  1. What did they ask in RFE?

i think USCIS is replying depending the situation and depending what RFE they asked.

first, during my interview , everything went well. she told me she thinks my papers are all good, congratulations and that i will receive a notice gor oath taking, that oath taking will be 2-3 weeks after. But i am upset after 1 week i received a notice but not for my oath taking, but RFE. they asked a letter of explanation from my husbabd's company. and a proof that i will leave the country as soon as i have my citizenship. we bought a plane ticket which will be on july 6.

in your RFE notice, theres a date there that you can send your RFE on or before that date. Mine is June 8, so i guess they are opening the responded RFE documents on the date they had given you on your RFE notice. goodluck to you.

  2. No yet. Lawyer said i have to wait. it will be a long wait. i think few months..

i dont wanna sit hear and wait. i have a traumatic experience in the philippines during my interview. they put me in AP because my medical result was still not in my file. i kept calling the embassy and they kept telling me on AP and it will take time. after 5 months i decided to go and withdraw my passport. only to find out my file is just sitting in the corner. my medical result was still close. no one reviewed it. the clinic i had my medical told me they sent it to the embassy same day of my interview. so what hurt most? my medical expired so i need to do it again, 300$.

so now im not gonna sit here and wait. ive been calling and they are just telling me what i can see on my online case status. and when i told them i already sent my rfe, wait 120 days. I just wanna make sure my file is not sitting in the corner again and collecting dust.

during my interview she told me, congratulations and just wait for the letter for your oath, it will be 2-3 weeks. then got rfe. sad sad sad.

  3. What did they requested for?

my n400 application is under section 319b. meaning my husband is working abroad and im securing citizenship so i can be with my spouse. They asked a proof that i will leave the country in 45 days aftwr getting my citizenship. so my hubby didnt think of any proof aside from plane ticket, date july 6. then another rfe is a letter from my hubby's company explsining of what they are asking.

i hope i can have my oath this month , then i will do the sane day passporting at LA.

  4. Yes, its kind of confusing. How can one receive the RFE after the case has been recommended for approval right after the interview.....I am learning something new everyday over here. :)

Its not unusual for the supervisor to look into the " recommended for approval" file again to pull up something on concern.

USCIS..sigh...learning something new every time, everyday.

yeah ive been reading everynight about RFE for N400 Application and all i can read was RFE before the interview. and im going crazy because they dont update my case status online. its a relief if they will just put if they received my rfe docs or if its for review or something. but nothing .

I'm really sorry for that issue. I hope you will be approved after replying RFE very soon.

I cannot say how fast you will be approved and scheduled then but I think you don't need to buy a new ticket or pay fee to change the date of current one. You don't know for sure when you will be approved, taken an oath and getting a passport to leave country. At that point, the letter from your husband's company is enough.

Also you can submit copy of your current ticket with explanation that date will be changed when you know the date of oath ceremony.

Good luck to you! Wish you to finish this process soon!

thank you girl. i hope i can have my oath taking this month, i can do same day passporting at LA in case.

  5. ok. I am confused. You timeline shows you were approved on May 4 yet you now say you received an RFE. You may want to correct your timeline.

About the RFE i do not understand why they need you to prove you will be leaving the country in 45 days after you receive your citizenship. Your post is not clear. Why do they need this and what did you say at the interview that made them determine they need proof of this travel? What explanation from your husband do they need? What had you said at the interview that necessitated this? What is this about leaving the country after you gain citizenship. I am totally lost.

first of all, i applied for n400 under section 319b. my husband is working in kuwait at US government so i am eligible to apply for what they call expedited n400, meaning i dont need to go through 3 years of waiting before i can apply citizenship. but you need to leave the country after 45 days you got your citizenship and stay with your husband in the country he is working.

second, during my interview, i passed the civic test, reading and writing test and the IO told me ok your good, you will just wait for your oath taking schedule. after 1 week ,i received RFE letter and asking for a PROOF THAT I WILL LEAVE THE COUNTRY AFTER I GET MY CITIZENSHIP. So the only thing my husband think for a proof for this is a plane ticket. then USCIS also asked for a letter of explanation from my husband's company.

So now my question is, does USCIS will give consideration and make a decision for my case without waiting for 60 days respond. my plane ticket was dated July 6.

  6. i had my interview last May 4. everything went well. i passed the civic test, english and reading test. after one week, without status update on my online case status , i received a letter that we need to submit RFE. they asked lette of explanation from my husband's company and A PROOF THAT I WILL LEAVE THE COUNTRY IN 45 DAYS AFTER I WILL RECEIVE MY CITIZENSHIP. without a second thought, when my husband had the letter of explanation from his company he bought a plane ticket for me and my son going to Kuwait , it was date on July 6, 2016 and we submitted. and then i made a research about RFE's how long it will take for them ( USCIS) to reply. unfortunately it will take 60 days before they make a responce.

i just want to know if they can give consideration since we already bought a ticket. i know we can move the date but we will pay for a penalty on that.

or anyone from here who got RFE after the inteview?

  7. I'm sorry for that issue. Unfortunately, it happened not to you only. There are a lot of women who go through administrative processing after interview in the embassy that takes a few months. Lately, there are some fiancee petitions that were denied during interview in the embassy or sent back to the NVC. Sometimes such petitions, after getting back to the NVC, has been closed and couples were going to start process again.

Believe in good! Everything will be just fine! It's the last step. You are going to be a US citizen very soon!

actually during that time im not under Administrative processing. the lady from the embassy told me, no one reviewed my medical result. my file was misplaced and so no one reviewed it for 5 months,no one opened it. thats why my visa was never issued. until i went there at US embassy philippines, they look for my file and there they found out i was not supposed to wait for 5 months for my visa to issue. they admit its their fault.

anyway yeah im not the one who had that experience .

  8. No need to worry. I wasn't asked for documents I had too. My interview with test was very fast, maybe less than 10 mins including stamping the documents. When I heard 'You are approved' I asked if IO needs my new documents? He asked what do I have? - Oh, new tax transcript? Well, I take that.

I had more evidences but IO even did not look - just added them to all my documents in a big folders. He did not look at my passport as well, said he doesn't need it.

So, be patient. If there were any problems with your case IO would not say that he/she recommends you for approval. Everything is fine, you will get a oath notice soon!

thank you so much. i just had trauma because of what had happened to me at US Embassy Philippines. i got approved and ive waited for 5 months and i decided to withdraw my passport. when i got there they told me they can issue the visa right away. what happened is my file was misplaced and never touched by anyone after my interview. thats why now ive been thinking a lot. lol
