    Just paperclip things together and use large binder clips for the package. Don't bother with manila folders, prong fasteners, or tabs/flags. Those are only going to be removed and thrown out.
    Size of the package does not matter, it's the quality of evidence that you enclosed (FWIW, my I-130 package was nearly 5cm high).
    I submitted the file using USPS Priority Mail.

    I printed about 20 pictures on 4x7 size paper.
    I grouped our photos, wedding together, photos with friends and family and then pictures of just the two of us on trips etc.

    I suggest printing pictures directly onto the page if at all possible. It will save money in weight.

    Hi Lukee,
    In my case, I printed out photos of us together (trips, visiting him, with his family, with friends) directly from Facebook ( with dates and comments form friends etc) on the A4 papers and wrote descriptions and signed on each paper after that. And arranged chronologically. Around 20 pics I think. Some pictures are quite funny
    GL!

    The e-ticket will most likely be sufficient.
    Also, do you have stamps in your passport? You could photo copy these as long as they have the country name and date.
    As for the photograph, I'm not sure. But it can't hurt to unclude it.

    ~~~Replies to this thread's OP in the other thread carried over to here.~~~
    ~~Moderator hat off~~
    Regarding the part of the post in bold and red above, CBP is no longer placing special I-551 stamps in passports of immigrant visa holders. Instead, CPB places a standard entry stamp on the page next to the visa itself (the endorsement). It is a combination of the visa endorsed by an entry stamp that acts as a temporary green card until the actual card arrives.
    For skype, we downloaded a programmed recommened by other VJ users, It's called Skypelog I think, it allows you to see all calls, chats etc with certain people without seeing the actual content of the message. We printed about 5-6 pages for every year showing various dates, so about 20pages altogether
    We didn't bother with affidavits from friends as we provided alot of other stuff showing joint bank acc, etc.
    Hi
    we applied for CR1.
    I am same case like you.I had C1D crew member.We got married in Miami in one day,you dont need a marriage license.It took 20 minutes to do it.
    otherwise your spouse have to file in city court where lives to obtain marriage license which takes up to 10 days.
    If you need more information (contact) me ill help you.
    My case is at NVC before scheduling interview.
    Ignore what I have written above. K3 is not a fiancee/fiance visa, thats the K1. K3 is almost not used or issued anymore by USCIS. What you have to look at is the CR1/IR1 visa. Thats the path you have to follow.
    A K3 is a fiance/fiancee visa. That is for a fiance/fiancee to get married and stay in the US and then adjust status. That is not the case with you. You are just performing the marriage in the US. Your fiancee can then leave and wait for a spousal visa at her country of residence.
    Though since you have not gotten married yet, then you are eligible to petition for a K1.
    Look at this, it gives you an explanation of the types of visas that are available. http://www.visajourney.com/content/compare
    Choose which one is best for the 2 of you.
    Your fiancee will be ok to marry in the US as long as she entered it legally. Since she is entering it legally with a C1D visa then you have no problems performing the marriage in the US. The US does not have a problem if you get married there and then leave and file from overseas. That is what my husband and I did. I had entered on a ESTA, we got married and I left after 12 days.
    Since California has no waiting period then it works out pretty good for you guys. Make sure that you call the county where you will be getting married to book and appointment for the marriage licence issuance and then the marriage ceremony straight after. Since she flies out at 8pm, and Im assuming her hotel pick up for the airport is around 3 hrs before her departure time, that gives you pretty much all day to do this.
    Make a note that if either of you have been married before, it is a good idea to have proof of the disolution of previous marriage (divorce decree, death certificate, etc) with you on the day you file for the marriage license. Other than that, only thing you two need is a valid ID. Her passport is more then enough for that.
    Another thing, since you are looking at the spousal visa requirements, focus on the CR1/IR1 guides. K3 is pretty much obselete. And you can file for the I-130 as soon as you have your marriage certificate in your hands. We got ours issued straight after our marriage ceremony, I don't know if its the same for California.
    Study the spousal visa guides on here for all other paperwork and evidence that is needed for you to file.
    Good luck and congrats!
    I posted this on your hello VJ thread, but since you have created a new topic for it, I'll add it here too.
    First things first. Usually how long of a stay does your fiancee have in the US between her flights? 2 or 3 days?
    Next thing is which state are planning to get married in?
    For example, Maryland requires 48 hours to pass between you getting your marriage license to you getting married.
    Saying that the I-130 needs adjusticating basically means that they havent even looked at it yet. We are still waiting for an approval.
    It might help if you tell us which country your fiancee is from. Other people on this site from the same country could give you pointers as to how to deal with the local government.
    In regards to filing before or after your wedding banquet is also your choice and alil bit on where your fiancee is from.
    For example, me being from Greece, it is not considered a high fraud country ( at least in the eyes of the US embassy when it comes to people trying to get a spousal visa, on a fraudulent marriage). So my husband filed our petition with just our marriage certificate and a couple of pics from the courthouse ceremony. We didnt include our pics from our wedding reception which happened in August.
    Again, knowing which country your fiancee is from will help all members on VJ give you better advice.
    As yet, I have not dealt with the US embassy. We are unfortunately a long way away from that happening. We are still waiting for our I-130 to be adjusticated.
    In a nutshell there are three steps for the CR1/IR1 visa. First is filing the I-130. Once that is approved (about 6-7 months at the moment), your casefile will then be sent to NVC (National Visa Centre). Once approved (about 3 months) from NVC it is sent to the US embassy of your fiancee's country. She will have attend an interview and then her visa is issued.
    Your fiancee will have to deal with local agencies, other than the police certificate, which is needed for every country your fiancee has resided in for longer than 6 months after the age of 16, she will also need her birth certificate, any court records such as divorce decree is applicable. All of which need to be originals or a certified copy. She will also have to have a medical done.
    As far as I know, the embassy only deals with you. Though if they require to more information on your fiancee they could very well approach local governement agencies, but that will most likely happen without your knowledge. Again, I am not sure of this.
    Follow the below guides. They explain the whole process step by step.
