How do you think the NVC know you need a police check huh? Yep, from the address you put in the DS261.... if you didn't put these address they don't know you need one..... Do you think they just guess? . if the OP in the main post has put she lived in Thailand for over 6/12 months, then YES she sill need a police check (which is what she was asking) as the NVC will see, oh this person lived in Thailand - the fact she is on a visitor visa means zip! So yes, there is a correlation between what you put on the forms and what the NVC will ask for - my word it is lie explaining to a child.
So from now on will you please just be polite to people on this forum, many members have complained about your attitude and what you post, all are trying to help. Yes all will not be right, but we can't all be as well educated at you now can we

trouble is they are taking now 6-8 weeks from receipt of your file (roughly), but I to appreciate that they are working hard…..
However it is not 8 weeks to receive it from the USCIS service centre…!

It is not great but why are you fretting now? They state 20-30 business days, plus when you read these posts it looks like they are actually at 30-40 business days…. don't stress yourself out so much, wait for it to hit 30 days then call every 1-2 days….. getting stressed won't help as there is zero you can do apart from be prepared when you need to be!

I see a lot of you are getting heartbroken and angry over the NVC wait for a case,which i admit is awful but don't guys its not healthy… if you read the posts and comments from others it is taking 6-8 weeks to get a case number. For example If your case was received Feb 3rd, then you have another 3-4 weeks (roughly) to wait…. It sucks but no need to let it effect your life of state of mind
Just concentrate on positive things in your life….. keep yourself busy and time will fly by and you will be with your loved ones soon….. i know its easy to say hard to do.!

Thanks, I saw it… but because this happened to one person does it make it a "thing"? i.e: how do you/we know that if you use a lawyer both become payable at the same time?

So it seems some were updated some were not, nothing like a good set of USCIS operational standards!

So does USCIS check my criminal history also? So…. USCIS checks, then NVC, then I have to get a police certificate…… anyone else think this is just to make extra £££££

Don't worry at all, your RFE will be for some BS reason, probably something that was lost in transfer that you actually submitted! Seen it loads on this forum recently!

Noooo, its all about fudging numbers to get an "average" processing time near 5 months. CSC will be working on JULY/AUG/SEPT for at least another 6-8 weeks, by then new petitions will go to CSC and they will work on them, thus bringing down the "average". USCIS has been doing this for months now, hence why we see JULY/AUG filers approved ahead of those all the way up to April/May!
