Just got back from the oath ceremony, what a great morning it was, people from 96 countries in Plano, one thing I will say, I had the early ceremony at 7:30 and tons of us showed up at 6:45 but they refused to open the doors till 7:30 on the dot, but other than that it went perfectly, I’m officially a US Citizen!!

Got my Oath Ceremony tomorrow at 7:30AM, I know a lot of others have theirs later in the day, just wanted to say good luck, I have a long drive from Midlothian up through Dallas and onto Plano in the morning so that's going to be fun.

I attended my interview today and all went smooth - took only 10-15 mins. The lady that interviewed me was very friendly and conversational. My oath ceremony is on Nov 21st. Questions she asked me are below
    - Name one problem that led to the Civil War
    - Who was the first President of the United States
    - Who did the US fight against in World War I
    - Why are there 50 stars on the flag
    - What stops one branch of the government from becoming too powerful

    Application based questions
    - Date of birth
    - Husband's name
    - Current address
    - Are you employed? Where do you work? What is your current title?

Just wanted to give more of an in depth report for those with upcoming interviews, I had mine on Friday 27th, early 9AM appointment, we drove up and got there fine, plenty of parking, you basically go through the main entrance and show your appointment letter, then you get shafted through the typical scanner you see at the airports, then you checkin and head upstairs and wait for them to call your name. I got called in and I had to stand and swear to tell the truth etc. Then he went straight into the civics test, got 6/6, I was really lucky to get the fairly straight forward questions, I know for sure I got 'Who is the father of our country' 'Why does the flag have 50 stars' 'What did Susan B Anthony do' he then asked other details such as my name, any other names used, my wifes d.o.b and our marriage date, if we still lived together, then of course he makes you read a sentence in English, I think mine was 'I Can Vote' then I had to write on the tablet 'Citizens can vote' which was more scribbed than written since the stylus is pretty hard to use (I know others have mentioned this), then he told me he was recommending my approval and he walked me out.

It's one of those situations were I was so nervous going in, but when I was out I wondered what I was nervous for... Good luck to everyone else going for interviews soon!

yup. I was texting my sister while in the waiting room, and after I came out of the "2nd interview" she said man just our luck. lol The agents were never rude or anything, I understand they are doing their job but God, I'm glad I kept calm and answered everything with the truth!   he even asked how many people we invited to our wedding (200+, typical hispanic; everyone and their mama's came lol)
Now send me my letter pleaseeeeee!

Just got my Oath ceremony date, October 31st at 7:30AM. The letter is still using my birth name which is concerning but I think he said when I attend the actual ceremony the name will be changed... super annoying since I’ve gone under my mother’s maiden name all my life since the age of a few months old and the entire process was done under my name but now when I’m on the last step he decides he wants me to get a different document to indicate my name change that happened 25+ years ago

That's right, I think my case is unique in the sense my name change already occured 25 years ago, he stated he'd like me to have a more official document signed by a judge, so he approved it under my birth name and at the same time had me sign a name change document that would be approved before my oath ceremony, I'll definitely let you know what happens after my Oath on the 31st, thank you very much for the help/advise Bill & Katya, I really just wanted some reassurance and you've certainly given me that!

Thank you for the help, I’ll definitely pay close attention, I told him it’s never been an issue before and I’ve gone through the entire US immigration process using that same document and nobody has ever questioned it, he made me sign a document regarding the name change and he told me to double check it to make sure it matches the name I’ve been using, he also asked if I want to keep my middle name and I said yes, so I’m sure everything is processing correctly, the only issue I suppose would be if it didn’t go through before the oath, I’ll be sure to check at the ceremony
