You DO need a new letter of intent for London if your interview is after the expiration date of the NOA2.
-
I think the easiest thing would be to contact the Embassy and ask for them to move your interview. I've never heard of them delaying the visa issuance, but who knows.
-
It is terrible, though I'm not surprised. It is obviously played up for the drama.
But Mike's family, his mother in particular, is so awful to Aziza.
-
Since you're filing for the Philippines and you already have your MNL number, I would definitely go ahead and schedule your interview. I think I read that they're filling up June interviews right now. Your case will be through AP and at the consulate long before your scheduled interview.

AP is common in the Philippines. Do you track your case status on the CEAC website? The passport won't be sent out until it shows Issued.

Thank you very much for your help, your suggestions are very important for me.
This morning, my wife's aunt (USC) has spoken with an immigration lawyer in America who said that, of course, the earlier I go to the US the better it is.
That is why, having just finished the master in London, I'm planning to move as soon as possible (hopefully in one month).
The lawyer also added that filing through the lock box in the US or here through DFC doesn't make any important difference as all the papers need to be sent in the US but it's basically up to me because - in his opinion - I shouldn't face any risk in doing so in London.
At this point, since I find your observation very logical, I don't want to take even the smallest risk if there is no difference in term of lenght of the process.
However, it seems very strange to me because in the DFC forum (and also speaking with forum users who followed this path) I got other kind of information and - at least the first step (process I-130 applications, receve the letter of approval and being notified the case is transferred to the visa unit) - is much quicker.
Anyway, I want to understand better the situation and postpone the filing.
Actually, I've also thought to query directly the Uscis office in London, explaining the situation and showing my very true "bona fide".
What do you think about it?
With regards to the tax returns, I've read the "Guide for new immigrants" and the part where it is said that a permanent resident has to file income tax returns and report the income to the IRS.
However, up to now I've never had an income...and I was told that in this case I can either still file the tax return (by indicating only "zero") or not doing so (as I've never had an source of income before).
What do you think about that?
Is that a lack that a joint sponsor can "solve" or there is no way..?
Thank you a lot for your help!
I've seen this explained already, but the reason it is quicker for those in that forum is they are applying as USC with UK residence. You are not a USC, so your spouse is not immediately entitled to a visa. LPR spousal visas fall into the F2A category, which, even after approval, means you have to wait an indeterminable amount of time until a visa is available for them.
So yes, DCF is faster in the approval lane. However, it won't make a difference in the timing overall because your spouse would have to wait until there is an available visa. They would not receive the visa as soon as their application is approved.
Hope this helps.

Hey thanks for letting us know just wondering, when abouts did you get your tracking number?
Sorry for the late reply.
He got the tracking number on Monday, the day it was released to the courier. He doesn't live far from London so I'm not sure how that played in to how quick he was to get it.

Ours was issued on a Thursday and was delivered the next Tuesday. Won't take long!

The site has been down for maintenance. Everyone is getting that message.

London isn't going to care about jobs you don't work anymore. As long as you have pay stubs for your current job showing you make more than 125% of the poverty level, that is all they will take from you. You're stressing yourself out unnecessarily.
But no. They're not going to penalize you for putting McDonalds instead of the name of the franchise owner.

Mohamed had his interview today
APPROVED !!!
They told him to pick up his visa on Monday
Congratulations!
More than 2 months since my NOA2 was approved, USCIS has finally mailed it to the NVC. (Or at least they say they have)
So jealous of those of you who have had your interviews already.
Finally. Hopefully things will move fast for you now. You should be able to call sometime next week and get your case number.

I want to echo what PalmTrees said. When I started this thread, I thought if anyone was through the proces before Feb/ March it would be a miracle. If we had done things a little differently, Annie would already be here with me. I hope you all get through the process and are with your loved ones soon.
Cheers,
Jon
We filed with the belief that he probably wouldn't be here until the next September, at the least. And now he'll be here in March. It is overwhelming sometimes how fast it has moved. We've had to change so many of our plans! No complaints, of course.
-
We have our visa! Now to wait for him to be released from work...
-
You probably won't ever get anything from the embassy in Manila. You need to fill out your DS-160 and make sure you go in for your medical.
This will help you: http://visaconnection-philippines.com/#

To add on to my previous reply, it seems like the DOS isn't giving out interview information anymore. A few other people have called and gotten the same response. I guess you'll have to wait for your letter.
-
What did your fiance ask? The NVC definitely will not know anything. When I called, I said, "I'm calling to inquire about my interview date. We've received no notification and are afraid our letter has gotten lost in the mail." They gave us our date and time. I suggest calling back and hopefully speaking to a different visa specialist.
Our visa was collected by the courier today and will hopefully be delivered tomorrow!
-
Sorry if you've gotten your answers.
K-1 applicants only fill out a DS-160. It's under Immigrant visa.
You won't be able to pay for the visa fee or the courier until you've filled out the DS-160, submitted the readiness form to London, had your medical results logged at the consulate, and had your interview scheduled. But London won't schedule your interview without those first three things done. You do not schedule your own appointment.
-
Hi guys, im a September filer too. Im just waiting for my interview in London now. Mymedical and readiness form were done three weeks ago. All forms are completed and im totally ready. Waiting for my interview date is getting me down. Anyone else here from London anr can tell me how long untill they got their appointment after submitting their readiness form???
I miss my fiance :-(
There's a good chance your interview is already scheduled. Have your USC fiancé call the DOS visa unit to inquire. (202) 485-7600, option 1, option 0.
-
They'll have it there, but I would bring another. I've heard of them tossing anything that isn't pertinent to the actual petition in the initial stages.
-
Yay! Hopefully we'll have ours Monday or Tuesday then too!

I understand the question fine. You do not need to be rude to people who are trying to help you.
Appeals of I-485 denials rarely end favorably for the petitioner, which is why you probably can't find any. If you have done everything correctly since entering the country and meet all the requirements, they have no reason to deny your AOS. This is why I suggested waiting until you received your denial letter to find out WHY you were denied. If it is something easily overcome, such as income, then you may be okay to appeal it, but a second denial cannot be appealed. If it is not something easily overcome, such as leaving the country and returning between entering on your K-1 and filing your AOS package, the best thing to do is to remain in the country, seek legal counsel, and file an I-130 concurrently with a new I-485 to bring yourself back into status.
If you're intent on returning to your country, you may do that as well and file for the spousal visa, if you wanted to return.
I'm apologize that my help is so offensive.
-
I think you should hold off on buying a ticket and see what the denial notice says. You CAN file a motion to re-open your case, but I think it must be within 30 days of your denial.
-
You have more patience than me. I would have put in something to the Ombudsman after being told to wait another two weeks for a call back, or eight weeks for a petition arrival.
No one is really helping you. They're reading a script.
-
I think a lot of these issues are something that should have been brought up and discussing long before he came to live with you! He had to know all of these things about you already, so I don't think it's fair to you that he waited until he was finally there to demand that they all change. (About picking up your clothes and cleaning--guilty myself! Maybe he should help you. It's his house now too!) As for the cat, I'd fight tooth and nail for mine, but luckily my fiance loves mine. My dog is another story...but he knows how much I love him and would never ask for me to get rid of him.
As for the smoking, my fiance is giving that up for me when he moves across, but it was more his decision than mine. I didn't mind if he smoked, as long as he did it on the balcony, because you can't smoke inside per my lease agreement. And I just don't like the smell of smoke.
Honestly, I think you need to stand up for yourself and let him know how you really feel or you'll just let him run your life from here on out. This may be how things were in Jamaica but he's not there anymore. You can't just give him his way because you don't want to cause problems. You are important too! Besides, part of his need to control may come from his own insecurity. He's in a completely new country, culture, and environment. He may just need to feel in control of SOMETHING so it's not so difficult. He also may think this is what you want him to do.
I think you would feel a lot better if y'all sat down together and had a long talk about it. It always helps with me and my fiance when we get in these sorts of situations. Happy thoughts! Everything will work out.
What happens to case status when you send in RFE response?

It should say something like "Response Review."
