CONFUSED!!!! Our case went from Administrative Processing. His interview was two weeks ago to READY again? WHY????????? Is this good or bad?

Thanks Ozgirl . Ever so glad to see you managed to get the package and send the papers off. Your right January would be a cheaper travel time. I am still gritting used to the lack of public transport here that's why I really have to get myself a drivers licence pronto.

The cheaper January travel is the positive I am looking at now, too. I don't see Christmas happening. It's just not the same over Skype, though. Still stuck in Administrative Processing here. So far Rio doesn't seem to be in any hurry. I think they have a copy an paste response for when I inquire because they DO NOT answer questions. I just get this "We have recently received the pending documentation. It was passed to the consular officer for review. Please wait our contact as soon as possible." Word for word exactly the same every time.

My fiancee had his interview on November 27 and I have been stalking the site ever since. It is stuck on Administrative Processing but I think it is working because the date updates regularly. As for it going back and forth between Immigrant and Non-Immigrant Visa, I've noticed it has always done that. I think it has a glitch. Sometimes after putting Immigrant the option for a location disappears and sometimes it does not. If you leave it blank, you will still get the status. I'm waiting for it to say "Issued". Hopefully tomorrow.

The K1 is a hybrid visa - the DoS considers it non-immigrant but it allows you to adjust status legally in the US once married. The bolded part doesn't apply to K1s.

2 days to go for the interview in my case. Train is booked. Will pay MRV and Courier tomorrow. Everything is now in my hands, literally and metaphorically.

THANK YOU!!!!! Someone responded to another thread that I started. Same thing happened. He's also from Brazil. He said that after a week it went from Administrative Processing to Visa issued and then they had the visa in 5 days. These two posts give me hope! I'm still hoping for a Christmas Miracle.

When was your interview??? THANK YOU FOR REPLYING!!!! I emailed them and they said wait. It just says on NVC website that I can't do anything for 60 days and I miss him so bad. This has had me in such a panic for over a week that I've lost 10 pounds because when food touches my stomach I feel sick so I just can't even eat! Is there hope that I'll be with him in time for Christmas??

Called the Department of State.... STUPID PLAN!!!! They say Administrative Processing can take up to 60 days and that I can't even ask until it has been 60 days since the interview. The original hope was to fly him out tomorrow but that's not gonna happen. The thing that scares me is at the bottom of Administrative Processing it says "

Stuck in Administrative Processing. If I would have had a clear approval or denial, I wouldn't be so upset. This is torture. I emailed the embassy... no reply. They got the paperwork and didn't request anything else but the date updates EVERY DAY.

We are stuck in Administrative Processing since the 27th. I am going crazy! I want my fiancee by Christmas.

My fiancee's K1 visa interview was Wednesday November 27 in Rio de Janeiro, they asked for more info and received it. They changed the date of Administrative Processing to today's date and sent an email stating that they sent the information for review? Can anyone tell me how long it says administrative processing before they change it and issue the visa? I've seriously made myself sick worrying about this because all I want it to be in my fiancee's arms again! Is this a good sign? Does EVERy case say administrative processing before the visa is issued? They let him pay the fee to have it couriered to him.

Does every case say administrative processing before approved? They got my docs and read them. I got an email saying they were received and forwarded for review. My first reaction was panic but then thought maybe that's normal? If it does, how long til it says approved! The stress of this is seriously making me sick! I just want to be with my guy!!

Hi, does anyone know if I need to bring the original and/or copy of the NOA2 on the interview day? Thanks.

Oh wow!! I'm sorry! I do hope you guys find a way! It's heartbreaking because we can't be with the person we fell in love with as much as we would like and then we have to jump through hoops to make it happen. Someone said that when you have to work hard for something it means a lot more and I really think that's true. My fiancee means the world to me and I'm going to find a way to make this work. I told my boss on Wednesday when they suggested I send it fedex overnight that I had to do it. She was ok with it so I took a few extra minutes. $104.33 to send a envelope from Michigan to Rio but if I had it, my fiancee is worth that times a million. I was so excited that the package was delivered at the embassy today but heartbroken when it was time for the embassy to close and our status still said Admimistrative Processing. The good news is that it is NOT a denial.... just a delay. Just keep the faith. My fiancee and I both pray every night and I have no doubts.

It's after 5pm in Rio so I am sure no chance for news before the weekend. I just want us to start our lives together and we can't book a plane ticket til I know more. I believe it will be approved. i just wish I knew when. I want to spend Christmas with the love of my life.

WOW!! Posted in a panic from my phone this morning! They asked me to overnight the tax papers. I copied them and made them darker. I sent the originals as well as the darkened copies and they said that once they get them the visa should be issued within 2 days. My fiancee paid for teh overnight courier service. They let him pay all fees so it should be ok. I just freaked out because I wanted instant approval. I'm still probably gonna have my man in time for christmas. He did say that the interview was crazy and that they asked questions he didn't expect but he had no trouble answering them. They told him he needed to explain how such a long distance relationship woould work and they really questioned it but his answer was acceptable. There is no reason why the visa should be denied. I sent the documents they asked for via FedEx early this afternoon and was told tehy would be delivered Monday. I know tomorrow is a hoiiday but the embassy is open on friday. According to FedEx, they will het it on Friday. Our Status changed to Administrative Processing before my fiancee ever had achance to call. Hopefully it changes again on either Friday or Monday. I feel so much better that earlier!

Not approved but not denied. My joint sponsor (my brother) gave me tax info that was nearly impossible to read. They want the originals. I'm scared because even his originals were nearly impossible to read. He tax guy was terrible. They asked me to fed-ex them directly to the consulate. The interview went fine and they even had him pay the fee to have his passport courriered back to him. The guy said that if it was denied, they would have gave his passport back immediately. Now I jut hope I can get the info from my brother. I called him and he said. "#######< I don't know where that is".... UGH!!! He was so insistant on bgeting it back.If it weren't for the W2's, I'd see if his tax guy can give another copy.

He's been there for about two hours now! The embassy doesn't allow phones so he had to leave it home!! I'm going crazy!! All night long I woke up every 15 to 25 minutes! It's now 5:30 my time (8:30 Rio de Janeiro) and I have been awake for an hour! I keep checking the department of state website!! Still says ready!! I need help!!!

Can't sleep!!! Fiancée is leaving home to go to the embassy in less than three hours! He hasn't got to sleep yet either! He's gonna be tired! He and is went over a long list of questions at least 6 times, he showed me what he's wearing, we organized all of the documents AGAIN, and he counted the fee money!! I love him do much and can't wait to hear how if goes!!!

I came here to ask the same question. If all goes well for my fiancee, we will get his ticket tomorrow. The original plans were to use my Skymiles but since we are booking the ticket for (hopefully) less than two weeks away and during the holiday season, my Skymiles are not enough. I found that a round trip ticket is over $400 cheaper so we were worried if we book a round trip ticket he will have trouble at his POE. What exactly will they say when he enters if he has a round trip ticket or do they even question it? Delta said if we don't use it for a visit, we can credit it back to our account for future travel. He should be coming in through Atlanta. Also, does anyone have a suggestion on how long of a layover he might need at the POE? I was told that they take immigrants into customs and talk to them for a while. I am seeing 2-3 hour layovers for teh flights we are looking at. It jumps up to 8-9 hour layovers after that. I hate to have him stuck at an airport for 8-9 hours if not necessary.

In just over 24 hours my fiancee will be headed to his interview. We've gone over possible questions, we've organized, reorganized, and reorganized the documents again. He's ready! Tomorrow I work late and he goes to church at night so we are only going to have a few minutes to talk. I'm excited but have a feeling it's gonna be a couple of sleepless nights!

We are 5200 miles apart but both my fiancee and I have been feeling sick every day. I can hardly eat. It has be stress because neither of us have been enar anyone who is sick. I will be so glad when Wednesday gets here! I'm going completely crazy.
