  1. My interview was today :) it took forever or so it seemed sitting bored and nervous total time of 2 and a half hours .

The officer was a nice lady asked me simple questions like where my spouse and I met and when we got married etc. I took five minutes or less . Then she congratulated me and that's it

    Hey... this is wonderful... Congrats!

Did your status change to issued already?

    Hi everyone

Sitting at Sydney airport waiting for flight back home so thought I would post with the past 24 hours news.

After receiving email from Consulate last Wednesday saying they had rescheduled interview but giving me my current date of 23rd December I didn't hear back from the until 8.30 am on Monday, yesterday. Guess when the interview was. 10.45 am today. I flew into action. Didn't go to work, booked flights, hotels, babysitters and ran to Post Office to get my 3kgs Express envelope. Two hours later I was at the airport.

Hotel in Sydney CBD upgraded me to a penthouse apartment and after a sleepless night I was at the Consulate by 10.15 am.

Didn't really have to e to get nervous. It all went so quickly. End result

    APPROVED!!!!!

On my way home now to my children.

Will catch up on everybody's posts tomorrow.

    Love

    Xxxxx

Again.... Really thrilled to hear of your quick, though frantic, conclusion.

  2. That's so wonderful to read! Glad you guys are almost all settled in now :star: And sounds like you overcame the suitcase trauma pretty quickly :D

Going through multiple rounds of P90X really paid off that day. It was more traumatic to the suitcases themselves. One of them sadly kicked the bucket that day, but only after it made it valiantly home.

I highly recommend exercising while waiting, friends, to prepare for the sudden physical activities needed for moving and relocating logistics.

  3. Hello Mobar,

how's life in U.S and how's the family? I pray and hope i hear good news soon.

Hey EOC... Thanks for asking. It will be a month on Saturday since we arrived, but it feels a lot longer with all that transpired since. Purse is certainly a lot lighter. Kids are really enjoying their schools. My 11-year old who never touched a violin before we came can now play basic tunes and she just loves it. School was really kind to her giving her free private lessons to catch up with her peers.

We just got our GCs earlier this week but no SS cards. DMV is backed up so we won't take our driving tests till Dec 8.

All in all, we're having a blast so far.

  4. They gave me a contact sheet which requires the contact details of a friend, a neighbor and a relative. Which was sent to them November 6th but yesterday the embassy claim they don't have it in my file. I cried when i got that response from the embassy. 2weeks wasted for nothing.

Same thing happened to me. The hand delivered document they requested was ignored/lost for two weeks until I emailed a copy. They acted on that within a couple of days.

  5. Flew to Melbourne this morning for Medical. Was very nervous and didn't sleep well.

All went smoothly. First went with a Nurse to take stats. Did eye test, drew blood, blood pressure, had to pee in a glass to check for diabetes. Height and weight. Then sent back to waiting area.

Ten minutes later called into Doctors office. She was lovely. Looked me all over plus eyes, nose, ears and throat. Had me jumping up and down on one leg - not sure why - but I guess I had good balance. Didn't have to have any vaccinations, they were all good.

Paid the $518.00, left the office and took children for Mexican food.

Then onto another part of town for the chest x-ray. Took five minutes then back to airport and we are now home.

They are going to courier the results to me on Monday.

What wonderful news to see my file is now Ready at Sydney. Am off to write my email and try for an earlier interview date.

    Xx

Try now and again after they get your medical results. They're usually more accommodating when they know they have all documents in.

    CASE COMPLETE!!!!!

Called NVC & they confirmed we got case complete as of Nov. 18th (No interview scheduled yet). I checked last night like 11pm PST and status online still said PAID. But this morning around 4am status said N/A.

Thank you to VJ community for all your support and advise. Thank you Saylin for taking the time to update and have your wiki available for everyone going thru this!

Good luck for everyone else waiting for CC....will continue to pray for everyone!!

SOLOENTA...........I want to see your CC ASAP!!!!!!

AOS & IV Scan Date: Sep-18-14

    Police Check Scan Date: Oct-07-14

Wonderful! They seem to be moving on well into October. Toughest wait is over... now the lesser challenges, but do stay on top of things all the way through.

  6. so hubby had his second interview this morning as the first one the systems were down at the embassy. We were denied as his passport doesn't have his middle name on it. How is that his fault. he has never had a passport before so how would he know that it had to have that. shouldn't whoever process the passport applications make sure its on there. Please everyone if your spouse/fiancé is immigrating to the USA make sure their passport has their full legal name on it.

It must be country specific. My passport had only my middle initial and was never an issue anywhere.

Are you sure it was a denial, and not an AP pending getting a new conforming passport? Either way, your husband should have received a letter from the CO explaining the decision taken.

  7. Hi Austin,

i would like to ask you something regarding the interview.

did you have to sign any aditional document (or they just took your fingerprint)? did you keep a copy of it when you finished your interview?

In my case, I signed digitally (with a fingerprint) during my formal interview. This is different from the fingerprinting that preceeded the interview. And no, I was not given a copy, though I believe I could still download my DS-260 from ceac.

PS. For those who like to gauge post-POE timelines, our GCs (except for my youngest) were produced on Nov 14th and I should have them at my mailbox later today according to the USPS tracker. Requested SS cards never arrived. We'll probably drop by the SS office sometime this week. POE was Oct 22nd.

  8. I'm back from Montreal! My interview was on Monday, but I spent the next two days sightseeing the city. :content:

I now have my laptop computer with me so I just wrote my Consulate Review (Interview Experience)!

It's at the end of my timeline page. http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=166483

I'm now waiting for my passport back with the visa. :star: I hope I get it tomorrow! Fingers crossed!

Four hours at the Consulate!! That's more than I did. At least most of it was spent on yoga, not jousting with a clueless and too-pleased-with-himself CO.

Congrats on a successful conclusion to this over-long journey.

  9. Guys!! I m in absolute and complete shock!!! Got our interview date and I still can't believe It!! Dec 8!!!!! I m Sooo happy and excited. I wasn't expecting anything before 20th dec!!! Now if inshAllah interview goes well I can spend New Years with husband. V excited :)))) our cc was nov 4th!

That's the ticket. Now get a move on... three weeks can slip by you in no time if you're not on top of things. Best of luck at the interview.

  10. Just called NVC. We have an interview date of 23rd December.

Now, I wonder how long it will take them to issue the Visa and get it to us. Mmmmmm. Am super excited. Once they get my file I might email and see if I can bring it forward although I am sure they won't. Still, worth a try.

    Guess they are still scheduling.

dwheels, can you add me to the spreadsheet please?

Well... you made the December cut after all. I hope your husband could afford the time and expense to join you for the interview, Christmas and closing shop logistics.

  11. Just checking the threads and saw that there is a mystery concerning my situation with the expedite refusal. Yal are both right Samreen and Solenta.

My mother is suffering from several illnesses and heart is failing . She has to take a drug that is actually toxic to the human body to keep her heart functioning . Her heart stops in her sleep and now during the day...her defibrillator is working over time to keep her alive .Shes had several strokes and can not speak now or walk unaided .As of yesterday she is now bedridden and her oxygen level will not stay up .She has drug induced Parkinson syndrome now because of the toxic Amiodarone medication. Her mind is going and she can pass at any time.

I have my own health concerns...heart and mobility related due to a botched knee replacement that resulted in Pulmonary Embolisms. I ended up in the hospital by myself stateside last June and had to come back to the Netherlands straight from the hospital to be with my husband.Ten hour flights are high risk for me and still I have done it .I used to carry emergency blood thinner shots with me on flights but cant get them here in Holland .

Why can I not qualify for expedite after I sent in documents proving my request??? I see people get expedite for less...I am happy for them but becoming bitter and scared to death my mom will pass before I get there. I want to spend some time with her while she still knows who I am :crying:

My dad has grand mal epilepsy and is nearly blind..yeah this was all in my request to expedite...no one cares.

Its hopeless to keep trying for expedite because they dont seem to care...so much stress every freaking day just trying to get through it all.

    Sorry for the huge vent...

I'm coming late to this conversation, so this might've been covered already. It's the Consulate at the Netherlands that decided on your expedite request, not NVC. Since you're there now, you might want to work on them directly and see what you get. I could be wrong, but I think any USC has the right to request a consular appointment and raise whatever issue they want in person. During my interview, I witnessed several USC's discussing trivial matters with the embassy staff that could've been settled over the phone or via email.

My best wishes all around on both visa and health fronts.

  12. Yes MoBar we both finally got a cc. But sadly looks like we both won't be getting dec interview. There isn't any second round of scheduling for dec as far as I heard. But I guess we still have hopes for next weeks! I m glad ur life is back on track!! But yup adjustment is gonna be a big problem for all us I think

Well, I hope there will be more December scheduling still... experience though tells me that the Season's Spirit will find NVC a hard nut to crack. Was really pleased to see your name on that interview spreadsheet yesterday.

Adjusting after POE is time consuming, physically draining, confusing at times, and expensive. Yet, I would rather go through it 10 times over than wait for a CC again. Folks... don't ever let that LPR status lapse on you. Get naturalized if you must, just for this reason.

Now that Republicans are in control, I'm beginning to hear of speculations that immigration reform easement might shift from illegal immigrants to family-based hardships... as it should.

  13. MOBAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR so happy to see you post we all missed you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hehehe I think your kids must be taking bets how long it will take you to fall asleep ;) hahaha   !

We have had some great news and I'll let her tell you. And we have had some bad but I don't think the good has outweighed the bad at all I'm sad to say. :(t5063.gif

I hope and pray your right my friend, time will tell. Sorry I want to be really positive but I fail a lot. t5063.gif

Thank you my dear Soloenta. I'm really glad I have the time again to hold vigil with you.

Msc13 emailed me her CC news and I just saw Samreen's as well. Anyone else I missed?

I had a cat-nap today so I'm ready for the kids this evening.

  14. Welcome back!!! Guess the time zone difference has you falling asleep so early  even If not, jet lag can be next in this blame game ;)

Hope the wife and kids are adjusting with ease, as well as yourself!

Thank you my friend. Jet lag, change of weather, trying to keep track of a dozen things at any given time... the blame game is at full swing. My wife lost 5 lb during the first week alone.

  15. Woooow good to hear from you Mobar the genius, your absence is greatly felt. How's the family doing, i guess you all are doing great.

****Please don't forget to send me your POE review as promised ****

    EOC

Oh.. thank you dear... I really missed all my friends here. The family are doing great and the kids are adjusting greatly to the house and school, in spite of two bear sightings, one at our driveway and another at the school's playground. Only in Boulder.

Thank you for the reminder re: POE review. I just posted it at the appropriate VJ portal and sent you a copy.

  16. [...] and on 20th September we boarded the flight, me looking like a whale, complete with a toddler, stroller, car seat, mobile cot and goodness knows what else and flew into LAX. Then the fun began. Four hours of waiting to be processed, our son was WAY over it by this time and so was my husband. Still, life carried on. Eight weeks later my beautiful little girl was born in The Woodlands, Texas.

I'm amazed that being 7-months pregnant and having a toddler in tow didn't push you to the front of the queue and accelerate your processing! No wonder your hubby was riled.

  17. Well Moh you asked for a scary story:

    [...]

Still, I often sit and reflect how it has gone from six weeks to 15 months, in my case, to get a little stamp in my passport and have my family together.

From 6 to 60 weeks... a factor of 10 in 14 years. That's 19% annualized increase per annum. If only my investments could match this rate!!!!

Thanks for sharing dear. Keeps things in perspective.

  18. I am 29th Aug and waiting. Come on NVC. Hardly slept last night.

Considering how much NVC is dragging its feet with your case, you're doing a great job maintaining your composure so far.

While you're waiting for your impending cc this week, how about throwing a log on the campfire and regaling us with the good old days during your first visa journey? I've heard wild stories that once upon a time NVC was actually meeting its contractual commitments in processing cases from start to finish in under two weeks!!! :wow:

Or just scare the pants off of the uninitiated VJ newbies with what's coming their way... 'Tis the season to be scary...

  19. I for one will miss you but will understand that it's just not the way it used to be. Many have said they would hang around but haven't and I don't blame them one bit.

Exactly what happened to me and I just find it way to convenient. But then no wonder nothing is reviewed they are never at their desk. (L)

Thank you for understanding my dear friend. It will take sometime before my system is free of VJ, though. I think I've checked ceac at least half a dozen times after I collected my visa packets, LOL.

Funny thing, when I told my co-researcher at CU-Boulder that I finally got the visa and will arrive by Wednesday, she said: "Wonderful news!! Can we meet on Tuesday at 1:00. I'll have all the grad students present progress reports to you." There Is a desperate team for some coaching.

Hi guys, I've been out of this thread and the whole visa issue because my dad suffered a heart attack last sat and since then my mind and time is to him and my mom. God's plan is bigger than ours and now I see why He put me here a little bit more: my mom needs me, my dad needs me, and that's the place I have to be right now. I hope you all figure one day the reason why Faith kept you a little longer away from your loved ones, and appreciate that this happened. I just don't know what I'd do if something like that happened to my dad with me in the US!

So, I'm sending all my love and positive vibrations to all of you. Congrats to the CCs, patience to the ones waiting. The RIGHT time is coming soon!

They are our special guests in this world until the Lord calls them (or us) to His side. Speaking from experience, I'm really glad you were there for your parents. They tend to get emotionally vulnerable when they're hit hard at an advanced age. Medical procedures for such cases are highly advanced nowadays, so hopefully he'll be up and about in no time.

  20. Awwww poor babies, so sorry they are so sad but it's to be expected. The good thing is they will adjust and find new friends and can stay in touch with the ones they leave behind. Thank God for the internet and Skype. :) Two more days wow how exciting. :) I know once in the USA you wont have a lot of time but please don't forget us and come buy every once in a while. (F)(L)(F)

Unfortunately, this visa journey has put a real dent in my research plans. Have to work extra hard to make up for lost time. Still, I won't be at ease until my VJ buddies are out of the woods.

  21. LOL...hubby had his medical today...no dropped drawers for him!! He did get 3 jabs though....

Maybe he was spared for the same reason here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/512497-october-2014-interviews/?p=7227670

Having said that, I know some other countries perform much more invasive exams. I'm pretty sure there is a country that does the full gyno thing. I wouldn't have stood for that sort of nonsense.

Nothing more invasive than a DNA test for your child, which they do in Africa at least.

But it's the British doing the medical no?    I always knew the cold messed people up hahahahahaha J/K ;)

Mad dogs and Englishmen lose it when it's not hot enough.

  22. Not sure what this means my aos fee went from paid to n/a now it's back to paid?. we got the interview letter though. Could it mean our file is on it's way to embassy?

It's normal... don't worry about it. Mine changed back the day the interview was scheduled.

You should move over to the interviews thread, by the way: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/516586-november-2014-interviews/page-92 .
