Hi All

I had been to the DMV here in Manhattan and i had my ssn I-94 & passport

I -94 is valid till Sept. The lady there said she would need a document or EAD card showing 1 year validity for the exchange of my canadian licence..

Now even if i recive my EAD which will be valid for a year but when i recieve it from USCIS and go to DMV it would be probably short by 15days or so..

Is there any other place in NY where they would do without hassle jus with I-94 and passport

Also tht SSN card which i recd say on the Top "VALID WITH WORK AUTHORISATION"

Is this same for everyone or only K1

i would not rely on tht online status anyways bcos most of the time u are not even tched and you recieve yr noa2 and other docs

It ask for Photo ID, I only have my Passport and SSN# no Photo ID of US is that OK?

Also it shld be the same as yr A# on yr approval

I hv opened a joint account with Chase and since i hv only ssn so they hv made my wife the primary

today i recd my debit card an i called to activate it, and also i asked wld the stmnts show both the names and she said it would only show the primary account holder how stupid?

So interested to know if other members are having in the same way or it shows both names

Also on the credit card they said i will be the secondary card holder and my wife would hv to apply 1 for me?

Pls advise

Hi All,

My wife is with T mobie on individual plan and we are now plannig to go for a family plan

I was at Radio Shack Yday.. they say tht T mobile does not hv good coverage and Cingular would be my best bet for $69.99 for 700 mins rollover evngs & wknds free

But i hv to be on a contract..

Now while in Canada i was with FIDO i had incoming free anytime (which is not available here with any provider) Also i am not looking for a fancy phone i need smthng just to recieve and call back

so is there anyone who is aware where will i get incoming free for about a monthly plan of $40.00

I got my SSN card last week in NYC, I went to the bank to open the account and they told me it was not valid

also today i went to Radio shack to buy a cell phone when they did so the chk wit my social they said it was not valid

Diff situations but similar denials

i am from Mumbai too, called up my brother he is still at wrk as he cant travel the land lines are not working its getting worse there..
