Your application was very fast!!

Hey everyone,
I applied for US passport book on 12/3/2020 (routine service). Received an email on Friday 12/18/2020 that they received it and are reviewing it.
"currently processing in 10-12 weeks."

What was the questions?
The officer asked me these questions: 1# what do we call the first ten amendments to the constitution? 2# How many amendments does the constitution have? 3#Name one branch or part of the government? 4#How many US senators are there? 5# What is the name of the speaker of the house now? 6#Who lived in America before the Europeans arrived?

Hmmm...did you fill out the nature of your visit in the check-in kiosk by any chance? Maybe that's what she saw in the system.
I only selected "social security card" there was no option to update records or anything like that.

I filed online in may 2019 and had something similar after I submitted my online application.. I wasn't too worried about it. They go over your N-400 form with you on your interview day, any incorrect information you can change right there and then. I'm sure you will be fine 😊. Good luck in your process!

That’s kind of bizarre..if they can do that /know that why don’t they just set the system to automatically do the citizenship update rather than making us schlep in?!
Because they need to see the proof "US passport or certificate" 😅

How did the system know what you were going in for? Could you make an online appointment?
No, I didn't make an appointment. But she probably already pulled my SSN number in the system right before she called me to her window (my guess lol). She said good morning your here to update your records to US citizenship? It's been almost a month since I became an citizen. But it was smooth and easy for me.

I can't go to the DMV or the social security office b'coz I dont have my original documents. Not sure what is going on and what I should do. Can anyone guide please? Thanks
I went to the SSA office this morning and they didn't need my original certificate, I had it with me and she said it doesn't matter copy or original is fine. But this might be different per office or the person that is helping you.

Hi All,
Can anyone please tell me regarding update in social security after Naturalization .
Can I go to any SS office in US or does it have to be local office where you live.
Thanks!
I just went to the office close to my work (different county). I had no problems at all, she knew what I was coming for because it already showed up in the system. I had to show her my ID and certificate and make sure everything in the system was correct. Smooth and easy!

I'm pretty sure you can use any SSA office... I'm about to find out next week lol. I have to update my records, there is one close to where I work (other county). So I can give you an update if it worked or not 😊.

I came to the US in 2014 with a K1 visa, my AOS got approved in may 2015. In 2017 I applied for ROC this got approved in 2018..I was eligible to apply for citizenship during the process, however I waited. I applied in May 2019 and I will have my Oath ceremony tomorrow. You can also check my timeline. 😊 Good luck with the process!

How long do most people wait to be scheduled for the naturalisation ceremony? I had my interview on 13th December and still waiting to hear back since. I’ve been approved but no letter or update after that.
I think it depends on the office. I had my interview 2 days before yours and I got the date of the oath at the interview. My oath will be tomorrow.

I agree with the above. I made a mistake in the form also and had my interview few weeks ago, we went over the N-400 form and corrected my mistake. Nothing to me nervous about 😊. Good luck!

Just a curious question ?
Do they take away you GC at the interview for naturalization or is it at the oath ceremony ?
Thanks
It's at the oath ceremony. The notice says to bring all permanent resident cards (valid, expired), all reentry permits or refugee travel documents, or any EAD cards.

Hello,
I am working on preparing my wife's US Citizenship application and saw that now USCIS offers to submit application online as well as mail submission. Which is a preferred method? If you do online submission, how do you submit all evidence documents? (e.g. copy of green card, marriage certificate, spouse's naturalization certificate/passport, IRS transcripts etc)?
Thanks in advance!
I preferred online, I filed online in may 2019 had my interview on Dec 11 and my oath this upcoming Tuesday Dec 31. You can scan and upload all your documents in, you can review them later. All the letters they send you will be uploaded to your account and mailed to your home.
Good luck!

I did my ROC in 2017 - got approved in 2018. May 2019 I filed for citizenship under the 3 year rule. I followed the instructions and submitted taxes, photo's, car and health insurance as proof. I had my interview on Dec 11 and the officer didn't ask me for any documents to show, was approved on the spot and have my oath ceremony on Dec 31. They should have your whole visa process from the beginning 😂.

Montgomery, AL was showing waiting times over a year. I applied in May 2019 and had my interview on Dec 11 and have my oath ceremony on Dec 31, so total of 7 months.
Good luck to you all!

You need to file for ROC first, if you haven't done so already.
