  1. Quick question in reference to translation of documents. Can the petitioner translate the documents as long as he includes that he certifies and that he is fluent in that language and that it is an accurate representation (I don't remember what exactly I had written but I had followed the proper format. The reason I am now asking is because I had seen somewhere that neither the petitioner or beneficiary may perform the translation. I also read under a USCIS page that the translator must "certify" that it is an accurate representation of what the original document states. The word "certify", tricky word, do they mean that the translator must have a certification or certify in the sense of making the statement and that he states that it is accurate, etc.... ???? Anyone??

  2. Thought I'd update all the other frustrated petitioners out there providing you with an update of the TSC. I contacted USCIS today 7/22/14 and the representative stated that they are currently processing petitions dated December 17th, 2013 and based on my Feb 21 2014 NOA1 she estimated another 2 months. :ranting:

  3. Thanks for all that information. Keep me updated on how all else goes. I will follow up with our physician here in the U.S. since she is here for her to hopefully get what else is needed before traveling back to San Jose with her. Also, I'm going to try to schedule her medical appointment the same week of her interview so we can possibly accomplish all in less than 10 days and fly back together again the States. Did you schedule the interview date close to the medical appointment or that was not of importance??

  4. My fiance will be getting her medical this year, we filed the petition in February and she's currently with me here in the States waiting on it's approval. Not looking forward to the Medical since I can only imagine. But anyway, is there only 3 shots that are required for travel from CR to the U.S.?? And did you say that they wanted $365 for them?? Any update and or recommendations??

  5. Yes I see where the problem comes into place and I don't think that the cruise after the wedding is such a great idea but at least she will still have a Tourist visa that's good for 10 years in her Passport in case of an emergency but we will apply for the I-131 when she adjusts her status. Any idea on how long the I-131 typically takes?

  6. Thinking it over I guess you're right and its not worth the risk. I'll put the cruise off for a bit, but now on the same token, once we get our fiance visa approved we were thinking about getting married on a cruise ship so do you think CBP will deny entry after leaving from miami to the bahamas after getting married in Key West??

  7. Yes of course, not expecting another 6 months at that point. Based on the National statistics I am expecting that our K-1 approval will be next on the table by her allowed 6 month stay expiration and if not it will be time for a week and a half vacation back to her country and back. Hoping that at that point that they would assign another short stay until the k1 interview/approval.

  8. My fiancee is visiting on a Tourist Visa here in the U.S. and she was granted a 6 month stay and it expires Sept 02, 2014. Putting aside the fact that we are waiting on our k-1 accepted 2/21 what I wanted to ask was if anybody has an opinion if we can travel internationally before it expires and return to the U.S. because I was considering a closed-loop cruise to the Bahamas for a few days. I just don't want any complications. I'm thinking that she can come and go freely until September 2nd???

  9. Yes, thank you. And I did have an opportunity to review those links you assisted me with, only I was wondering that if I can obtain the police record from here in the States since she'll have been stateside for the past 6 months. And I only say so because unless I am incorrect I believe the police record has to be from where the bride resided for the last 6 months. And please, do correct me if I am wrong.

I also did want to travel with her to help her get everything done in a timely manner and correctly. She's been under "my wing", per se, for nearly a year now.

Do you think we can get all accomplished

Oh, and do you think that if we plan ahead the interview and medical that we can possibly get it all done within 9 business days??

  10. My fiance was granted a 6 month stay visiting with me here in U.S. which should cover the approximate 5 month processing time, Anybody with any personal experience or knowledge in regards to dealing with the Embassy in Costa Rica as far as her not being able to be notified because she is no longer available at her contact number and will not be able to pick up the next packet until WE fly back to get her medical and interview; assuming notification is within the 6 months that she's allowed to stay here/expiration of her B-2. I'm assuming I will get my email/text message notification upon approval and it's forwarding to the NVC & ultimately to the Embassy in Costa Rica.

    1. Will we be able to schedule the interview instead of the Embassy doing so? And the purpose of that is so we can coordinate the medical and whatever other else that needs to be done.

2.. Can we obtain a police records check for her from here in the U.S. because by then she'll have been in the states for the past 6 months and not Costa Rica.

    Thanks all!!

  11. anybody with recent past experience with getting the medical portion of the processing?? According to the info under the embassy it advises that the results are not immediate. I'm trying to get it all done in a timely manner and does anybody know if it is available within a day or two so i can schedule the appointment close to the interview date when I get that information from the Consulate. I can always call the doctors if all else fails

  12. Yes I understand & see everyone's point of view and my decision is far from being made up since my petition was just accepted mid Feb 2014. My only concern was the time period that we have to wait again and having to surrender her passport for the fiance visa and that she has to stay there for an undetermined period of time before coming to our home again. I wrote the embassy asking for an estimated turn around time upon presenting medical records, documents and the interview, and obtaining the visa in our hands again but they did not provide me with one. My intentions were/are to travel back with her and coordinate all necessary baby steps for the visa and then return in a week but there's no guarantee that that's possible.
