I don't use phone line, I used Viber, Skype, etc.

3- We don't have our boarding passes, just email confirmation of flights and reservation paper by an agency is all we have, do you think that's going to be an issue?

4- Engagement ring? just a picture right?

It made me a bit nervers :/

  4. What states? Have you followed up with them? Did you send in a authorization waiver signed giving them the ability to access your case with USCIS?

You cant just send things in and then hope they get back to you, have to stay on top of them. Call them back, email them. Make them understand how bad you want this and let them know that you are a voter which gives the senators incentive to help you out.

Philadelphia, PA. and I didn't send authorization waive. I just sent emails/letters asking them to help, and I was expecting them to reply back and ask for authorization form if they can help. I thought that's how it goes. But you are right, I should call their office and follow up that way. Thanks.

  5. Certain areas are still under expedite status. Will be for a while probably too.

Just hang in there guys, i know how hard it is. If you havent written your senators yet, then i suggest doing so. If you are outside your wait time then they will definitely look into your case for you.

I contacted 2 senators, 3 congressman, bunch of representative, no one even bothered to reply back, I think they see the subjecl line that says Regarding Immigration and they just ignore them lol. What an awesome system we have.

  6. "I spoke to the Texas Service center, your case was given to an officer on the 16th, I will check back on the 25th. Have a good weekend."

my fiance got this reply from congressman! I really really hope not much waiting is left... Next Thursday we're reaching 6 months mark.

We have same exact timeline, hopefully same thing applies to me :) But I didn't get any feedback from my senators. Good luck!

  7. Try Senator Toomey or Senator Casey. I contacted both of them about the discrepancy. Toomey's office replied within a few days, but weren't all that helpful, though they may be moreso with you because you're past 5 months (I was writing to them to make them aware of the situation) I got a response back from Casey about his stance on immigration and it didn't have anything to do with what I wrote. However, Toomey's office lady was insistent that Vermont still processes I-129F's and that California is taking 5 months, which is BS, she obviously didn't try.

Regardless, check out those two and if you have any luck, let me know? Because I'm hitting 3 months next week and I will be doing EVERYTHING I can as soon as mid september gets here…and if they help you, I'd really like to know.

    Good luck!

Awesome thanks. I used a government website that shows you your representatives, and I found the people I mentioned in my post. Will deferential send mails to Sen. Toomey and Sen. Casey and will keep you posted.

    Cheers,

  8. Thanks, TheFoxxy! Excellent points. I think we should email the director all the service centers, Leon Rodriguez. The TSC director may ignore us as she may already know of the lag, but Rodriguez was just made director of USCIS. Thus, he likely does NOT know about the lag and more so, as a "new and fresh" face to USCIS, he may want to do something when he learns of it (much like Adam Silver, the NBA commish.).

We should quote the statistics and show direct links to the USCIS websites. We should mention that although we are a minority, this lag needs to be improved. And as TheFoxxy mentioned, we need numbers! We need 100 or more people to do this. We can create a template letter and then everyone who can send it should.

Also, FoxNews has a link to break a story - http://help.foxnews.com/entries/500736-Where-can-I-send-story-questions-corrections-or-news-tips-

Yes that's a very good point, but her email is not listed, and I don't think it's something we can find for obvious privacy reasosns. I am just sending an email to tsc.ncscfollowup@dhs.gov. This is the email address for TSC, let's mass email them so they hear our voices. That's all we've got for now. Also, it wouldn't hurt tweeting the director, would it? :) maybe he tries to put some new policies in place to show who's the new boss hahaa

  9. Figure out who to email, the director of all the service centers or the director of TSC. Write an informative letter stating that there should be more of a balance between centers. Provide them the address to this site showing the multiple threads of concern and anger about the wait times.

Everyone has to do this together it cant just be a few people. Power in #s for this deal. I will write a letter as well, let me know what you guys figure out.

What's his/her email? Couldn't find it on the site.

  10. I've seen on another post that that is not the case. They actually have almost the same amount of petitions incoming, but TSC is just slower.

I would gladly do that if that would help, but I'm sure the head of TSC already knows what's going on, and I'm sure lots of people are calling TSC to complain all the time :/ I feel like we need to get in touch with somebody higher than them in terms of status.

Have you sent one yet? If so, what did you write? I'm terrible at talking to important people

Not yet, I just finished sending an email to CNN. I'll email tsc.ncscfollowup@dhs.gov next, and then tweet to director of USCIS. It can be a 100 character tweet, something like "processing time between CSC and TSC is outrages and it's affecting our lives @OCRLeon #USCIS #immigration"
