Thank God after 5 months since filing and a lot of stress we finally got the visa! I went to the American embassy at Guatemala to pick up my visa at 3:30pm and got it not even five minutes after getting there I just had to check all the data was correct! And indeed it was!
I thank God for everyone who helped me out at some point! I know I asked several people for their help and almost always got an immediate answer! If it weren't for this website and community I don't know if anything would have turned out so smoothly!
Now it's only 33 days for me and my fiancé to finally be together again! And then we begin the AOS journey (does it ever end???) anyway! Thanks and I'll be sure to help anyone to the best of my abilities and experience, if I can't I'll pray for you!

My interview was today and I got APPROVED! They didn't ask for anything else other than what was stated in the package and just barely asked me a few questions about how we met, last time I went to the states to visit him, and where we planned to live! I did have a bit of a hiccup with my fingerprints but all in all it went great! Looking forward to Monday to finally have the visa in my hands!!

I'm from Guatemala, when I called the doctors office they told me they needed this to get your case number, so if you have any other documentation provided by an official agency with your case number. I would suggest calling the doctors office and telling them what you have! But always check with the doctors office first!

Hey I'm a fellow Chapin member! My fiancé and I submitted our I-129f on October last year after getting engaged in August, we also want to have a religious wedding here in Guatemala because we both have families here and we were hoping to get married by August so that there was enough time! Considering we got our NOA2 EXTREMELY fast we felt it was best to push Back the religious wedding in Guatemala until the end of December to guarantee enough time to get either the advanced parole or the actual green card! What took us the most time was receiving any sort of information about package 3 (they only sent us the instructions after many many calls to the embassy after two weeks after we got the letter from the NVC) and then the next available interview was until March!!! I booked the interview in January so you figure how busy they were. I would strongly recommend you move your wedding date and don't even try to estimate how long things will be until you get your NOA2 then take into consideration if your case has any sorts of problems that might delay the process! If you need any help or info feel free to Private message me and I'll help with what I can! Good luck!

Hey where did you find this 150 potential questions, my interview is this upcoming friday! I'd like to be super prepared for everything!

My fiancé and I went through the same thing.. If you floor for past topics it will say it doesn't mean anything but I believe it took 20 days from our NOA1 to our NOA2 and in the middle of that we got a text message saying our alien registration number had changed... Don't get your hopes up but for us that was a good sign!! Hope it means the same for you too!!

The package sounds great but make sure they accept translations like that or if you need an official translation! Also make sure you get a copy of EVERYTHING you're sending!

Not to be mean but seriously who in the world doesn't have access to a blank piece of paper and a pen? Why not ask one of his friends! His family! Unless he lives on a very remote location I don't think anyone on this day and age won't have access to it (I live in Guatemala and that's considered a third world country). Are you sure he is ready and willing to go through this entire process still?
-
Hey i dont know how it works but i had to email my embassy about 3 times cuz i waited a month and they wouldnt tell me anything!! we also werent aware there is an expiration date on your NOA2 but please email your embassy asking them how the process is coming along!
-
I know he will be here illegally, but I don't know if this will affect me. No I haven't contacted the embassy, I have mixed feeling about all this
I dont know the EXACT procedure for this but remember YOU were the one who singed all the paperwork petitioning him because you wanted to marry him, you must have presented a paper that stated that you were financially responsible for him... remember you filed the f-129 because you INTENDED TO MARRY HIM, if this has changed i would notify the authorities since it might be considered illegal for him to enter the united states with that visa if he doesnt intend to marry you...

So on december 20th we recieved the letter from the NVC stating that our case had been forwarded to the Guatemalan Embassy as part of the process (our papers were approved in November by the Texas service center). I havent heard anything from the embassy and when i try to contact them by phone all i get is a call center with basic information about non.immigrant visas i cant seen to get someone to ask them specifically about my process, i cant even get anyone on the phone its all programmed stuff.. i wonder if this is a fairly regular time period for the embassy not to contact me or if i should start contacting them.. Has anything like this happened to anyone? what should i do?

This website has helped me throught my entire process but Im slightly confused... I just got our NOA2 on the mail the other day, but I dont know which NVC they sent it too.. where are we supposed to find out? Do they send something else in the mail to the USC or to the Alien fiance.. Where do we call to see if they recieved it or how our process is doing..
Any information would be amazing! and greatly appreciated! Thanks again!!

As long as you dont do drugs, and have good health normal health you should be ok. the main thing i beleive they are looking for is that you dont do drugs or have any diseases like Aids etc. good luck you should be ok
<3
Thank you sooooo much i was beggining to freak out a little! hahaha!

I was wondering about the medical check, and what sort of thing they are looking for, can they deny a visa base on results from it? This would be very helpful please!

I got my NOA2 16 days after they accepted the case,we know how EXTREMELY lucky we are... My fiancé called several times and every time they estimated a completely different time lapse, first three months then five to nine... We really did our research and sent, in my opinion, a fairly complete package, we tried to anticipate any possible problems /questions they might had and just sent it along with our package... I guess it all comes down to luck, but you will all be in my prayers!

Check out my time line. It will help answer some of your questions.
That was actually pretty fast!! That date in the bottom was that one made for me or is it yours?
-
Since it's the petitioners name on the form everything should be filled out by him or her

So me and my fiancé just mailed the I-129F from the Usps website it says that it was already delivered. How long does it take for us to get any notification? (We did fill out the form to get notifications through texts and emails)
What notifications will we get and what are the next steps? What now?? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks everyone!!

Ok so im VERY new to this whole k-1 visa and today is the first day i actually sat down in order to tackle the paper work. The first question that came up is 1) Are g-325 forms still requires? if so 2) Is it absolutely necessary that mine (alian fiance) is originally signed, because i would have to sign it here where i am (outside the US) and then mail it to him, which will delay the process... =/
3) Can i take a screen shot of my facebook in order to send as Supporting Evidence, we use our facetime to talk to each other and that doesnt really show much other than he is the only person i pretty much talk to.. Will it help? would it even count?? anyway if anyone could please help!!! Thanks
