DON'T ask her to speak English only and allow her chat with her family often on Facebook or Skype. Remember Filipino families are closely knitted. Treat her as an equal and listen to her needs too. I would send again via FedEx or similar fast delivery (not UPS). Maybe others had better luck than me. I sent all my documents FedEx costing $94 USD

stayed at Mabini for 4 weeks, after first night(old-old room) I requested a much better room and they moved me up to a great room (separate sleeping bedroom) and had a good time there. Do not eat there. Mr. Peters (3 shops away) was the best. Also have 7-11 and fast food places near and park is 2 1/2 blocks away. There are several other hotels around there too. Just 10 minute walk to Manila US Embassy and close to St. Lukes.

some Americans do not know Filipino customs. Here, in Youngstown Ohio, they knew that custom and we had no problems. A lot of civil servants aren't trained properly.....just given the job. Sorry for your problem
