so your husband was married to a U.S. citizen after having your children?
Sounds like it.
-
Do you know any medical insurance company in the US that will allow you to purchase insurance after you get pregnant and cover the pregnancy and the birth?
if you do please share because it is HUGE if that exists.
All. Pre-existing condition clause has been eliminated via health reform.

People change when they want to. She can't change him. He can change and if he wants he will look for help.
Why would he change? He hit her and got away with it. No consequences mean no need to change.

You did your best to convince the government your relationship was true. It's not it responsibility to clear up your mess.

I am a lawyer, but not in Washington, so I can't give you any official legal advice as I'm not familiar with Washington law. But what I can tell you is that some state courts use the affidavit of support to support a finding of alimony when you file for divorce. I would look into it. Get a copy of the document signed by him - the official document. Take it when you go see a lawyer. But generally, alimony is only granted upon a divorce being completed. Failure to provide support is usually a ground to get a divorce.
It seems to me that she is trying to get money out of him. Just a personal opinion. It seems that the financial aspect is what bothers her the most. And on that side note, 5 dollars for a bar of soap? Irish Sping is 5 dollars at Walmart and it has 10 bars in it.

You have been married for a year, chances of alimony are very slim. You are every young and capable to work, so you can start looking for employment as soon as you leave your current situation. Use craigslist to see if anyone needs a baby sitter or a pet sitter. Sometimes, people would give out bikes for free as well.
40 minute walk is not that much of a walk, honestly, but a bike could help you go those 2-3 miles much faster. I used to commute to one of my jobs by bike, and that was the distance I rode every night.

But with a K3 she will still have to apply for a green card, no? That was the big disadvantage of K3 over other spousal visas.
-
I disagree with you all. I don't think there should be an expectation for anyone to be a step-parent. If I had children and re-married, I would not want my husband to be more than a friendly adult figure in my children's lives.

Can your family help you?

I would chose a Dutch last name, so I could claim New Amsterdam Roots.
Or O'Malley, like Thomas O'Malley, the Alley Cat.

2 marriages so closely spaced that both carry immigration benefits are extremely suspicious. At least the first wife was from a low fraud country.
-
I don't quite get this statement. And yes. It does matter. An honest opinion of someone knowledgeable in this type of situation is welcome.
Pay the visa fee to play the "will I or won't I get the visa" game.
-
You have to go home. Even with a green card you may not be able to stay if you don't have enough proof of a bona fide marriage.
-
-
If she doesn't have a green card, how does she think she can petition for someone else?
-
It really depends on how high risk the country is.

Too many friends - and always coming first.

Your wife should also take her money to another bank.

The article does make mention of this.
" Well, many men and women alike have a certain level of distrust in medical research due to incidents such as the Tuskegee Experiment or even the recent news claiming Planned Parenthood was started with the goal of aborting African American babies."
Planned Parenthood was part of what was called the Eugenics Society, which their main purpose was to rid society of people who were deemed "genetically inferior."
Well, they failed. I worked with 2 black women, one had 11 kids, the other one 7. Both were careful not to get too many hours in a paycheck, didn't wanna give up those cushy welfare checks.

Better tweak those positive discrimination policies!

Anybody can be played for a fool sometimes.
I agree. I just don't think it is fair to blame the government and expect it to solve your self made problems.
-
Funny how people complain the government doesn't protect them from fraudsters when they are the one who did their best to convince the government their relationship was real.

Congratulations to you i wish if i could have your courage to accept any job, You are right, if i want a job i have to be patient,
You must be 10 years younger than I. Don't be afraid of work, any work if that is what you want to do here. I didn't come to the US to stay home, so I didn't care what I worked (ok, I drew the line at janitor and professional butt wiper, but still).
Welcome notice received then INTERVIEW scheduled (merged threads)
in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas

Yes, I got called to an interview even with TWO potential waiver letters. And handed a RFE on the spot.
