KARMK got a reaction from C & D in January 2014 TSC Filers
Hi all, my I-129F was received by the Texas Service Center on January 22 and my NOA1 was dated January 24. I started this thread for January 2014 filers whose applications are being processed at TSC so we can stay up to date on progress in processing the applications. Good luck to everyone!

First off, you do not have the authority to "send him back" a person is not merchandise rather, you have changed your mind and no longer wish to marry and he has decided to return.
Anyway, as far as ideas, you can put the ticket on a credit card and pay it back with time (responsible thing would be to figure out a way to come up,with $800 to get the man a ticket home)... Worst case he can contact his embassy and explain that his sponsor has changed their mind and he needs to get home. They have been known to sometimes arrange for a flight and collect later. But you really should spring for the mans ticket home.

The February 7, 2014 processing date for TSC is wrong. We have a thread for January 2014 TSC filers and I would say 95% of us (if not more) have not yet received NOA2. The poster above is correct, expect 5-6 months. Other than expediting Philippines petitions, the beneficiary's home country is irrelevant.

Culture shock, OP. I came from Australia and still had it. I was stuck for three months before our wedding with no transportation, living in a tiny town in northern Michigan (the biggest attraction was the local pizza diner), with my then fiance gone for 8-10 hours working. My mind was my worst enemy. I wrestled hard with homesickness. It didn't relent after marriage. It took me nine months to really get my wake up call. Sometimes I really didn't even want to get out of bed in the mornings. It was hard not being able to drive and my social circles were very limited. Everything was slightly different in the US - the food made me terribly ill (I have a corn and gluten allergy). It was hard not to feel miserable. My husband suffered deeply, also. I know he didn't marry a negative, angry, depressed woman.
One day, a glorious, fall day, I just woke up, put on my big girl panties, and decided it was time to live for today. Stopped worrying about how I was going to adjust and blah blah. It was time to embrace life over here because my love was and is totally worth it. The raincloud was lifted, and home wasn't missed as much.
Each experience is different. Can't say your fiance will be the same as I. Best thing, I found as the immigrant, is to make the most of it. Keep busy. Be proactive. Husband used to leave me little lists to keep me busy with, such as, "Go out to the library; finish the watercolour you started; cook something delicious from your culture." They helped a lot.
One thing my husband didn't do - either before our wedding, or afterwards - was give up on me, because he saw me genuinely struggling to keep my head above the water. Key word: struggling. You need to decipher whether your fiance is trying or not; whether he's really trying to make things work, and this could take a bit of time to determine (homesickness does strange, strange things to ya). Heart to hearts and open communication help tremendously.
Edit: If you do come to the conclusion you need to call it off, better now than after the wedding.

Confusion about civil and criminal law, she can of course be deported and there are plenty of examples on here of cases where that has happened.
But there are tens of millions of people in a similar situation, the chances are low.
Chances of being picked up flying internally are also very low, but it happens.
Safest option is to get married and file, as soon as you have filed you are under the colour of law and are essentially good.
    Depends on your risk tolerance.

Does anyone know if there is a separate January 2014 TSC filers topic? If not, it may make sense to start one -- it's confusing to see all the CSC filers getting NOA2 and hard to keep track of what's going on with applications being processed at TSC.
