  1. A few of you that are living state side can call CNN and place an anonymous news tip about TCS delay and they may pick up the lead and bring some help. Look what just happened at the VA once the news agencies got involved.

Are these US government employees being over worked or are they just under performing?

  2. (response to TOS violation removed)

It only takes one time to catch an STD and it's normal to worry about things in this process. I myself before I had my medical last year, went to the clinic and got a full STD test, chest x-ray and blood test to make sure I didn't have any underlying medical conditions that could surprise me at Knightsbridge. (additional response to TOS violations removed - VJ Moderation)

Hi, I am thinking about others who have a legit relationship and they want a US visa. What would happen if a 2 year blood tests clearance was placed on visa issue?? The original poster of this London discussion must have some idea what he/she has been doing with others to even think that they may have STD. Wish you the best,

    M

  3. The P-4 notification requests that my fiancé bring her resume to the visa interview. She heard from one source that the resume should be notarized. However, we both agree that notarizing your own resume or CV does not make sense. Can anyone confirm that there is no unusual notarization process that she needs for her resume?

    Thanks.

    Check this out.

  4. Hi, My Fiance and myself worked in Afghanistan for 3 years and we are compiling the documents needed for Visa interview. I made attempts to obtain a police certificate from AFG and dead ended. I have written a letter detailing my attempts at obtaining the police certificate and that it was unobtainable. I also mentioned that Interpol did a police check every 6 months when new AFG visas were issued. That is what We have to present.

The other police certificates will also be there. I hope that this will be enough.

  5. ALL LPRs and USCs must pay taxes on ALL worldwide income. Fortunately, there is an exemption for a certain amount per year earned while abroad if you qualify. Look for "foreign earned income exclusion" for the details.

Your income earned while in the us will not qualify, the income earned while abroad will probably be difficult to make qualify, but you'll need to take a look.

Even if the income qualifies, you may still be responsible for self employment tax.

You should consider hiring a tax preparer with experience in foreign income.

Hi, Go to the IRS web site and get forms 2555ez and 1040 there are also instructions for these forms. Pretty simple forms.

  6. if you have 'been together for 18 months'

whilst you are living in China,

then it makes a lot of sense (to me)

for you two to marry in china,

then you file an I-130 via the Direct Consular Filing Process (skipping USCIS stateside)

then once the I-130 is approved in Guangzhou, is ok to scamper off back to the USA and she chase after a CR-1 visa with Guangzhou.

Figure 2 weeks to get married, having to chase docs on you that the marriage registry will accept,

then another week to get the marriage book translated into a white book,

then you can file the I-130...

IMO, DCF with an interview in Guangzhou is superior to anything else you are thinking about.

  7. Hi, I am not an expert at all about this, but we are compiling documents for K-1 visa Just as you she is Chinese and if you read the FAQ and read again, and download the forms it all starts to make you understand that you need Birth certificates, and the rest of the document before you file the 129. Check and recheck--Proof of relationship, intent to marry letters are all available on this site and it will help you. Do not file till you have all documents.

Again, read what VJ has to pass along.

    **Moderator hat off**

The Embassy will not process your petition, a USCIS service center in the US will do that. If your fiancee holds legal residence in Cambodia, then she will be able to have her visa interview in Phnom Phen.

Hi and thanks for the input. My Fiance is headed back to China in a couple of weeks to obtain some necessary documentation for the 129 petition.

Do you know if China has such a document called "Permission to Marry" ? She was married before and her husband died. We know she needs death certificate with English translation but she thinks there is a permission to marry document. If such a document is needed do you know what office in ShenYang she would have to visit?

    Again, Thank you.

  9. You will be okay 2nd time around. I have been through that. But make sure you attend interview. They deny more people that don't attend interview at this Embassy. If you can, visit a few countries with your wife like Thailand or Malaysia. That will make your case lot more strong. We visited multiple countries together. Same airlines same hotels etc. Visa stamp on passports same date big help. We had all those evidence on our first interview back in 2011 as K-1 as well but was still denied. They actually never tell you exact reason why they deny as some people asked here. They never can tell you the exact reason because they can never be sure 100%. All they tell you is they have reason to believe the relationship is not real. We are still wondering why our case was denied back in September of 2011 but looking back at it now, I can just assume that looking at our petition, they actually pre determined that they would deny visa anyway. Here is the trigger point of denial based on many interviews I witnessed in 3 years at this Embassy: I spent 3 whole days inside Embassy witnessed many interviews. Overwhelmingly the number one reason for denial is getting engaged or getting married on first visit. No matter how much evidence or how many visits thereafter, doesn't matter. They will ask and ask and ask and focus on that point. How could you get engaged or married to a person of your first visit? How could you? Just few days after meeting for first time? So these days I tell everyone don't get engaged or married on your first visit. Take your time and do it on your 2nd or 3rd visit. If you commit to each other, you will succeed eventually. No one can deny you to be together. After going through everything at this Embassy, K-1 and I-130, I consider myself an expert. I will be happy to help or answer any questions. Good luck

Hello, My fiance (Chinese National) and myself moved to Cambodia June 2013 after the Taliban ended our employment in Afghanistan. My Fiance is going to China soon to obtain necessary documents such as Birth Certificate, husbands' death certificate, police certificate, permission to marry certificate. After her return from China I plan to file the 129 /K1 fiance petition in May 2014 when I visit family in the US. I list her mailing and residence address as S'ville, Cambodia. My residence is also listed as S'ville on the 129 and when I filed my 2013 taxes. We should have sufficient proof of relationship- 4 years of travel visas and work visas together and photos.

Question 1- Do you think US Embassy in PP will process our petition? The US PP embassy states that they process all visas for residence of Cambodia. We have been here for almost a year now.

Question 2- Can you think of any other documentation that the US Embassy in Phnom Penh may want from my Chinese Finance?

Any input wll be truely appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Max

  10. Have a look at this

    http://photos.state.gov/libraries/cambodia/231771/PDFs/k1_visa_instruction_english_08_16_13.pdf

I think she need to get police certificate from here Cambodia. Which she can get from ministry of justice remember to translate them.

    Good luck.

Hi and thanks, Ms China is still gathering necessary documents from China. I should be able to send 129 in May when I visit the US.

  11. This means your NVC procedure is completed. Most countries they let you know interview date within days or weeks but in your case this might be a long wait. I personally had to wait about 6 months! Repeated inquiry was unsuccessful. My case was one of the longest wait in VisaJourney members along with few fellow VJ members who happened to be at this Embassy.. NVC was keep telling me they were waiting for US Embassy in Phnom Penh to get available date and when I kept sending email to US Embassy, they kept telling me they were waiting for NVC to send the case with interview date. However the actual process is US Embassy let NVC know available date and how many people they can schedule and NVC makes interview appointment and let you know at that time. The day they schedule interview they also send your file to US Embassy by DHL. I am guessing your wait time would be 3 to 5 months. One of the few Embassies in the world that take this long after NVC procedure completes.

Hi, This is about another topic and you may have some info. So here is the short version of the tale. I am US male and fiance is China national. We have been together for almost 4 years and I am about to file 129 petition-K1 fiance visa.. We have been living in Cambodia for almost one year. We arrived here after a bombing by the Taliban in Afghanistan ended our employment in Kabul. One question is will the US Embassy in PP process the K1 after I file in The US? Will she need a Cambodia police certificate? Do you know anyone at the US embassy in PP?

    Thanks,

    M

  12. Hey im the UK beneficiary here and my US fiance is coming over to visit in april and would like to have use of a prepaid chip and pin card as she cant seem to order one from her end without the huge fees they incur. She thought about wiring me money so that i could then order one for her but that would mean more charges from both bank accounts, im interested to know if any of you guys or gals from the US have a better idea about this? i told her bringing over £600 in cash is simply a terrible idea but me being the UK citizen my knowledge is limited to how that stuff works out in the US

Hi, I have traveled all over the planet and I have found that US $100 bills work best. Design and make your own money belt that you wear when you are clothed.Make the belt only with cloth. Do not tell ANYONE about the belt. Going through airports just wad it up an place in your carry on. Carry needle and thread for opening and closing the belt.Only take the legal amount of money allowed .Money exchange on a card will kill you.!!
