After 180 days, our K1 petition has been approved!!! I'm super ecstatic! Now, i'll have to wait until it's sent to my consulate... My fiancé is currently deployed... he will only be back late this year. How long is the K1 petition or NOA2 valid for? I do not have all the docs necessary (i.e. tax for 2014) since he left and he filed his taxes before he left for deployment... how much time do I have before I have to send all the docs ?

Philippine citizens have priority because of the typhoon.
It all depends where your petition will be sent to after you receive your NOA1. If you get the Texas Service Center, it could take up to 5-6 months. California Service Center is much quicker... some people got their NOA2 in less than 1 month...

Also as a fellow Canadian Just want the best for you... Are you from Montreal?

No one is asking no one to send money. They simply do not know the process as mentioned by others, most people don't know or understand immigration because they simply do not have to.
I think I clearly said 'They probably will' as in the future. This was just an assumption, but it's a possibility since there are so many scammers out there. Or maybe they simply do not know immigration procedures, like you said. As the person above mentioned, it's not up to you to figure it out, it's the employer. If he is really interested in hiring you, he should look into it. It is strange though that he quickly offered you a job with only a phone interview. Employers abroad usually look into a person's background before going through all the trouble... Sorry I just want you to be careful and not ruin your chances to be with your future hubby! The K1 route is safer.

I am still waiting since NOA1, February 18th. Hopefully we will get our NOA2 soon this month.

I am a February filer... about 5.5 months since NOA1. I haven't heard anything yet

Good evening,
looking at your timeline, your application was received a week after mine. I got the approval today, so your should be within the next couple of weeks.
I understand it is frustrating, but you are really close to get yours.
regards
Simon
I haven't received mine yet... maybe next week? But you should still expect to wait another month before your interview... because they need to send your case to your beneficiary's embassy (that's about 2 weeks) then interview date setting could be another 2 weeks to a month.
Hopefully by august ending, march filers should be getting approvals.
My question is why is filipinos getting a quick approval just a curiosity.
from my understanding, I think fast approval is based on the beneficiary country, who has ur petition application. Just my own random thoughts or finding reasons y noa2 was delayed
wasn't there a hurricane or typhoon there not long ago? they get priority because of that I think.

sounds like scam... they will probably ask you to send money and then you will not hear from them...
-
yeah I pretty much knew it would take longer than 5 months. That's just an estimation. All and all it should take max 9 months and you are in the country.

Been waiting for 5.5 months now... I don't think it will be approved until October in my opinion. and I am a February filer. :'(
-
wow that's crazy that they are still on December filers :S I've seen a couple of January filers get their NOA2 though
I am a February filer, so I guess I'll have to wait until late September/October.

I met my husband online on this silly website called hot or not in May 2010, he was deployed (Afghanistan) at time. We started talking just as friends but then realised we meant a lot more to each other than just friends, we met in LA on his leave (late Sep 2010) and spent a month together in his home town (Boise). He popped the question 2 days before we were set to fly back (me to Aus and him to Okinawa) and of cos I said yes!
We skyped everyday and even went to sleep together on skype, I went to visit him in Okinawa that Dec/Jan and we had so much fun, you really cherish those moments. In March 2011 he PCSed to Twentynine Palms and he managed to rent a house off base so I came to visit for 3 months in early April and we decided to elope a day before his birthday (our wedding certificate is stamped my birthday - we are week apart) and even adopted a puppy to keep him company while I was away. Ironically I was the one doing all the leaving and he was the one in the military! Ha. We continued this way till we finally decided to look into filing paperwork for me to join him by then it was Sep 2011, we really didn't know what to do. I came to visit in late Oct 2011 and he really started to look into it (he couldn't take me leaving again), we attended an immigration session on base in San Diego Nov 2011 and that really got the ball rolling. We filed AOS Dec 2011, everything went quite fast but our interview was delayed by a mix up with our old ASC and CSC after an address change. We were finally approved at our interview at Chula Vista July 2011 and by then I was 8 weeks pregnant with our daughter (she is now 17 MO and a handful).
My family adore him (they came to visit us in California several times and we even did a road trip together CA to ID via Vegas - it was crazy and awesome!) and he finally made the trip to Australia last Sep and met the rest of my family.
We have been married just over 3 years and been together a little over 4. I am thankful for everyday I get to wake up next to him and not have to worry when I will see him next. We filed ROC end of May 2014 and were approved July 23rd (2 weeks after my GC expired).?
We met almost the same way! Except we met on Facebook, and he was deployed in Afghanistan at the time He said I made him want to live everyday when he was there.

We met online on Facebook. He was in Afghanistan (deployment) and we just started talking like that. We eventually met in person in NYC and it was love at first sight! He is the best thing that's ever happened to me. I don't regret one day taking this chance even though many of my friends were afraid that he would be a creep. LOL
We got engaged after a year of long distance dating. After I finished college, we decided to apply for the K1 visa for me to move to the U.S. I am really excited to be with him for the rest of my life !
Not really any cultural differences. We're both Filipino, but I was raised in French Canada, so a few French expressions that he may not get, but he's learning
I used to be embarrassed when people would ask me how we met... but I got over it. We've been dating for almost 4 years now.

I don't think there would be a problem. I lost my birth certificate during the process and got a new certified copy and I was told that it would OK as long as it's from the government. Your passport is valid. I am actually going through the same situation as you. I am pretty sure my interview will be late 2014, and my passport will expire soon. I'll have to get it renewed soon and will show the new passport.

We filed our fiance visa March 3 2014..we received our first notification but thats it. They say the National average time is 5 months. We are filing out of Texas service center and my consulate is Montreal . Should I be worried of possible problems ?
Heyyy! Me too my consulate is in Montreal! We filed in February and still haven't received anything :'(... I don't think it has to do with problems, but because they are backlogged... too many requests coming in.
-
yeah it's a bit crazy... they shouldn't put 5 months as the time frame for the waiting time for TSC. More like 9 months... I don't want to be pessimistic but I would think they would put more people in that center since they receive so many requests.
I'm from Canada... we're not a high risk country for immigration fraud at all.
-
I don't think so. I think it's either Vancouver or Montreal. You should call to inquire where would be the interview.
-
it works now I tried! Thanks!

Today I wanted to go see our status for our I-129F petition and it says ''Case Status Retrieval Failed''. I've been using the same number since February and before it used to say Initial Review... now it says the above. What does this mean? Is there a problem on the website?
-
if u just gotten NOA1 it doesnt mean anything,it means u are in a procces of getting the NOA2,we got NOA1 but no alien reg num change, apparently sometimes u get it just before the NOA2.
Usually a week or so after you get the NOA1, you will see on the uscis site that they've assigned you an alien registration number. That's what happened to me. You do get it before NOA2, but doesn't necessarily mean your NOA2 is on the way very soon. My Alien Registration number was assigned on February 20th, and we are now June 7th... No updates yet for NOA2.

Me too!! I was thinking the same thing! I would like to know their experience

Do you think there's a possibility for them to extend it ? Would I have to talk to someone at the U.S. consulate about my situation ? My fiance is in the military and it's beyond our control that he was deployed for this long.
