  1. Just wanted to provide an update to the process at JFK as it was super quick and painless. I asked a CBP officer what to do upon entering the CBP area and he took her immediately to the room off to the side for processing. I went through the USC kiosk line and was then allowed to join her in the waiting room. They reviewed her paperwork, stamped her passport, we retrieved our luggage, and grabbed a cab in well under 30 min of landing.

  2. Well even though it's self service you still pass by the desk for CBP to look over your printout before you exit into the baggage area. However my guy gut instinct is we'll both be waiting in the foreign visitor line. Thanks everyone!

BTW I was secretly hoping after I completed the self service part they'd just wisk us into a side room, ask their questions and let us go on our way without having to wait in the other line. (Wishful thinking)

  3. Has anyone came through JFK as POE with their USC since JFK implemented the self serve kiosks (somewhat new) in the USC/LPR line? I read the JFK reviews but no one mentions this. There were several reviews about going through the line with your USC but none mentioning this detail. I don't know if she'll just stand there with me as the non-USC line doesn't have these kiosks or if she should also use one of them. My guess is the first. Thanks in advance!

  4. This is tricky. My friend was arrested for public urination. It didn't appear on his police record but he listed it anyway because he didn't want to make a mistake. In the end it caused all kinds of complications because he checked yes. The guy told him he should have just checked no since it wasn't on his police report (and it wasn't a felony) but since he had checked yes now they have to go through so many more procedures that delay the process. In the end it wasn't a problem, just a bump in the road along the way.

  5. They can ask for originals of anything you previously submitted. In our case they didn't ask for any original information or any additional evidence of the ongoing relationship but I, the USC, flew in and went with her to the interview which I think makes it a no brainer for them but we came prepared just in case. I think in our case there was nothing about our relationship that would be an obvious red flag. We're very close in age, both attractive individuals, and are both professionals... I think you know what I'm getting at here... some couples have a disparity in one or more of those categories.

  6. I flew to Warsaw to be with my fiancé during her interview which I think made the whole process better for everyone.

It's was a really painless process and everyone at the embassy was so friendly. I think it took a total of 2.5 hrs most of which was just spent waiting our turn between steps. The interview was very quick, the gentleman asking questions was very personable, and we picked up her visa the next day. My only real complaint is it plus be so much easier if the pickup location was the embassy and not like 5km away in an industrial park at a shipping agency (TNT).

  7. In Belarus, various agencies take all the available time slots at the Polish embassy and then sell them. Even if you go through an agency the wait was a month but if you have paid you fees to US Travel Docs and you have that receipt plus receipts for hotel, airfare, etc plus the I-134 you can just show up at the embassy without an appointment and wait in line -- it took my fiancé 2 days. The first day and a half someone waited in line for her and the second day she showed up to take their place. If you are not seen on one day before they close, you maintain your position the next day. Also I believe the required bank documents showing the Belarusian citizen had plenty of money to actually go Poland. I'll ask her how much they were looking for. Personally I thought all the requirements were crazy but it is what it is.

  8. OP/beneficiary is from Phillipines so it's entirely possible since they receive automatic expedite status due to the typhoon at the end of last year. One news site reported "More than 14 million people had their lives torn apart and more than five million lost their homes."

I've read some members think this practice isn't fair but personally, I fully support their applications jumping to the top of the stack considering the circumstances.

  9. 2 weeks to be entered into NVC systems after receiving NOA2 for us.

I'm not sure I'm reading the CEAC status messages correctly. I called NVC and got my case number and when I checked the status it said IN TRANSIT then switched to READY the next day.

Is NVC known to ship documents overnight due to expedited review or maybe they're sent electronically now? I haven't had a chance to contact the embassy because it was after hrs in Warsaw when I saw the status updated to READY.

  10. This was my response when TLC contacted me about Season 2:

    Thanks but no thanks.

My fiancé and I are both highly educated, successful professionals and we would never consider participating in such an invasive program that trivializes the nature of our relationship or the relationship of others merely due to locale for the sole promise of our 15 min of fame.

To be honest, I find TLC's 90 Day Fiancé to be on par with many other reality tv shows (admittedly not the worst offender) where participants are either chosen for their sketchy nature or scripted to be so in order to elicit drama for the purpose of ratings. Frankly, I really expected more out of TLC and am incredibly disappointed with this and several other series that I would consider "trash" tv.

  11. So I just got off the phone with a Tier 2 specialist about another question I had and while I was on the call I asked if I could get the supposed Alien Registration Number that had been changed on my account. The guy laughed and said if he had a $1 for every time he got that request... he said it's a bug that's been in the system for a long time (many years were his exact words) and that no number is assigned until you've gone through the entire process. He said if they ever managed to fix the bug, it would cut down on more than half the calls they get each day :D

  12. My SO wanted to do this too until I showed her information about the show. I'd highly recommend against this and most likely if you're a "normal" couple, you won't be chosen anyway -- the couple has to be highly suspect and sketchy. It's highly scripted with the purpose of getting ratings at the expense of the participants. It casts the participants in a bad light to elicit drama, suspicion, etc. It's actually very exploitative and on the verge of trash tv like the real housewives shows, jersey shore, and others.
