So funny...i can feel for ya!

My wife is coming from Colombia. She has never been to the US. She is probably going to arrive in DC in December. I wanted her to arrive in the summer or fall and not when all the leaves are missing and when it is so cold outside (compared to where she is from). Anyways, the past few days I have ordered clothes for her from Victorias Secret and Nordstroms:

1. Two winter wool coats

2. Four cashmere sweaters

3. Three cashmere or wool winter dresses

4. Two pairs of high heeled full length leather boots

They all got here today. It was nice to start putting her clothes in the closet. It felt like we were one step closer to being together.

Everybody knows about women, clothes and shopping. Colombian women are on steroids when it comes to clothes and (especially) shoes/high heels...Thank God I make great money!

Anyways, she has some things here for her first few days and I am sure the first week we will spend a lot of time taking care of her "winter wardrobe" (What am I going to do? All of my closets are full of my shoes and clothes!) HAHAHAHAHAHA....first world problems. I am blessed!

Lets go NVC! Take care of all of these patient people here!.................................and PS....HABU!!!

My previous post was based on Interview but if it seems to be more like NVC ranting then am out of here. I'll rather stick to the NVC rant thread.

Okay here is the history of the history of the interview scheduing.

We started this thread august 2012. From August 2012 until January 2014 interviews always started 2nd week of the month without fail. You call NVC they would always say "we will start scheduling 2nd week of the month". We refute that didn't believe it. Because now and then someone from any embassy would get a date at a time when no one was getting scheduled. But it would be this embassy or that one not all of them.

But There was no round 2 that was it. Than end of January 2014 they started scheduling for the next month interviews starting about the last 3 to 4 days of the month(usually 27th or 28th) for the not preceding month but next month after that. Than June 2014 was the first time of 1st and 2nd rounds it was nice having people wait just 2 weeks. But summer is the busy season.

The same with the Case complete email it use to take a week than again January 2013 it was instant. I remember mine came while I was on the phone getting my interview date. The lady was like we sent you an email 30 minutes ago. Now we are back to 1 week from case complete.

Hey Guys,

I have just talked with a lady named Jean at NVC and she told me that the inteviews are being scheduled this week and the next week.

But she does not know if we (Our CC was on Sept. 15th) will get the November interview. It dépends on the capacity of each embassy.

She told me to call back in Mid October if we don't hear anything.

So anyway, it looks like they are starting scheduling the inteviews this week and next week (two weeks, she said) so some of you ( I hope all of us who already got CCs here) wil get the interviews scheduled sometime over the next two weeks.

It's like some weird game we are playing where the time space continuum rules are constantly changing. Speed of light. Frequencies bending. Gravity disappears, then reappears Which way is up? That phase 1 and phase 2 scheduling was just a June -September phenomena they never have done it before and I think they are going back to the beginning of the month maybe 2nd week of the month scheduling.

Why do you think that? Just curious as to why you made that statement. Please understand I'm a data guy, so everything for me is about past performance, trends, analytics, etc... My previous statement was based on the past 3 to 4 months of trends, based on your spreadsheet. But we can not predict what they will do. Without a doubt, consistency and logic is missing during this entire process. I have a better chance of predicting who will win the Super Bowl, and the exact scores, or picking the 6 numbers in the correct order for the 100 million dollar lottery. Just trying to understand your reasoning.

What was the previous trend, prior to June-September? Based on your experience. Thanks in advance!

After a rough review of the spreadsheet? It seems as if they schedule every two weeks, about...give or take.

Jun: 10/11 and 23/24

Jul: 9/10/11 and 29/30/31

Aug: 14/15 and 29 (very few at the end of the month)

Sep: 2/3/4 and 10/11/12 (so close? due to the backlog from late Aug?)

I hoping that this rough pattern means that they will start scheduling in the next three days...Oct 1/2 and then also again around Oct. 14/15/16. They must have the cases building up because they did not schedule any (that we know of) over the past few days.

Any other thoughts around that "shot in the dark" theory?

The rep told me at the phone that tomorrow they will start scheduling interviews for the following mont (November) so that means there are weak chances for today to hear something about an interview being scheduled.

I got nada...First lady at the NVC? Could barely understand her, why do the hire people that can barely speak english? Had to be put back in the queue her English was so poor.

Second person? His English was fine....no estimate, no dates, no idea when they schedule. All he said was that the Bogota Embassy has been notified and we are waiting on them to send the date for you interview.

A million questions and "I don't know. I don't know. I don't know."

Glad someone got my joke!

So I called a friend of mine at the State Department and he gave me a little inside info. I then called a friend at a national phone company, he gave me the range of numbers for the NVC in NH (private line outbound). After a little calling, I found the range of numbers from the NVC desks. I then went to an internet voice over IP relay (boomerang) site where I can enter my desired source number (NH NVC number). I called my ex military buddy who works at the embassy in Bogota and he gave me the bank of numbers for the consulate that deals with visas. So I entered the source NVC NH number in the boomerang server, called a few numbers at the consulate, got someone on the phone, acted like a depressed beleaguered American NVC employee and set up my own interview date! It worked like a charm! October 16th baby!!!!!

I worked too much in military comms and have been in large Data Center / ISP comms for over 25+ years. It's feasible, but only that. Just a weird technical "wish I could" daydream. A great idea though! hahahaha!!! The most ironic thing is? I have worked on all of these networks where our data travels. But just a day dream...completely on the up and up here, doing it 100% legal (disclaimer for NSA who is now sourcing my IP address to find my identity...just a joke boys!) hahahaha

Well that was a waste of my time. The lady could barely speak English. She seemed to be new. I asked her questions and she could not answer them and then hung up on me! hahaha!

She did say the will start scheduling November interviews on Oct 1. She was a NEWB, so who knows.

She wont last long.

There was no need to send a new Police Certificate in. They had it. For some reason the first person to review my case didn't see it, or thought it was an old version, or something....I don't know. Once I spoke to the Supervisor she saw it was the correct form and marked my case complete when I was on the phone.

Don't freak if you don't get a date til next month for November. I had to wait til July 10th for Round 2 after I got a CC in June bc I barely missed Round 1. Hopefully they're still doing 2 rounds.

I spoke to a Supervisor last week when she marked my CC. She said they will start scheduling interviews this week and that I would most likely get a date for November (Bogota). As we all know it is based on local embassy case loads. From what I can tell? The past 100 cases schedule averaged about 45.85 days/6.5 weeks from CC to interview date (all embassies), based on the VJ excel sheet (I assume that is 7 day weeks and not 5 business days on the google/excel spreadsheet).
